I did not answer as I did recognize the name or phone number. They did not leave a message on my voicemail but I could hear a lot of commotion and voices in the background. Sounds like a call center.

THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAM PROS. STAY AWAY FROM THEM. I HAVE CLIENTS WHO WERE TAKE FOR A LOT OF MONEY. THEY WILL BEGIN SENDING BILLS FOR SERVICES YOU DID NOT ASK FOR OR RECEIVE AND TURN YOU OVER FOR COLLECTION. THE AMOUNTS ARE RELATIVELY SMALL AND FIGHTING THEM WOULD COST MORE THAN JUST TO PAY THEM TO GO AWAY. AVIOD THE PROBLEM AND JUST HANG UP AND REPORT THEM TO YOUR LOCAL STATE NUSIENCE CALL CENTER AND THE NATIONAL NUMBER.

These people are from "The Local Yellow Pages" and are requesting business info. It is a classic scam to get an employee of a business to authorize a "listing" where they can then charge the company a lot of money. They have called my store at least 50 times in 12 months and I have referred them to my corporate office but they persist. I have resorted to screaming at them DO NOT EVER CALL HERE AGAIN and pushing buttons on the phone, but they will keep calling. I am going to try and have the number blocked.

Without identifying themselves a lady read off a list of questions. What is the business, who is the site manager, how many employees, annual revenu..etc.

Got a call on a listener-line from this number. It was a teenage girl who asked if this was really a radio station and if she was on the air after I said the name of the station when I answered the phone. She asked how long we'd been in business and who our manager was. I told her this wasn't a business line she called and tried giving her our main number. She was more interested in asking what music we played and if she could request a song. I explained we were a News/Talk station and didn't play music and tried again to give her the main office number. I guess in India they only play music on the radio. Eventually towards the end of the call her fake-English broke down and I could tell she wasn't just a dumb caller looking for a shout-out. I *69'd the line after I hung up and was led here. I wonder if this is the same douches who call and ask who cleans our offices.

After I answered, foreign-accented man simply asked, "May I have your address?" No ID of company, no, "Hello, my name is...and I'm calling from...to..." C'mon, basic telephone courtesy, please!

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
