Who Called Us

This was a switchboard number so they asked what company called me. In my case a message was left that it was Wellcare - my Rx insurance company. They were following up on a call I had made re a problem 2 days ago and it had been assigned to a rep who was calling to help resolve this.

From reading other complaints here it does look like this # does handle other companies besides Welcare, so whether all are legitimate calls or some might be from telemarketers I have no idea....as I said it is just a switchboard #. If you don't want them to call you again, you can call and advise the operator who answers and she will take your # off the call list.

Just rec'd call from this number, thought it was telemarketer. It was Priceline calling about upcoming trip, important call to confirm details w/hotel. Seems not all calls from this number are junk calls. Seems like call center used by all sorts of companies, glad I listened to message left on voice mail.

Called twice in a row. Firs time did nothing but play very loud, obnoxious music for like a minute until I just hung up. Second time 10 minutes later I let it go to voicemail and they left nothing but 2 minutes of loud obnoxious sounding music playing until my VM timed them out.

we get these calls all day long. They laugh and then they say they are Bank of America. They want information.

Call came in as "UNAVAILABLE"; here on this site the call is reported to be from Teleperformance.

I didn't know who Teleperformance (TPUSA & CallTech) was or who they represented when this call came in but I discovered in trying to find out more about Teleperformance that they are the subject of a current collective/class action lawsuit to recover alleged unpaid wages and overtime at their call centers. tpclassaction.com Vermin cheating their employees while the big boys of their boardroom are probably pulling down 7 figure paychecks & princely perks.

I discovered that in 2003, Sprint outsourced their customer service function to Teleperformance. teleperformance.com

Sprint has been doing a lot of outsourcing. The tech/maintainence functions of Sprint/Nextel were just outsourced to the Swedish company Erickson this spring - Big news in the Swedish newspapers and a fat contract for them. So the tech who now fixes the cell phone systems' problems isn't a Sprint/Nextel employee...they got laid-off...but an Erickson employee.

I suppose the day will soon come when the only actual employees on the Sprint payroll will be the corporate executives pulling in their multi-million $ pay checks with all the other jobs at sprint having been outsourced to one company or another.

We probably got the call because we Sprint for our long distance. B of A also uses Teleperformance and we have a B of A credit card so it could be them too.

It is a call center. They work for several Large companies. Type in TeleperformanceUSA in a search engine and go to their website. They have a link for a DNC (Do Not Call) registration. You can enter your name, number & e-mail to be taken off the call list.

I just received a call from this number and after googling it, found this website. I did as was suggested and called the # back to have my number removed. Well guess what? I received a recorded message saying that they were sorry they missed me, please call back during normal business hours. It is 10 am!!!!!!!!!!!

They called at 8:45 p.m. on 03/04/09. My roommate answered and it took several seconds before a "human" came on. They asked for me by my 1st name and when my roommate said I was not available and asked if she could take a message, they said no that they would try again at a more convenient time. Excuse me, calling at 8:45 p.m. is bad enought but to say they are calling back at a more convenient time, must be they will call again at dinner time. With Caller ID and if I am home, then there will NEVER be a convenient time.

It is me again. Interestingly, B o A has been fined and lost legal fees $$$$ in court for its arrogance and disregard for the public and its customers. The short article can be viewed at (junkcalls.nfshost.com).

I have wasted many phone calls to AT&T, they are about as bad or worse than BoA. After three separate long waiting periods and annoying computer voice handoffs and then reaching human beings they failed to tell me that my that their advise for use of the Screen Out Unwanted Calls feature (*60) does not work outside my calling area, i.e., does not work on almost all long distance calls. Unless I lived in the local calling area of the offending Utah Teleperformance company call center their is nothing can do about it.

I am a customer of both and own stock in BofA and I can see why our country is tanking. The arrogance of corporate America. I did finally get some useful info from the Annoyance Call Bureau 1-800-348-8727, but no need to call them probably. Two things to do stop calls now (within 72 hours) and in the next 5 years. As others may have already mentioned here, register with the national do not call part of the FTC (donotcall.gov) and follow their email followup confirmation email to assure your number is registered. Save this info in case calls come in the future, heavy fines/day for offenders. Second and begrudgingly go to the Teleperformance web site ( teleperformance.com ) to take your name and number off their calling list. I hate to even do that, but the phone calls would otherwise continue (possibly) for 30 days as FTC allows.
This kind of waste of my life is so madding, so with others help and my experience listed here maybe others can reduce the grief. Thanks to this website for helping me see that I was not alone.

