DO NOT CALL POLICY STATEMENT

Discovery Research Group welcomes state and national legislation that limits aggravating sales calls. We feel that over time this legislation will help citizens better understand the difference between sales calls and legitimate research calls, and that the end result will be higher participation rates and higher data quality for all researchers. Sometimes respondents confuse legitimate research companies with telemarketers and think that National Do Not Call legislation applies to all companies equally.
If you have received a phone call from DRG, please be assured we are not contacting you for a sales call of any kind. Our calls were made simply to invite your household to participate in a research study. Almost 72 million Americans per year are interviewed in research studies. This is your opportunity to be heard regarding the products and services you use.
As a research organization, Discovery Research Group is not required to cross-compare any of our project specific phone lists against the National Do Not Call Registry, but we do maintain our own internal do not call list. We do this as a good business practice to avoid aggravating or frustrating any household who does not want to participate in research calls.
If you are opposed to participating in research studies, please simply use either of the following options to be removed from all current projects and placed on DRGs do not call list:
Email info@drgutah.com. Please include Do Not Call Request in the subject line and list any phone numbers you would like us to remove.
Call 1-800-678-3748 x 2136 or x 2110. If a voicemail answers, simply leave any phone numbers you would like removed in your message and we will quickly process the information for removal.
Taking either of the above actions will result in no additional phone calls. It is important to note that in order to fully comply; we will need all phone numbers you would like us to remove. We will remove them completely from our system within 24-48 business hours.
We request a phone number, as it is entirely possible you, your household, or your business could be in multiple projects at one time. We use the phone number to remove the record from all current projects and place them onto our internal DNC to put calls to an immediate halt now and in the future.

Feel free to read our organizations do not call policy:

discoveryresearchgroup.com

We take good business practices to heart and do not want to intrude or call incessantly. We apologize for any inconvenience our calls have caused to you, your household, or your business.
Again, you don't need to register a complaint with the BBB. That is false information. If you would like your phone numbers removed and placed on our DNC list please use the methods listed above. Also, please provide us with all the numbers you would like removed incase you have multiple numbers.

The missing email to contact the company is:

Got a solution for you all. After I got a bunch of calls from them, got caller i.d. and got their phone number. I complained to BBB Utah, and within two days I got an email apology from the company and my number has been put on an internal do not call list. They are apparently sensitive to BBB, so here is your chance to GET BACK. I recommend you lodge a complaint with BBB Utah, then email: The calling company is Discovery Research Group, 6975 Union Park Center, Suite 450, Midvale, Utah 84047.Their published number is 800.678.3748 toll-free. GO GET THEM!

2010-07-21 17:32:37 UTCrzimm

The calling company is Discovery Research Group, 6975 Union Park Center, Suite 450, Midvale, Utah 84047. Their published number is 800.678.3748 toll-free. They arrogantly insist they are not telemarketers, but researchers, and basically thumb their nose at the do not call list. If I find a successful way to eliminate their calls or perhaps fine them for their annoying calls, I will post it. For now, I might suggest sending them a registered letter telling them not to call, that future calls will be invoiced at $500 each. Might get their attention. Or you could just return the favor for their calls with return calls to their 800 number, asking if they have placed your phone on an internal do not call list. That also might get their attention.

This is a survey call. They said they are not subject to the "do not call" rules.

This is the fifth time I have talked to these people in as many days. This time I asked to speak to a manager when the first guy started his spiel. first guy's name was Brad. He got the "supervisor" Frank Vargas.... I made him spell it. I told him in no uncertain terms that I am on the Do not Call List and that I told the very first person that had called us to take us off the list. I also told him that my attorney was going to be notified if I ever received another call and that Frank would be the one that I am going to take to court. Now I don't even know if you can take such a thing to court... but Frank was sure shook up and oh so very apologetic. We will see.....

Again today with the calls. No message ever-no answer when I answered. Getting SO TIRED of all this crap!!

