How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker (click pictures below for price and reviews).
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Well if it is Citi I have no clue why they'd be calling me. I bought my car from a private party and have never held any sort of account with them. They called my cell this morning and did not leave a message.
CitiBank. very friendly. appologised for the misunderstanding and will send me a check pronto.
Got a call today from 817-490-6499. They hung up before voicemail picked up. Tried calling the number back and got a recording saying number can not be completed as dialed.
This number calls at least 3x a day to my work phone. Never leaves a message. Sometimes it will ring the full amount of rings before going to voicemail (which they never leave a msg), and sometimes it'll ring just once or twice and stop. SO frustrating!
Called my cell at 10:am December 7'09 ~ 817-490-6499 ~ I didn't answer.
Watch these folks - a female called from this number and began to ask questions regarding an alleged citibank loan that I know is BS - but I am following up with Citibank Fraud line this week to see if they can help track these scammers down.
I would advise extreme caution in data realease to creeps like these - I let them know they are under the watchful eye....
Protect your data all - watch these people carefully - will not take call backs et. al.

They called the house at 10:29 p.m. I thought that was against the law.....
A representative from this number phones us everyday this week to speak to an employee. I tell them each time that they have called that we do not transfer calls to employees and they must try to contact them at home.
They keep calling and asking for my ex girlfriend or me.....and my fiance kind of hates it. I am pissed because I can't call back.
I also recieved calls from 817 490 6499 and when I try and call back the number is not valid. That number has also called my friend who is not on my citifinancialauto account but will not leave him any information as well. I called Citifinancial Auto and they don't know anything about that number and they do not have my friends number on my account.
I called this number and it says the call cannot be completed as dialed or number has been disconnected.
Receive a call from this number at least once a day...when i ask who it is he just says Lester..when i ask what company he's with he says he's not obiligated to tell me and can only tell the person he's trying to reach. will not leave a call back number and when i call it back it says the number is not a working number. i do have a citifinancial auto account and i know the numbers they call from and the prefix is usually 835 or 837.
This is CitiFinancialAuto usually regarding a payment not received yet.
I have been getting calls from this and a few other 817 numbers for 3 or 4 days. never a message.
Has all the earmarks of a scam.
The bad guys are probably:
1. "spoofing" the CID (faking the caller ID)
2. using "daemon dialer" software that sequentially dials an entire block of numbers. If the dialer doesn't get a live voice it automatically drops the call and moves on in the sequence.
left no voice mail. said withheld have no clue.
