How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Try to remember (or realize) that some of us are not to blame for our situation; some have just had bad luck (medical bills/problems and such).
In my case it was an ex-wife who used my credit cards behind my back. Credit cards, I might add, that I had recently paid off and closed with letters via mail. I never ONCE received a call from a 'concerned' bank while she was racking up balances on my 'closed' cards So, while my ex-wife is mostly to blame, the banks are definately to blame as well. They sure know how to call after you fall behind, but apparently don't know how to pick up the phone when there's activity on closed accounts. NOT ONE phone call when it was early enough to stop (or limit) the damage.
also i think it is very rude of YOU all to call people from Kentucky "in-bred hillbilly's" NOT EVERYONE FROM NORTHERN KENTUCKY IS IN-BRED!!!! in fact there is hardly any in-breeding. I find that very racist. Get your facts straight before you try to insult someone.
Citi is only trying to help those in need. If you are having financial problems ask them about payment options to help you out for however long you may need to get back on your feet. Yes the calls maybe annoying and you may think its harassment but citi is following the procedures that have been set by the FDCPA. Citi is not a 3rd party collector, They financially service many of the account others have already said. If the debt is not paid after a long period of time, then you will be sent to an outside agency. They do call on Sundays because not everyone practices the same religion. If you do not wish for them to call you at work just ask to have to have the number taken out or you are not able to receive calls at your place of business. its that easy. or better yet make your payments on time and for the correct amount and you will not get any calls.
Flamingo, Citi also handles retail and gas accounts. Shell, Conoco, Union 76, Phillips 66, Citgo, Drive Card and Sunoco are the gas cards that Citi handles. Along with a plethora of store cards, which include the following: Sears, Macy's, Home Depot, Office Depot, Staples, Radioshack, Goodyear, Tire Kingdom, National Tire and Battery, Merchant's Tire, Kelly Springfield, J. Jill, Childrens' Place, Zales, Gordons, Fred Meyer, Bailey Banks and Biddle, Littman Barclay, Tractor Supply, and a few I'm sure I missed. Just answer the call and see what it is about, failure to do so could mean a lower FICO score unfortunately. And of course many calls per day.
These people call multiple times a day and most times do not leave a message. This past Friday I finally heard a message and all it said was this is citi card calling about your account and left a number to call. The caller did not state what company they are calling about. Unlike the slick remarks made below, all my cards are current and up to date. So I have no idea why they are calling. Last time something like this happened, it was Bank of America trying to sell me some insurance. But I am pretty sure this isn't them.
That's 6 times per day for every account you have with them too if you don't answer the phone. so if you have 4 cards through Citi, it could mean 24 calls per day.
If you don't have an account, you should still answer the phone and let them know. If not they will continue to call (How else will they know). And i assure you Citbank is the worlds largest financial institution, they follow all applicable laws. They can call you up to 6 times per day, per FDCPA Law, unless you answer the phone and speak to them. Then if you speak they can call every 5 days until debt is satisfied.
Pay Your Bills on time and they won't call you. I don't know when you all began to think that a credit card gave you a sense of entitlement, but don't get mad because your actions do have consequences. Citigroup is not a 3rd party collection agency, therefore the FDCPA doesn't cover them. It's probably in your best interests to answer the calls, or you can see your account fall even more past due and into charge-off, which will ruin your credit. They will be willing to work out a solution as long as you take ten minutes to speak to them and work something out.
NEED TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!! ITS VERY ANNOYING!!
I actually answered and then when there was no one there for a second or two, I hung up. They haven't called back.
Almost every single day - to the point of harassment- I am getting these calls. They leave a number to call back, that is NEVER answered.
The voice says, "This is Citicard calling about your Zales account. Please call 1-888-279-2426." I don't have a Zales account. Exactly as previous writer says.
This is either a scam or a phishing expedition.
A warning about dealing with Citi Card's in-house collection service:
Because they are still collecting for the original card issuer, not acting as 3-rd party debt collectors, (even if your card says Sears or Shell or whatever), you can not send them the standard cease and stop calling me letter, when I stopped answering their calls and tried that, they actually upped their calls on one day to 14 attempted calls in less than 9 hours, instead of their more normal 4 to 8 on an average day. They apparently also do not have to comply with many of the same restrictions placed on 3-rd party collectors, such as not calling you at work, or calling at inconvienent hours, or ringing your phone as many times as they can get away with, I've heard of stalkers who were probably less persistent than these guys. Because they were so unwilling to work with me, I was eventually forced to let all my Citi accounts go to default, just to finally get rid of these in-bred hillbilly's. Kentucky also appears to have very lax state laws regulating collections and conduct of collection agencies in general.
Citi has a large call center located in Florence that does all in-house collections for anything related to a Citicard account, like all the branded gas charge cards, Zales, etc. The reason these locally in-bred bastards will call 6 or 8 or 10 times each day is because they are not 3-party collectors, they are still collecting on behalf of the original card issuer (Citi), so they seem to think they can get away with a lot of illegal or abusive crap the 3-rd party collectors are not allowed to pull, or try to threaten you with. After the first fifty or so harassing calls, often once an hour, I told them to go to hell, and intentionally let my accounts go to default, just so I could get rid of these bozos.
This company is beyond rude....I was constantly harassed at work and home even when I asked not to call me at work. I contacted the missouri attorney general and they asked me to send a certified letter to them asking them for no phone contact. They received the letter yesterday and so far it has worked.....
is citi card so is 859-283-3677 call like 10 times a day (not embelishing)
This is a Citi Bank number. Could be about a credit card or Goodyear Tire card....
I just looked Premier Recovery up on the my state website, this is definitely a third-party collector, despite anything they might claim to the contrary saying they are Citicard or Citibank.

