Who Called Us

Had the same call. I called the 888-279-2426 number provided on the recording. I tried to call the number and they asked what was the number they called. The lady ask me if there is a XXXX XXXX at this number. I simply told her, no and she state the number will be removed from the system with in 1-2 days.
I did go on and ask her what this is about, she said this is for XXXX who had an account w/ Citi and this is the number listed.

I would suggest those who had received the same call, just call the number and had them removed your number if it wasn't for you, otherwise they will just keep calling.

Called me saying it was citicard. I don't have any credit cards, especially on my work cell phone. Called them back they asked for my phone number. Didn't pull anything up, asked for my social security number. I would be surprised if this was a legit company.

Pay Your Bills on time and they won't call you. I don't know when you all began to think that a credit card gave you a sense of entitlement, but don't get mad because your actions do have consequences. Citigroup is not a 3rd party collection agency, therefore the FDCPA doesn't cover them. It's probably in your best interests to answer the calls, or you can see your account fall even more past due and into charge-off, which will ruin your credit. They will be willing to work out a solution as long as you take ten minutes to speak to them and work something out.

this is City Card they also work for Exxon Mobile, gas cards, etc.

This number is calling my cell phone. caller ID doest say anything, however Verizon Wireless has a feature you can get called City ID. and according to the CITY ID its in Boone, Kentucky. as a rule if i don't know a number I dont answer it. i figure if its someone who knows me they will leave me a voicemail. I have not a clue of who this is or what they want.

My Shell/Texaco payment is late, wanted to know what was going on.

This number calls all night long never leaves a MSG and never a person I can yell at. My lawyer is looking into a few telemarketing companies practicing unlawfully. Hope he nails some of those scum.

This was Citi Bank Mastercard calling about a payment that they had not received. Just paid it over the phone with a check to get them out of my hair as i just had laid down for a Sunday afternoon nap.

RG below is correct. They'll keep calling until the bill is paid. Pay or put your phone on silent mode. In either case, move on.

This is so aggravating! They call our house EVERYDAY, never leaving a message or answering when we say, "Hello?" They have even called on a Sunday at 8am. :X

THIS NUMBER AND ANOTHER NUMBER CALLS ME ALL THE TIME. THE CALLER ID SAYS KENTUCKY FOR BOTH NUMBERS. 1-859-283-3675. THEN RIGHT AFTER THIS NUMBER CALLS, THE PHONE RINGS AND THIS NUMBER FOLLOWS 800-641-4526. THE CALLER ID SAID THIS NUMBER CALLED 83 TIMES. ONLY NOW THEY CALL WITH THEIR PHONE NUMBER SO IT SHOWS UNKNOWN.
THESE ANNOYING CALLS SHOULD BE MADE TO STOP. THIS IS TOTALLY HARASSMENT!

FYI. to the man who said they asked for the full social after asking for the card number.... probably wasn't fraud. Once you give a call center your account or card number, all your information pulls up in the system and they can see your social security number. They just ask you for it so they can identify you on the card so they can then discuss the account with you so they know they arent giving out card information to they wrong person.

This number called my house repeatly during the day 2 weeks ago. Last week they finally called me at my job. They told me I was 19 days behind on my Exxon Credit Card. 19 day!!! They started calling my house when I was only 15 or 16 days. I told them they would get paid at the end of the month and to please not call me at work. I just got another call from them looking for money. I told them that I spoke to someone last week and told them I would get them the money by the end of the month. I also told them not to call me at my work. I just got done sending a email to ExxonMobil Citibank that I as soon as I pay this card off they will lose my business. I have had a few late payments but come on 15 days late and you are hounding me!

I got called 8 times yesterday! i answered and no one was there then i ignored all the rest and they never left a message.

Cell companies need to have a telephone number blocking system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! like Qwest has on home phones.

They called so many times and left no messages, until one day I picked up and nicely asked for their name and last name, and told them that I had them on a speaker phone and that I was recording this call. ( by law you can do that while on speaker phone ) and I asked them NOT to call me ever again, and if they did, I will send a copy of the recorded call to my state consumer protection agency and the federal trade commision. If they wanted to get in touch with me, to do so by mail. They never called me again.

call many time a day and no message. call very early and call very late. i tell them once when i sick the person they looking for no more live here and they say ok we no more call. they no more call the day but they still do after the day.

I just called the number on my caller id. She ask my name and phone number. That's already a public record so I told her. She did not ask for any other personal info. She told me the name of who they were trying to contact and I told her I had never heard of them. I told her I was on the federal and state do not call lists. She said my number will be deleted and I will not receive any more calls after today. We'll see.

What happened to the "do not call list" law?

They called my CELL PHONE and I have no idea who they are, didnt leave a message but if they call again and I am able to answer it they are not going to like what I tell them.

Citibank - calling about a late payment on my credit card. I've quit answering my phone. They call 5,6,7 times a day, starting at 8:00 a.m., even on Sunday, and ending just before 10:00 p.m. I'm not skipping out on paying the bill, it's just a little late!

It is a collection firm for Citi.

Calls 3 - 4x/day, 7 days/wk. Calls often begin at 7:30am and continue to 9:30pm. They never leave any messages.

I received a call from this number today. Since I don't know this number or anyone in Kentucky, I ignored this call. No message left on answering machine either.

Have you tried call blocking? Just dial *60 to activate. Then wait for the message and dial #01 and the # again. Supposedly the call will not be allowed to go through.

Received a call today and I returned it gave them my phone number and turns out they were trying to get a hold of the person who had my phone number before I did. This happens with creditors and it is to be expected, especially with round numbers like me and my wife have.. We get mistaken credit inquiry calls at least once every 6 months or so.

