How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Getting calls from 803-675-7659 and suffix's 7439 & 7661. In all instances they never leave a message and in all instances when I call back I get a fast busy & in all but one instance there's no reply when I pickup & answer. In one instance last week, I answered call from 803-675-7661. The caller seemed surprised I answered and he said his name was Alex and he was with ARS. WE have some crappy experience with a junk debt collector ARS aka Associated Recovery Systems aka ARS National. I asked Alex if ARS was Associated Recovery Systems and he replied YES. I attempted to tell him off but he hung up before I got to pal in "lemme tell you pal". FYI, ARS has received 3 separate certified return receipt letters from us demanding they never telephone us for any reason & we have same number they used to harass us at 2 years ago. Now it seems they've started back. In the meantime we found a lawyer in our town who has already busted two junk debt collectors & filed Fed suits on our behalf for calling when notified not to and both lawyer & we have shared several thousand dollars in settlements from those scummy junk debt collectors ... looks like ARS may be next. All this no BS, pure truth!
Called trying to collect some debt. Difficult accent to understand, may have been asian. Asked what he was talking about and who he was. He got snotty and finally asked "don't you understand english?" I hung up.
The caller ask my name,i said yes this is my name and she said she is a fhone operater,she put me on hold and a minute later she hang up
i got this call from them "hello is john there?" "noone lives here buy that name." "well is this 290-****" "ya but noone by john lives here" and then she asked "ARE YOU SURE" "yes im sure" and then she hung up that was it
they just keep hanging up
After just over a month, they call here again. When I try to clarify what this call is in regards to she hangs up quickly. She says ARS so fast it sounds like IRS-probably done to try to fool folks into taking the call. I've reported this company to the FTC for Unfair Debt Collecting. Since I use Vonage I can show every date and the time they call here for at least a year.
A collection company looking for an employee. Said the comapny was ARS their '800' number is 800.233.1258 I got a direct extension of 1148. I told her employees cannot receive personal calls at work & not to call here again. She tried to get in a verbal spar with me, I hung up. They've been advised by an empoyer to not make personal calls here so if they call again I'll report them to the FTC.