after reading the other complaints it was obvious that bank of america was the culprit for 2-3 calls a day with no message. i called them and explained that even though they can call me because i do business with them they do not have the right to sell my name to a marketing company selling their add ons. the apologized and said IF the calls were from them they would stop today. i told them that if they do not stop today i will move to another bank and file an official complaint with the DoNotCall people, $15,000 fines per call will slow them down or start another need for a new stimulus package(

If not, don't waste your time because I won't be answering if I don't recognize the number. And I have never agreed or bought ANYTHING over a solicitation like this. Send me something in the mail. I work on behalf of bank of america/fia card services. In fact I'm of the people who are answering the phone. what BofA/fIA card services is doing is rerouting the calling to the custormer marketing Deptmant. BofA is setting people up for a sales call when they call back. BofA wants you to call so that the agent can then sell you a balance transfer or a credit protection plus or some other product that most people don't need. If you want this to stop, I reccomend that you call your congressional representative or the media.

Getting a few calls a day - never leave a message and this morning when I answered no one was there. To the poster "no name" why should I have to call back to get removed? And make a long-distance call at my own expense? That's a lousy business practice to me. Sounds like it's time to look into alternatives to B of A - they've been more trouble than they're worth since they took over MBNA (and my credit card account). I started seeing this number showing up on my caller ID #1 801 257 6155,It appears someones calling at least 3 to 4
times a day.This started about two weeks ago and just two minutes ago phone rang checked and it was the same number.
I plan on telling the BBB too about this!.Shame on you folks!.

When you dial this number, the rep can help you. You do need to give her your phone number to have it removed. This is a switchboard, and the rep has NO INFORMATION ABOUT YOU. The rep DOES NOT make out-bound calls, and IS NOT the one who called and hung up. The rep can let the supervisor know if you were treated rudely. Again, you have to provide your phone number.
Feel free to yell--the volume control works great. You'll still get helped, but the rep will not be so nice after she is yelled and cussed at for something she didn't do. Continue to hang up, also--it's one less jerk the rep has to deal with.

Among the worst pests I've ever encountered (and I'm 68 years old!). Calls come every evening, including weekends and holidays. Of course, they never leave a message. I'm convinced the DNC List is a joke.

Caller ID shows calls coming in almost daily around the same times. Happened to pick up on one and telemarketer said she could only speak directly to the Mr. ________ (me). Kept asking for me even after I identified myself and finally said if there were any questions to call this number and quickly rattled off an unintelligible string of numbers.

These people call several times a day and hang up. I've read a lot of the posts here, then did some other research. Effective 10/1/2008 Bank of America apparently changed its marketing policies. There was a little slip of paper mailed out to BofA members called a "Federally Required Affliate Marketing Notice". On it it lists BofA companies that market to consumers. Teleperformance is not listed, but could be a subsidary of one of the about 2 dozen companies listed. At the bottom of the page it says "To limit marketing offers, contact us a 800-282-2884". I just did that, they said it would take up to 12 WEEKS for the calls to stop (gee, no need to rush or anything). I also did as someone suggested and called Teleperformance. They were very nice and said they would take my number off their list--whether they do or not will be the big question!

You will keep getting calls until your AG actually has time to call the rep and get your number removed. Rep doesn't care how your number is removed, so make it hard on yourself and your AG if you want. It IS possible to be angry and polite--many people have been! Please stop treating rep like s***!!! Thank you!!!!

When you call 1-801-257-6155, you have to actually TALK to the rep to get your phone number removed from the call list. Teleperformance calls on behalf of many banks and cell phone companies. B of A is the biggest client.

This Teleperformance company has been calling at least 2 - 3 times every day for the last 2 weeks. When my answering machine picks up they do not leave a message - It's very annoying.

In order to be removed from Teleperformance USA's call list, you cannot tell the rep who calls to remove your phone number, becase they cannot. You need to call 1-801-257-6155, and the rep there can remove your phone number from the calling list. It can take up to 30 days to be removed, just like with the Federal do not call registry. Bank of America has no control over Teleperformances procedures. The rep at 1-801-257-6155 does NOT make any out-bound calls, and is NOT the one who hangs up on or doesn't say anything. That is an auto-dialer.

This is the tech support number from Vonage. When they call me per my request, the caller ID says Teleperformance.

