Called three times in less than a 1/2 hour, look for my wife, caller would not identfy themselves and said they would try later.
The woman said she was Susan Sturgis calling on behalf of the teamsters union. She would not give up any other info. When I called the number back the first time it immediately went to a recorded message. The second time it rang for awhile before it switched to the message. The recording said "You have reached the Myer Teleservices Do Not Call Request Line. Most likely we called you on behalf of one of our political or biz to biz clients...". It then proceeded to tell me how to have our number removed from their database. I did it. Now I wonder if it will actually work.
I couldn't get out of Meyer Associates fast enough. Prior to working for Meyers, I worked as a marketer for another telemarketing company. If we had done even one tenth of what Meyer Associates does, we would never get another contribution.
* When you ask to be removed from the calling list, you will most often be told that it can take up to 30 days for this to happen. This is a boldfaced lie! Removing someone from the calling list takes only a few key strokes.
* They have calling lists that are made up entirely of senior citizens on low fixed incomes. They will call and badger these people two and three days in a row to get a contribution no matter what the size. If they still don't give anything, they will be called every single day the following week.
* During my short time with this company, I spoke with people who told me that they were receiving 5 and 6 calls a day from numbers belonging to Meyer Associates. I have no doubt that this is true.
Just being on the "National Do Not call Registry" is not enough. Political fundraising and polling calls are exempt from the DNC Registry. The politicians made sure of that. You must file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission.

If enough people file complaints with the FCC, maybe this company will be forced to stop their harassing telephone marketing practices.
one or two calls daily. No message but noise that fills answering machine. I have filed a complaint with donotcall. If it is a political call, whoever they are supporting will certainly not get my vote.
