On behalf of those who have previously retained us, the law firm of Fineberg Gresham is investigating complaints from consumers being harassed with calls and text messages to their cell phones. If you have received calls or text messages to your cell phone by telemarketers or others who did not have your express permission to contact your cell phone or wish to report any complaints regarding this practice, stoptelemarketingabuse.com. (this will send an email to our office). We are gathering factual information to determine the nature, extent and scope of the problem for those who have retained our law firm. All messages will be held confidential.

What Can You Do to Assist in Our Investigation?

If you have been the victim of this telemarketing abuse, preserve all facts and evidence of the unwanted calls or texts. Save the message. Most voicemail services only store messages for a few days or weeks. As a result, record the message in another place so that you have it. Save your phone bills which show when the call or text was received. Keep all evidence of the harassing calls or text messages.

More than ever, consumers are being harassed on their cell phones by telemarketers and businesses trying to sell goods or services. Unfortunately, these calls and text messages result in charges or a reduction in the consumers

00-000-000-0000 is some one who is spoofing with a IP system to try and get into you I got several calls claiming to be Visa from that number.

I received a call this afternoon/evening. When I called back I went through the "no call back" routine. Hopefully it will work. This is the 4th or so of this type of call on my cel that I have received in the past 2 weeks. One came through as "00-000-000-0000." Any thoughts as to that one?

I received 2 calls from this company. They were about a week apart.

I called back the second time, and a recording told me to hang up, said they would try calling me back. Also gave the option to be on "Do Not Call" list.

Pressed button to add number to DNC list, and entered number. Took 3 tries for it to work, had to punch in the number very quickly for it to work.

Will update again here if I hear back from them.

Hate people that call my cell number and don't leave their pitch on voice mail so you know never to answer again. Should be illegal for them to call your cell # anyway.

My phone rang around 3:05pm saying that I had a call coming in from IL. I didn't answer it, nor do I plan on calling it back.

Some pre-recorded message that called my cell phone. What really irritates me is that their stupid autodialer starts before my message starts, so I don't even know the company.

Recorded mortgage pitch. When I was transfered to an agent she identified the company as "Lender's Direct" in San Diego, California. When I asked for the telephone number, she hung up.

I received this call when my mobile rang. After a pre-recorded message, I was taken to an agent (when I pressed 1 for more info).

When I told her that I have never applied for a loan to get pre-approved, she hung up.
If I try calling the number back, the recorded message says they'll try calling me again. Outrageous ;)!

Got a call, prerecorded message offering a 1% mortgage by recorded message, I eventually was transferred to a real person...asked to be taken off of their list and...they hung up!!!

Called a couple minutes ago on my business cell, but I didn't answer. Didn't recognize the number and Googled it. Found this site.

Number has been calling my office at work. I called back and the recording said, "If you missed our call, hang up, we'll be calling you back again to offer you our great savings." But there was another option to enter my number and have it removed.

They are calling my work numbers, I have them all transferred to me and so far I've had 5 different reps, so I try to waste as much of their time as I can. Boy do they hate that, but that's what they get!

This is at least the third time this 'mortgage company' has called me on my cell phone. Finally I answered and this automated woman started babbling on about how I had a chance to save money on my mortgage, which I, funnily enough, don't have. Then she said press one and I just hung up. Hopefully they will never call again. Also, my caller id said they were calling from Illinois.

annoying... but yes, calling back gives the option to be added to a do not call list via an automated system. they are allowed to call back once after this. every additional time and they owe you $500 according to Federal Law.

People, when they call, press #1 to talk to a live rep. Then string them along for as long as you can! Tell them you're interested, give them fake personal details...really play along! I had some stupid lady on the phone for almost 5 minutes before she realized I was playing her. These chumps lose money when you tie them up on the phone, so that should be the goal!

i have someone looking into this number it will not be working for much longer i hope. The Phone Number traces back to A Mortgage company in Joliet IL no other info is know about the number.

On my cell phone appeared this number, during dinner no less. When I picked it up, it gave me a mortgage pitch, so I selected the option #1, to speak with someone. When I got a person, I blew a loud whistle right into the mouthpiece. They hung up on me without saying a word. Bet you they won't be calling again. ha ha..

I got a call from this number and 714-629-0306 within a few minutes of each other on both my cell phones. I wrote up a complaint on FTC's website. There are 3 violations: 1) calling a cell, 2) using an autodialer, and 3) using a recorded message/computer. Everyone should do the same. If they are a real mortgage company, or if they are scammers trying to phish info from you, THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED!
