contact@opinionology.com Western Watts, on their website, says to email them at this email and ask your number to be taken off of their calling list. The site says they can call because they are marketing researchers, not telemarketers. Thank goodness for phones with call blockers!

Didn't recognize #. Answered phone (as uasual in such a case) saying: "_____ Police Department". BOY! Did THAT get rid of them in a hurry! (Works every time!!)

Bob, the huge majority of comments here describe actions of a survey firm, and a fairly well known one. Very infrequent past comments talk about collections skip tracing. It's certainly possible, and would be unsurprising, for a collection agency to unlawfully spoof a legit surveyor. Whichever the case, no one who smells a rat is compelled to reply to one.

I'm accused of shilling for some unpopular industry or another about monthly. All I've done is to point out realities of the rules we live under and the limits on our ability to complain about perfectly legal caller behavior. But while you're learning the rules you can learn your rights, which will help you to sniff out genuinely illegal behavior and combat it.

Here we go again. I'm begining to think they are NOT a collection agency. What is that Resident47 person? A shill for the bad guys maybe?

Got a call from (801) 823-2020. They said they were a collection agency looking for someone. Sounds like they were skip tracing to me.

NEVER LEAVE A MESSAGE. HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES OVER A COUPLE DAY SPAN. I HAVE UNLISTED NUMBER AND DO NOT PROVIDE WHEN ASKED, SO UNKNOWN HOW THEY GOT MY NUMBER.

IT WAS A WOMAN ON THE LINE SHE TRIED TO OVER TALK ME AND KEPT TRYING TO EXPLAIN SHE WANTED TO GET MY INFO ON HEALTHCARE WHEN I ASKED HER NOT TO CALL BACK OR TO PUT ME ON THE DO NOT CALL LIST SHE SIGHED AND HUNG UP ON ME

And, they called again at 2130 (9:30PM). How is this sh*t even legal??

Didn't answer...went to voice-mail, but no message left. One hour later, another call from a similar number (801-823-2023). Let that go and do the same thing (no VM left).

Received multiple calls within last week or so from this number. After some poking around I found their direct line is 801-373-7735 for the in-house no call list. I called and left a message with my number to be removed from their calling list. Hopefully it works.

I picked up ...caller said, "I am with Winston Research and I'm calling for the adult in the house for a survey".
I told her, "I'm going to bed, it's very late to be calling for this" a second person said, "I'm sorry to disturb you" and hung up.
I mistakenly took one of their surveys last year, now all of them call me. Don't do it!!!

anytime you get a phone call and nobody is on the line do this hit the # button 6 or7 times this confuses the machine and kicks your nimber out of their system

calls every night 7:45 to 8:00. No reply if we answer the phone. No message when the voice mail answers.

This number continues to call and call.Sometimes they say they are looking for someone (a name of someone who doesn't live here), sometimes they claim they are taking a survey and other times it's just dead air on the phone. I don't know what the deal is but it is very annoying and I wish there was some way to make they stop. No matter how many times I ask them to stop calling...that phone starts rining AGAIN.

If anyone knows who this is or has talked with anyone from this number, please tell me who they are so the next time I am in UT I can go to their place and ring their neck!!!!Wish there was some sort of Do Not Call List in the US??? Oh wait, there is...What a freaking joke!

Called my cell phone, said she was from Winston Research. Told her that this was a cell phone and to remove this number from their lists.

No Answer when I called this number back, but I changed the last number such that I dialed 801-823-2020 and got Western Lot Center - a telephone survey and research firm. #fail

When I answered the phone there was no one on the other end. No one answered when I said Hello. I think it is safe to assume it was a computer generated call.

westernwatts.com is the webpage I was directed to when I called back. She was pleasant, I was my ordinary obnoxious self and she decided that their number quota was full.

Received a call last night (5/6/10) at 8:50 P.M. Pretty late to be receiving calls from people you don't know. When I answered the phone with a couple of "Hello's", there was no response so I hung up. I tried calling the number back this morning, even though I don't know anyone in Ogden, UT, but keep getting a busy signal?????????

Received several calls most of them later in the evening up to 10:00pm. Tonight they stated they where JD Powers and asked to talk to the adult of the house. When we stated there are only adults in this household, they hung up.

first call they asked for an adult member on the answer machine!! the second call i answered and they said ther were taking a survey i told them i wasnt interested!! Scam iam sure!!!