This is Bank of America. Bank of America uses an outsourced company to harass their customers with cheesy credit protection offers. Bank of America is the worst bank in the world, by the way, charging their customers hundreds of dollars in fees, etc. If you know what is good for you, you will quite these bastards and go with someone else. The calls will stop.

driving me nuts with these phone calls. they also called on Saturday afternoon. I did what another caller suggested. I said hello, very rudely, and when they finally asked to speak to me I said 'hold on', put the phone down and continued watching foodtv. I hung the phone up 20 minutes later!! ha ha.

It seems like I am suddenly getting all kinds of these calls from this entity as well as Mitchell M. Kay (they sometimes leave a message), Navigata, Allied Interstate (left a message similar to the Mitchell M. Kay one) and I get loads of calls with no information, just a number. Most never leave a message. I have no creditors who aren't being paid. Once I called one of them back and they asked for my SSN and I refused to give it to them and they asked if the last four digits were #### and I said no. They said that they were looking for someone else with the same name. Then they continue to call me! How can we make them stop? I am on the Do Not Call Registry.

They've called 7 times. I see from others that it's Bank of America. Not going to answer it now. I have a boa card, but didn't sign up for them. It was originally a card with MBNA America, but they were bought out by BOA.

Feb 14, 2008: They have been calling me 4 times a day/night for a week now;I called them back & told them to remove my number,which they won't do I'm sure. Have received 2 to 3 calls a day from this number for the past several weeks, no message is left on my answering machine after it has picked up. I finally called this number today and asked who they were and they identified themselves as Teleperformance. I asked them for the reason that they called and they said that they were calling on behalf of a business that I have had business with, I asked for the name of the referring company and they were not able to or would not tell me. I also asked why they do not leave messages or identify their number for CID again they were not able to or would not tell me. I informed them that my telphone number has been registered on the National Do Not Call registry and that they must remove my number immediately and make no further attempts to contact me. They said that my number would be removed from their call list within 31 days.

Friends, Two Things. (1) Don`t get upset, It is a subcontractor for Bank America. In other words, B.O.Amer. has sold your info. to a sales solicitation company. (2) If you can afford it, have your phone co. install "Call screening" on your line for about $5.00/$6.00, then when they call, You block their number. They will try other numbers, but this way, when they rotate their numbers, you can rotate your "blocking" of same, there by eventually they leave you alone. Usually, you will have satisfaction in about a month. And it is fun watching them trying to figure this out. What a way to get back at them. And it works!!!!!!!

Rang once or twice.-Onpickup heard "Fax" tone. Then they disconnected after a couple of seconds. This call may have been sent to either NY of Fl number.

This company calls me almost daily. First I get this number then right after that, I get two more calls from different area codes. I think it's the same company using different linking junctions. I am retired and used to work for one of the largest telemarking firms in America back in the early 80s. Believe me, there were rules that most companies followed. Now, it's a nightmare. I even get calls at midnight from this number. So, you want to know why they call and don't say anything. Simple, they charge by the call. If this company is representing BofA or anyother company, they can prove with calling records that your (or my) number was called and either no answer, which they still charge for, or, if like me, my answer machine picks up, they get to make a larger charge. It's all about the money. They have a computer program that selects numbers by random. When they turn out to be working numbers, they can charge their clients. We need to stop this by letting our congress persons know. I am! It will take a while, but if enough people complain, the squeeky wheel will get the oil.

They have called a minimum 2x a day for over a week now. I have written to Bank of America to stop sharing my information. I have also filed a complaint with do not called - I recommend everyone do the same, then they migh actually get shut down - or at least stop the unsolicited calls.

I have a very long, comical answering machine message. it lasts about two minutes total. they didn't stay on the line long enough to leave a message. Once again, my annoyingly long message saves the day from annoying callers!

I am so sick of this unknown number calling me! they call 3-5 times per day...

this company, Teleperformance, called and said they were "Bank Of America" calling about my checking account!! they were trying to get me to buy a credit report! I am following up with BOA and I suggest people start to get annoyed with BOA and other Credit Agencies selling your private information to crooks.

Telemarketer.. I didn't give them a chance... I just hung up on them.

They call 2-3 times per day always at different times. I never answer- I dispise telemarketers.

I picked up the first call and they asked for my son who no longer lives with me. They have been calling one or two times a day since. Since they do not have my name, and undoubtedly got my number from some of his shenanigans, how can I get rid of them? Does do not call list also work with just the number?

