I do NOT want to take any kind of survey from these people.
Apparently this is who is calling. This is telemarketing and
we are on the Do-Not-Call Registry -- so why do they call?
Very annoying.

I have been receiving these calls every day for two weeks however I have never used
Kinkos or FedEx ever in my life and yet I am getting these calls. Therefore, I don't
Think FedEx or Kinkos is the source of the compromise. P.S., I don't work for either of these companies.

Rate of Web recreation site. It has various tactics to make more money this year to Fortune 500 firms tens of millions of dollars.

If almost everyone does not answer these calls that are from numbers they don't recognize, what percentage of contact do these "survey" firms actually make? And of the people who do answer, how many are someone just dying to talk to ANYONE? I would think the type of respondents they are getting would severely skew the data.

Used Fedex-Kinkos online two days ago and now getting calls at 6:15pm est.... such crap wasn't going to put my number in there next time I will make up phone numbers lol

The penalty in this case is zero. Your ''criminal prosecution'' over a civil matter would be laughed from the courtroom.

The DNC registry is for telemarketers, meaning sales, meaning all surveyors are exempt. The following URL links to the FTC FAQ page which the DNC site _twice_ begged you to read before you registered your numbers. See items 28 through 32.

Now if you want to press a point that the survey is a perfunctory front for a sales campaign, as in the current trend of English-challenged security system hawkers who want you to count the smoke alarms in your home, then you might be on steadier legal ground.

If you want the calls to stop you must revoke call permission directly with the caller. If it doesn't happen verbally, put your demand on paper and send it USPS Certified with return card. You can also try complaining to the entity which hired the surveyor.

This number has called my office twice today with no one on the other end. The call terminates after 3-5 seconds.
Research showed this number belonging to Western Wats, a data collection/survey agency. They are based in Ogden, Utah.
Based on the lack of anyone on the other end of the line, I would say they are inept at their job and really should refund all client fees. Further, criminal prosecution should be brought to bear as they consistantly call people on the No Call List. Apparently they have never heard of it.
What exactly is the penalty for calling persons on the No Call List?

We have received calls with annoying beeping on answering machine. We are also 2 counties outside of Richmond. Number is from Ogden, UT.

claimed to be representing The City of Richmond surveying how to improve the city. we're 40 miles and two counties away.

I used FedEx/Kinko's just last week and suddenly we are receiving calls from this number. No one says anything when we answer. It can not be coincidence that all of those who have posted has used Kinkos. This is the utmost in violation of privacy in my opinion and I am offended that they shared my phone number with some outside company.

I too received this call but didn't answer it since I didn't recognize the number. Two suggestions for everyone: if you have a cell phone then go to your account on line and block the number or call Fed Ex directly and complain to someone who is in charge, get a name and then call them each time you get the call.

I got called by this number today and used Fed Ex Kinko's on Saturday.

After looking at toher's comments, I realized that it must be the Fed Ex Kinko's calling. I used the Fed Ex Kinko's in Glendale, CA this past monday to mkae copies, but never gave permission for them to call me.

This number has called my house every day for the last week. I have never used Fed EX or Kinko's - We use UPS - they don't leave messages I googled this # and called it back.

I just received a call from 801-823-2033. Didn't answer since I didn't recognize the number although I did receive another call from them last Sunday--why Sunday? I have had something copied a couple of times but never left my phone number or name--and I wouldn 't have left my home phone number anyway. Also have not sent anything or received anything using Fed Ex so they have NO reason to call me. I also am on the national DO NOT CALL list.

they also keep calling me back. i am on all the do not call lists. i guess i'll shut off my home phone and let at&t deal with it.maybe someday when everyone shuts off their land lines they'll put a stop to it.

This is FedEx Office calling to follow up on the order you placed with them. It is a standard customer satisfaction survey. Since they are not selling you anything and are making sure the service they provided met your expectations, they are not covered by the Federal "do not call" list. So don't report them and use up resources that could be used to pursue real violations.

I ordered online from Fedex Kinkos yesterday, and today I received this phone call. I reported them to DoNotCall.gov since I'm on the Do Not Call list

I also had the fed ex/ kinkos scenario play out. I emailed my print job to them and they took my cell # to call me when it was ready. Now.I'm getting calls from Watts as well ON MY CELL. Not happy!

And yes, FedEx Office / Kinko's sold your number, even though they will be clueless as to what you are talking about and will most likely emphatically deny doing so.

Received a call from this number, rep claimed to be with Suntrust Bank (which is not my bank.) Asking about recent Kinkos transaction. Told him that the amount he was talking about was not an amount of any Kinkos transaction I had requested. Probably was a survey, but I ended the call.

I fit the FedEx Office/Kinkos theory as well. Just picked up an order from them a week ago (first time in over a year).

I've gotten a call from this number several times the last few days. I don't use Kinko's...I do use Fedex but they don't have my home phone number....It's yet to ring my office.

I used the FedEx Kinko's office in New Orleans for some printing in March. Today I received a call from 801/823-2033 on my cell. I did not answer and no message was left. After finding this site I called FedEx and spoke to McKinzie in the "Kinko's area". She admitted that the calls were made as part of a customer survey program and offered to have my number removed from future contacts. I provided delisting information and expressed my my great disappointment that they disclosed personal information about me. To make your voice heard with FedEx, call 800/463-3339 and continue through the options till you get to ask for a representative. Then ask for the "Kinko's Office" department and let them know what you think. If we waste enough of their time, then the outside calls won't be worth it for them either. Good luck.