This caller is Premier Recovery of Florence KY, does collections for various Citicard fuel card accounts like 76, Shell, Exxon, some store branded cards...This company (and I use that term loosely!) will call up to 10 times a day, yet almost never leave any message, yesterday (12/13/2007) I logged an amazing sixteen (16!!) calls from 8:30am to 6:30pm, and this was after they had already signed for a cease comm letter a week ago! Their autodialer ignores answering machines and SIT (service interrupt tones) tones, if you try to ignore them, they will redial two to three times in a row...
Anwered calls before and it was Citi collecting for Shell oil didn't want to work out payments
I get these calls also. They are from Citibank to collect for my Bombay account. They are RUTHLESS when calling me at the office.
This is a collection office from Citicorp.
Citi - a Division of CitiGroup

They will harass you every day of the wek from 8am until 9pm, IF you allow them to. Send them a DO NOT CONTACT letter.
This company also calls for Radio Shack accounts, which are through CitiCard.
This was a "courtesy call" about my Children's Place account.
Get calls at least 10 times a day asking me to hold for an importent message. I don't even have a Citicard or zales. If they want to talk to me, they are gonna have a human and not a mschine on the line. Then they called sat morning. We waited on the line for 5 min and the voice said we will call you back later. What is that? It is getting to be a big pain if you know what I mean.
jim
I get called every day fro 888-279-2426 about Citicard. I DON'T HAVE A CITICARD. They continue to call even tho I tell them to cease calling!!

I bought stuff from Zales but not on a credit card , How the hell would I owe them money WTF
This is to collect a debt from Zales. They call WAY too often... where are the laws that protect us consumers?? They call on Sundays too.. Jeeze!! even God took a day off!!
everyday i get a recorded message telling me to hold on and the next available agent will be with me shortly. and thats all it says no call back number or anything.
received on 11-9-06 11:20am CST. Immedaitely after a call from 866.740.8744 (insurance sales...)
I get a call every day from 859-283-3677 when I'm at work. This is just a call from the same company calling on a different extension. Every message sounds exactly the same and I think it's a recorded voice dialed by an automated system. The voice says, "This is Citicard calling about your Zales account. Please call 1-888-279-2426." I don't have a Zales account.