I've been receiving calls from these a-holes, never picked up until today - dead air, so I called them and ripped the person a new one. They got my info from bank of america. I told them NO MORE CALLS, they placed me on the "do not call list"... so we'll see

I got calls from teleperformance at least 20 times. I did not pick up. They did not leave msgs. My CID is full of "teleperformance" ID, time and date. It is just annoying. Will report to "Do not Call" for this number.

At least 2 calls per day, every day, from this number show up on the caller ID every day. I called it back one time and recd the message that it was a non-working number. Irritating and odd!

These people have called more than 20 times in the past month, never leaving a message. They are marketing additional services from Bank of America, so if you do any business with BoA, they're exempt from your DNC order. Problem is, they don't listen when you tell them the person they want to reach is not available during the day. They apologize or promise to call back in the evening and a different caller is ringing again the next morning. If it keeps up, I'm going to complain to BoA.

These people called for.. privacy protection on my bank account.. I am not sure why, however, they new my name and address. They claimed to be with BofA. They did follow the policy they follow by not asking for bank account information or ssc number info. So I dont know if this is a prank call or not.

do not pick up phone, you might get long distance charges on your phone bill

second, block them

third, banks will never call you for information, if the call is on behalf of a bank, it's always telemarketing

fourth, file complaint with do not call list, if you are on this list, and the caller violates this, they are fined 11,000 per call to you. :-)

For the past 2 weeks, I've been getting a minimum of 3 calls/day from this number. When I pick it up, there is no one there, just random sounds. If it is BOA, that would be weird as I ended my relationship with BOA months ago due to the selling of personal information. If it is WaMu, that would be more understandable as they are my current bank, but still annoying and I will be contacting WaMu to resolve this issue.

This website is very useful to inform consumers. I have already placed my name on the FTC Do Not Call list. I have a banking relationship with Bank of America. I called the bank and informed them that if they did not promptly resolve this problem that I would end my banking relationship with them. The representative asked for identifying information. After this confirmation, and after supplying my email address, she confirmed that I would be receiving a letter in the mail in the next five days confirming that Bank of America would stop these solicitations via phone and via email.

I got called from this number, and it was a representatvice from WaMu
(Washington Mutual Bank).

I also have been getting calls from 801 257 6155, twice a day. I've asked them to stop calling us, but we are being ignored Is there any way to stop these call. From the list on the right it seems like they are getting away with this nuisance calling . How can we stop them?

I googled this obviously, said its a scam from possibly Bank of America.. my advice don't answer.

801-257-6155 is calling my home EVERYDAY and EVERYNIGHT ringing the phone 2 to 3 times and when I answer they say NOTHING! Except for today, a women said "Elizabeth" and that is all! This is making me INSANE!

I started receiving calls from them about two weeks ago. They let the phone ring twice then, hang up.
They call back within a few minutes for another two rings, then hang up again. I have no clue what they want but, just cancelled my credit card with Bank of America.

Call says "UNKNOWN NAME" but identified themselves as Bank of America. They did accurately tell me the last four digits of my account number (doesn't really mean anything) and they were trying to sign me up for something that they said didn't require a sign up (!!!?!?!?!) That makes a lot of sense, doesn't it? I told them do NOT sign me up for anything, send me info in the mail and I will look at it.

Got a call from this number this evening. Unknown number. I am a BofA customer, but the woman asked for me by my maiden name (I've been married for over a year). Seems fishy for that to be a call from the bank.

I just got another call from this number: 801-257-6155. Before they hang-up, this time I said I would report them to BBB if they don't stop the harassment. A lady answered in a few and said "this is...on behalf of Bank of America...."I was so upset. I just asked her to take me on a do not call list & that it's a extremely bad for biz for Bank of America to harass people like this, to call & hang up....she said I did not hang up. Not her but whoever have been calling fromt hat number rom before have been hanging up. She was calling "on behalf of Bank of American"

The last call from "Utah's" 801-257-6155 was on 3/2/07. They've been calling for the past month on my biz line. Hang up immediately whn I or voice mail picks up their call. I'm searching now trying to figure out who it's. I hope Bank of America isn't giving out info....

Got called again this morning from Tele-Performance. Needless to say, I went down to my bank (Bank of America) and canceled my account with them. I don't understand why this bank is so pushy when they want you to purchase a service that I don't want. Tele-Performance won't stop calling me even after I tell them not to call me anymore. So I'll try another bank hopefully one thats not sooo pushyyy.