3 calls in a row all on my cell phone. the third time i picked up, because i had checked out this site and saw that it was a company unrelated to fed-ex but had all my info from fed-ex... i told them they got my number unlawfully and they would be reported to the BBB if the calls continue, and hung up. i suggest everyone else here do the same....

Just spoke to Charles W A at Cablevision on Long Island 516-803-2300. He provided me with a "No call" number Cablevision has set up for the purpose of ending these sale calls. It is - 888-425-2088. It may take about a month to be come active. If you are as mad at Cablevision as I am (calling almost every day for many months and the one last night was 9 pm) call Charles W A at the 516 number above or go directly to the 888 number.

I received 2 missed calls from this number. It's Kinkos trying to take a customer satisfaction survey. Calm down everyone it's not that big of a deal and if it is to you then you should get a life!

Had Kinko's in Santa Cruz, CA do a print job on 8/31. Gave them my cell # so they could contact me when the job was done. I got 2 calls from 801-823-2033 today. I didn't answer as I usually don't with unfamiliar numbers. If they keep calling I will answer and tell them to take a hike! I am also going to file a complaint with Kinko's, as I think it is slimy.

Just got another call. This time it was a survey for Kinko's FedEx. Buggers, they know when I eat!

Had Kinko's in Minnetonka, MN run a small job for me on Monday of this week. When initiating the prints the service person asked that I give me contact info. I questioned it because they never do so when I'm waiting for prints. I was in a hurry so I complied. Then today, two days after the job was printed, I get this call from 801-823-2033. Rang once and hung up. Call it back and I get a piercing fax machine-sounding tone.

I had a call today, but they didn't leave a message. Like almost everyone else on this board, I had a print job done at Fedex Kinko's last week, but I never would have connected those dots.

Also had a Kinkos job a couple of weeks ago. They leave no message and no one is there. I guess because they have a "business relationship" they are technically off of DNC protocols. They have lost my business. Staples for me from now on.

I STRONGLY urge you to call the office of the CEO for any company that Western Wats may call you about. Let them know that invading the privacy of your home with unwanted phone calls is NOT the way to keep you as a customer. Point out that they don't need a parasite like Western Wats to get customer feedback, because when they get it wrong (like now) you'll let them know, for free. Tell them that while you realize Western Wats is technically exempt from the DNC list, you expect companies to respect the intent of the list, not to worm their way through a legal loophole. Point out that good customer service includes respect for the customers, and ignoring DNC status is VERY disrespectful of customers wishes.

No message left. I had a washer/dryer delivered from Home Depot a few days ago. Perhaps someone was following up with the delivery company (GE or Linnstar).

Survey company, that my apartment complex contracted to. Operator was very nice when I said I could not take the call and offered to call back. I asked them to call back "later" and they did so I took the call the second time around.

Myself and fiance just signed up to Tmobile a few days ago, we're just new in the country, and have been bombarded with calls from some Western Watts survey company. We haven't given our number out to many people yet and Tmobile have completely washed their hands of this saying they don't sell our details to there companies. There is no other way anyone could have gotten our number

This is definitely related to FedEx-Kinko's (could also be other companies). I had an issue with them calling me at all hours of the day/night, multiple times a day, for several days. It took awhile for even FedEx to admit they were associated with this. After assuring me last time I used them for a print job it would not happen again, I am getting the calls again after placing a print job a couple days ago.I called the number someone posted a few comments down, and requested that my number be added to their internal do not call list. Hopefully that works.

I answered the call. Was told it was a survey to see if I was satisfied with service. Then asked if I had recently done a transaction at ..... they said the name of my bank! I told the female on the other end of the line that I did not confer personal business over the phone and hung up. I have not been to Kinko's so that wasn't related to my call. I have caller ID that shows on my TV screen. It said Utah and the number 801-823-2033. No Fed EX either.

Yes, it seems to be FedEx Kinkos. Nobody is ever on the other end of the line, and they keep calling back every day. I have tried to call their Customer Relations number to be removed and they sometimes admit to the calls and sometimes not.

I just got a call from 801-823-2033 for the first time ever, and I also sent a print job to Kinko's only 2 days ago, also first time ever!!! The connection seems quite clear, right?

Yeah, FedEx/Kinkos is the company they identify themselves with, whoever they are. They thought they were talking to a real person and not my answering machine and blurred a message identifying themselves with FedEx/Kinkos. It tracks to what others said since I just picked up a print job from them last week. It's unsolicited, and the third party survey comments others have made, track. I suspect it's an off-shore operation. I guess I'll take my print jobs back to Staples.

After calling back 3 times it finally told me the name of the company "Western Watts" which is some sort of independant marketing research company.

when this number calls, it sounds as if there is someone in the background shuffling papers. i keep saying "hello" but the papers keep shuffling and no one ever answers. my son thinks someone's cell phone accidentally got dialed while in their pocket. does that sound plausible? and always the same number?