They called on a Sunday at 5:30 asking for an "adult member of the household". Clearly they weren't calling for a purpose or else they would have asked for someone specifically. Since I rarely answer my phone I scrolled through the missed call log and see that they call back to back on most weekend evenings. Which to me says its someone trying to get information they don't need

They haven't called since I put in my caller ID and they got my answering machine instead of voice mail. (My phone co. charges extra for calling in to pick up voice mail so I stopped using it)

They call almost every day and when they call (I refuse to answer any call that is identifiable as as person), they let the phone ring for a few times and then call right back. I have now blocked them on my phone so they will get a busy signal from now on.

Call is from third party - calling on behalf of a debt collector who is looking to verify data illegally.

I didn't answer and let machine get it. they didn't leave a msg but let the machine run out, maybe thinking I would pick up eventually? Never let you kids pick up the phone when you aren't home unless a family member calls! I think this may be a scam or hacker perhaps?

Wanted to do a customer survey. As far as I know, this is not a scam. They already had my husband's name, that's who they asked for.

Advice for this number, or any number that you do not know, DO NOT call the unknown number or caller back. More than likely, they have caller ID and would then have your number as well as your name. Then, next time they call, with possibly a different number, they could ask for you by name. It just gives the scam artists more to work with, to their advantage.

This number has called my home, starting from noon to 4:00pm, every two hours. When I answer, there is nothing on the other end. If the answering machine picks up, there is no message left. All that I could find out about the number is that it is from Utah.

Was called by this number today, asking if we had gone to the bank any time in the previous week. Daughter answered the phone, gave out no information. Have tried to call the number repeatedly and only get a busy signal. Will ignore this call from now on and am going to report it to Chase Bank.

This Guy called as a "UTAH CALL" and identified himself as Don Garcia calling on behalf of Washington Mutual. Well, No one in this household has anything to to with Washington Mutual, and the caller never asked for a SPECIFIC person by name. Therefore, it's probably a scam artist claiming to be someone he is not, from a fake number, in attempts of Phishing and or identity theft! DO NOT engage these callers.

No response when I answered the phone. Our caler ID read Ogden, UT.

Received 2 calls, 1st didn't get to in time, then they called right back but I couldn't understand the name they were asking for, told them they had the wrong number. I called it back since I'm new to MI, not alot of people have my new phone number but family and when I did, got an taped recording saying it was the Kaiser group and if I had a medical emergency or was contemplating suicide to hang up and call 911, then preceded to ask me if I wanted to be directed to one of the 2 different facilities. Weird.

We get a couple calls a day from this number. They hang on long enough to let voice mail pick up and then don't leave a message. We called back, and there was dead silence on the other end both times we called.

advice to you youngers...I never answer a phone.
if it is family or friends, they will leave a message, otherwise
who cares who it is. if you don't have caller ID, get it

They have called twice between the hours of 5p.m. and 7.p.m. and know my name and say they are from My bank. They do not leave a message.

This number has called me every day between 2pm and 5pm for the past month and a half. Sometimes two or three times a day. Now that I recognize it, I let it go to my answering machine and they do not leave a message. I called this number back and a recording makes a reference to their web site: westernwats.com

"TNS" selling phone service

They wanted the person who makes the decision about the phone system. I asked to be put on their Do Not Call List and they tried to handle my request as a "sales objection" by telling me they weren't trying to sell me anything. I had to hang up.

Less than 3 minutes after their last call to me (see my entry just above), I received a call from virtually the same number (801-823-2923) which turned out to be a polling firm, who wanted to ask me political questions. After a few questions, it became apparent the questions were phrased in a manner to produce a positive feeling toward Republicans and negative feeling toward Democrats; that is, it was a "push" poll. I refused to answer any more questions and demanded the name of the firm behind the poll. They are the Winston Group (found online at WinstonGroup.net).

I let the call go to my answering machine because I didn't recognize the number (or even the area code). No message was left.

Someone from this number called today and was VERY persistant. First they wanted the person who makes the decision about our phone system, then they wanted the person who KNOWS about our phone system, then they wanted the office manager. I told him that there is no-one here like that...for all of those. He was incredulous. I really, really wanted to hang up on him.

Keep getting calls from this number. Tried to call back but the line is busy. Tried to answer but I get hung up on.