I'm also getting calls from Teleperformance(801-257-6155). Today I returned their phone call and told them, not to pleasantly, to stop harrassing me. I was told by the Rep. that Bank 0f America gave them my personal phone number. Later today I'm going to discuss this with the bank manager of my bank (Bank of America). I quess the only way to get this bank to stop giving out personal information is to withdraw my funds. Hit these A__holes in the wallet. When enough people start withdrawing their funds from this bank, maybe they will quit giving out personal information.

I picked up today. They said they were Banc of America (I think the foreign branch). I told them they called me at work, and they apoligized and hung up -- but they did have my name to ask for me when I picked up. My line is not really a published line -- I have an 800 work number that rolls into it -- so I don't give it out under the local number. Someone had to provide them with a directory or the like for them to have access to it.

Teleperformance USA. They are an outsourcing company based in France that does business with both Bank of America and Intersections Inc., who are both affiliated. They offered the 30-day free trial to Bank of America's Privacy Assist Credit Reports. I believe they are a legitimately invovled third party with Bank of America, but never do these things over the phone. Initiate contact yourself online if you use online banking, or tell them if they can't send you something in the mail, then don't bother. Who wants a third party involved in their personal banking?

after about 15 seconds of silence a lady came on that had a very thick spanish accent. she claimed that she was calling on behalf of bank of america and that I would be receiving a packet in the mail. I told her she could stop right there because I was not interested and that I wanted her not to call my house again. When I asked to speak to someone above her, she hung up on me. This number had been calling my house everyday for 2 weeks.

Try this, it's hilarious. You need a phone with multi-line conferencing (I did it when they called my business line). Call them back, immediately put them on hold and call them again on another line. Conference the two lines together and wait (or do it again if you have multiple lines). They end up talking to each other! Don't say anything, they think it's a dialer glitch. When one finally hangs up, call again. I've had 5 of them on at once talking and waving to each other across the boilerroom. Eventually, if they're smart, they figure out who's calling and take the number off their list.

Teleperformance called again at 5:10 PM today. STOP CALLING!!!!!!!!!!

Caller ID says Teleperformance and is representing Bank Of America-they don't take no for an answer and call almost every day

I have been receiving many 800 numbers in the past month. This 801-257-6155 has called me 5-6 times. I never answer. This is getting crazy.

I've gotten three calls from this number (below). They never say anything. If I speak, they hang up. Yesterday afternoon I just listened and heard call center sounds.

I have received 5 to 6 calls a day from this starting 1/15/07 till now 1/30/07 ..I answer and no ones there now I don't answer it at all 1800 257 6155

First all from this number. I didn't answer in time before it went to voice mail. No message. I will probably just block it from now on.

Claimed to be Bank of American trying to offer a free credit report service with a fee after 30 days. Didn't feel good about it as they didn't have the correct spelling of our name.

I normally like telemarketing or market research calls and would ask that everyone answer there phone and make a decision to participate or not, but in this case it seems no one is ever on the line and therefore it isn't serving a purpose for us. That's a shame.

they called on 1/2/07 at 5:35:14 PM (EST). I received an email saying I had a voicemail from 801-257-6155. However, no message was left.

Called around 11:16AM EST. Did not answer.

Today is the first time I've gotten a call from 1-801-257-6155. They've called 4 times (OMG!!) and haven't left a message. I saw someone mentioned that it was B of A but I have no accounts with them so why would they be calling?

after days of them calling i finally answered...its someone calling about the Bank of America Rewards. so the call is for whoever in your house has a Bank of America card

I got a call from them today. First time. I didn't know who they were (Teleperformance) but I picked up anyway. They knew my name, though they butchered it.
I read that maybe it was Vonage calling. I do have Vonage. So, I called them back.
Major call center. Lady was nice and respectful to my questions. Seems they have a lot of corporate clients.
I'll see if they call back and quiz them some more.

This call center is used by Vonage. If you have a vonage line - it may be them calling.

Try this trick, if you don't know the number on your CID then pick up the phone and don't say anything, just listen. I did and I heard what sounded like a large calling center, many people talking in background.

just got a call today and yesterday, among other days. Sometimes it says TELEPERFORMANCE, sometimes it doesent. Typically no one is ever here, so the caller ID is the only record.

This phone number began calling a couple of days ago. I don't know the number so I don't pick up.

Started 8/30/06. 801 257 6155, Teleperformance called twice today by 1:40pm, of course computer dialer checking viability of my line. Company abusing the phone system. They may be a subsidiary of the French company by that name.
