Who Called Us

Listened to "Dave" and his carpet special cleaning sales pitch. Waited and pressed "1" to make an appt. I asked operator name of co. They stated it was "Best Carpet" I went on to say I was on the do not call list, and would be reporting them - at which time the woman operator hung up on me! Reported to the Do Not Call gov web site, and also the FCC - found link thru the AG web site.

AT&T wouldn't do jack about it other than to sell me some service or gave me a # to call and let me listen to recorded info on telemarketers. Thanks for nothing AT&T

Called again. This is the 3rd or 4th time. I recognize the caller ID now, and do not pick up

They call, say nothing. I hang up.

left carpet clean message on voice mail. low ball price. no company name. did not try calling back.

They call about once every week or two. We don't answer, but it's annoying to have the same number continue to call. What can the AG do, anyhow? Probably nothing, they'll disconnect the number and start all over again.

I've got call from 818-555-1000 today,I didn't pic up the phone and nobody left message.I tried to call back but it kept saying "Your call can't be completed".

Tey keep calleing. and we dont answer "Unknown" ID. ATT refuses to accept any resonsibility yet they are offering addition service for a fee.?? is ATT resposible or Google or Iphone??

Calls 2 times a week. I called (888)279-6050 a carpet cleaning company answered and I told them I keep getting calls from this #. They told me my # would be put on their no call list.
We will see what happens.

I got calls. 800Notes has entry to call 13108328366 - another Allison. They called her, she p'd them off & now gets calls as if she's carpet cleaner co. She filed case #10982333 with FTC who says she's legit. I filed case #11308365. Please call them #18773824357 for your complaint, they need as many as poss. Allison said she wants me to give her email 'stopcarpetscam@yahoo.com-you may also call her. My email thrspwrs2@yahoo.com. FTC will send email to you. Verizon/ATT said software they use 'masks' their real tel. #. Ftc. says software is ILLEGAL.

I have this on my caller I.D. almost every day, we don't answer unknowns. I will call the A.G.'s office

I pressed "1" to "schedule an appointment and then asked the Middle Eastern -accented guy who picked up the phone what his company name and number was. he caught on to me and said 888-555-5555 and then hung up on me.

just got a hang up frm these jerks and i didnt get A1 carpet when I called them back, I recieved Verizon 411 directory assistance

These people keep calling. i ask to be taken off the their list and advise this is a do not call number and they hang up. I will try stringing them along next time and see if i can get any info.

I got the call and pressed 1 and ask for their name and they said Best Carpet Cleaners and then hung-up on me.

They call and hang up if it goes to my voice mail.

It's me again. I filed a complaint with DoNotCall.gov.
I don't know if it does any good.
I wish some techie could trace these calls.

I pushed "1" and started talking to someone with a Mexican accent. I gave a fake name and address. I gave him my zip code on Catalina Island which they don't cover.He then hung up.
Next time I'll give them a
Long Beach, CA address and book an appt. They'll ask for a credit card which I won't give and that will end it.
I wish there was someway of getting these guys.

Get calls constantly from this company, and have no way of telling them to delete my number from their call list(s). The latest was received today at 3:48 PDT.

Found similiar complaints on the internet which listed another number in addition to the 555-1000. Called the number and it IS the same people (live!)who keep calling using a variety of FAKE caller ID #s. That phone is 888-219-6051. Call them up at that # and see how they like having THEIR lines tied up with B.S. calls.

I'm a detective & these calls are completely bogus. I've received this number on my personal cell phone & don't pick up.

I HAVE GOTTEN THIS NUMBER AND OTHERS LIKE IT FOR OVER FIVE YEARS. IN ADDITION, WITH THE HELP OF AN EX-POLICEMAN/PRIVATE INVESTIGATOR, WE DETERMINED THESE NUMBERS ARE A WAY FOR CRIMINALS TO OPEN YOUR PHONE AND LISTEN INTO YOUR HOME/BUSINESS - EVEN THOUGH THE RECEIVER IS ON THE HOOK. THIS IS CALLED "HOOK SWITCH BYPASS" AND IT'S REAL. THAT'S WHY ALL THESE PHONE CALLS DON'T MAKE SENSE. THAT'S WHY YOU GET HUNG UP ON, ETC. TRUST ME - I'VE EXPERIENCED THIS FOR FIVE YEARS.

IT IS FAKE CALLER I.D. WHEN YOU CALL IT BACK, EITHER THERE IS NO RINGING, YOU GET AN ERROR REPORT, OR A BUSY SIGNAL.

IT IS ALSO USED BY COMPUTER HACKERS AND JUST PLAIN STALKERS WHO HAVE ENDED UP ON THE "DARK SIDE" OF LIFE. IT MAKES THEM FEEL IMPORTANT WHEN THEY FRUSTRATE YOU. IT IS DANGEROUS FOR THESE MUTANTS AND STRANGERS TO HEAR THE PRIVATE DETAILS OF YOUR LIFE. WE SHOULD ALL REPORT THESE NUMBERS TO THE POLICE.

I EVEN SUSPECT IT IS USED BY ORGANIZED CRIME TO TERRORIZE.

My wife answered, but no one was there on the other end.

I do not answer unknown callers.....I let my voice mail pick up.....if no message on voice mail then as far as I am concerned it is a bogus caller.

Same old recorded message about their special carpet cleaning offer.
Have told them several times to take me off the list with no change.
Reported their old number to the Federal "do not call" list website and it stopped for a few months. Now they're back with an obviously spoofed number.

No one answered when i picked up. I don't pick them up anymore. They also use a 222 number.

I received a call from this number today at 3:19pm Pacific Time. I tried to return the call on my caller ID but was told my call could not be completed as dialed. No message was left on voicemail.