Calls home and work 2X a day. A machine states "please wait for the next available agent". They are calling me so I will not wait.

Called twice today, 9am and 5pm just hung up extremely irritating to say the least.

First they thought I was a LaShawn Taylor, when I blatantly told them I am not & threatened legal action against them for harrassment (they call my phone at least 6 times a day for the last month) they now have magically turned me into someone else. Some unpronounceable african name. Doesn't CitiBank/Card do thorough identity confirmation during the application process? Annoying. I REFUSE to change my number. I was lucky to get a 212 area code when I opened this line 5 years ago (most every new land line gets 646 over the last 10 years or so) and I am not going to lose it due to morons in KY that can't get their act together.

I called this number back and it was from a Citi Card. A credit card company collection dept. Would make sense..I'm a little behind. lol

Some jig gave my phone number on their Childrens Place credit card application, charged it to its max and then never made payments. The woman I spoke to was nice enough, I just hope my number will be off their list by midnight, as she indicated.

I get a call everyday for the past month - sometimes 2 times a day. Never say who it is or leaves a message other than to call back - this is not a sales call.
I wish I could get this stopped as it is costing me incoming call time.

They call as early as 6:30 a.m. and as late as 11:30 p.m. They are abusive and don't stop calling. It's Citi cards, and they have a ton of creditors such as Home Depot, Exxon/Mobile, Shell, Rooms to Go, others. These people need to be stopped. I've filed a Complaint with the FTC.gov and I am suing them for violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act, each time they call it's $1,000.00 bucks in my pocket.

Not only did they ask for my credit card number but also for my FULL social security number, which I refused to give!

Got the call and it was an automated voice telling me to hold for the next rep. That they were from Citibank calling about my Zales account (which I don't have). I played it safe, hung up, and looked up the number for Citibank and called them directly. I checked with them to see if there was any reason I should be contacted by them. They verified that I didn't have an account with them and apologized for the inconvenience. Better safe than sorry guys! You've got to be careful these days.

They wanted to know who the Exxon card holders name, then they wanted to know my SS. Told them there was no way that I was giving that out, she proceeded to tell me "then I can not give you any information on this account." This has got to be a scam to get personal information, DO NOT give out any personal information.

Female Caller. Asked for someone that no longer works at this number. Was told she was not available and she asked for her voice mail. We sent call to the voice mail of the current employee who has the extension and no message was left.

Calls from this phone # just started, but previous daily calls from 972 655-0012, which when you google also has some connection to CTI. Don't owe money anywhere and haven't for decades. Don't know why all these calls with nobody there.

Citi has redialed my house as many as 16 times in a 9 hour period, yet NEVER leave any message, can you spell class-action breach of contract lawsuit?

I just looked Premier Recovery up on the my state website, this is definitely a third-party collector, despite anything they might claim to the contrary saying they are Citicard or Citibank.

This caller is Premier Recovery of Florence KY, does collections for various Citicard fuel card accounts like 76, Shell, Exxon, some store branded cards...This company (and I use that term loosely!) will call up to 10 times a day, yet almost never leave any message, yesterday (12/13/2007) I logged an amazing sixteen (16!!) calls from 8:30am to 6:30pm, and this was after they had already signed for a cease comm letter a week ago! Their autodialer ignores answering machines and SIT (service interrupt tones) tones, if you try to ignore them, they will redial two to three times in a row...

I get calls daily from CITI - with the same recording - Please call CITI cards regarding a private label account. I have called the number back and they have told me twice that they have no idea why I got the call. VERY annoying!

As shown above this is a Citi Cards Collection #. Citi owns so many private branded CC that they can get away with harassment easily.

I get calls from this number every single morning at 8:00 am, when I do answer, there is no one there, but like the others I hear backround noise. When I get home from work I have had 3-6 additional calls and then up till 10 pm. I have never gotten a message or talked to a real person. I don't have a Zales card either.

We ought to be able to make a collective suit against the phone companies which are not providing us real service for CALLER ID!

SAME HERE, again and again! There is never any msg left on our ans machine, and it is very annoying with those repeated unwanted non-solicited calls. THERE OUGHT TO BE A LAW against this invasion of privacy!

I was a call rep for company, the system calls out, we were not allowed to talk to anyone but the customer or spouse, they will not allow us to leave messages. If you tell them you are not customer, tell them to verify the number, DO NOT HANG UP ON THEM or we can't take number out of the dialer system, any questions have to be asked by the customer, they are calling your number because it was a number provided by the customer as a home or work number. Just let them verify it and take it out of the system

I too had a call from this number and after looking it up online, I called it. This number was a collection call from Citi card. I had a late payment due for a Tractor Supply account. The guy I spoke to was very polite.

They called 9X today. I don't have any credit cards. I even changed my phone number AND had it unlisted. They still keep calling. No one ever speaks to you. I also hear typing and/or people talking in the background, but the caller says nothing. When does harrassment come into play?

This is a collection call for a private label credit card (eg. Zales, Gordons, etc) that is from Citi.

They call nearly every day and always say "wait for customer service" but then that's it. They show up on different things on my caller id. It's usually "unknown" or "Kentucky."

Called me today, asking me to wait for a customer service people. And after a while, said I cannot talk to a custon service this time... What were they doing?

I get a call every day from this number when I'm at work. Every message sounds exactly the same and I think it's a recorded voice dialed by an automated system. The voice says, "This is Citicard calling about your Zales account. Please call 1-888-279-2426." I don't have a Zales account.