2010-03-25 23:59:33 UTCJean

They've called several times, but never leave a message. If it's a hospital stay survey, as I've seen mentioned here, they're just 45 years too late. That's the last time I was in a hospital!

2010-03-25 01:37:13 UTCW.H.

Mar 24, 2010 - 8:56PM I answered, and the guy said it was a marketing survey about grocery shopping (and not about hospitals, as many of the previous calls listed here indicate). To me, this means this is simply a telemarketing agency and not the actual enterprise itself. It would really be nice to find out who this really is.

2010-03-19 10:44:09 UTCSuz

Will not leave a message calls every night same time...I do not answer calls without a name attached. At least leave a message so we can call you back

2010-03-07 20:28:13 UTCMac

They call everyday and never leave a message. I don't usually answer but today I did. There was nobody on the other end. All I heard was a series of clicks. Too bad they weren't there. Today is Sunday. I was really ready to let them have it.

This person called me by name and said that he was from Monroe & Main, I told him that I do not accept calls of this nature. He apologized and hung up, time of call was 7:30pm on 2.12.2010. I am on the DO NOT CALL LIST. I feel that this caller is an intruder trying to find out information. He is tracking what I do on the internet.

2010-02-09 04:08:18 UTCJake

I answered the phone saying hello a male voice repeated hello the hung-up. I don't know why this company called nor do I understand why when I answered the phone I got hung-up on,

2010-02-06 19:49:26 UTCjb

it doesn't matter what you do, they will find a way to disturb you. i just let caller id and the answering maching take care of it. i know it is a inconvenience waiting for the answering machine to pick it up and then listening for them to hang up but if anyone has a better idea lets hear it. maybe obumma will help when he isn't in fromt of a camera.

2010-01-31 20:45:51 UTCMasterMmmm

They called and when answered they are not there. Such a waste of a phone call. Nobody here has had any recent stay in a hospital so it cant be for such.

2009-12-19 21:40:16 UTCCabrone

These dickheads have called for days and never leave a message. They let the phone ring two or maybe three three times and hang up. Probably a bunch of rag heads MF'rs that want to tell me I have millions waiting to be claimed. Fuck em! I'm not answering. That's why I have caller I.D.

2009-12-05 19:38:13 UTCBetty Mason

This caller called at 2:18pm on 12-5-2009 and whistled in my ear then hung up. This is annoying and on time is one time too many. This is a idiot who has nothing else to do but call unlisted numbers. I'm on the DO NOT CALL List so how does he get my number?

2009-10-08 23:26:50 UTCtired

This number calls at least three times a day. They never leave a message.
Enough! I am on the do not call list...why do they keep calling?

2009-08-26 23:17:13 UTCbugga

How to fix this: Call (800) 678-3748 which is the switchboard to the Discovery Research Group. Press 0 for the operator, and then be beligerent about how many times you've requested your phone number to be removed from their list. Also say if the calls do not cease immediately, you will call your Senator and the FCC to place a complaint. Should do the trick.

2009-07-01 23:26:47 UTCron

They have called me every night for the past week asking me to take a minute to answer a survey for sharebuilder. I declined and said I don't use the service so they should call someone else. They keep calling back. My wife and sons have answered the phone and told them I do not wish to take the survey and they say if he will just take a minute and do the survey. They won't take no for an answer.

2009-06-19 15:30:39 UTCTJ

Called, 7 a.m. No message.

I did have, like Sarah Lewis, a recent hospital stay, but I have no idea if this was related (a satisfaction survey), and if you a good survey response, you don't conduct them at 7 a.m., so who knows what it was.

2009-06-17 00:09:30 UTCSpock

Unknown on called-ID, they asked for someone who is not here, when I asked for a message the azzholes rudely hung up I hope they ROT IN HELL!

2009-04-01 23:41:53 UTCAce

I answered the call and they asked for my wife. They said it was with regards to Patient Advocacy because she had recently visited the emergency room.

2009-03-04 01:51:49 UTCJC in TX

Never leaves a message, even hangs up when I answer, instead of my machine.

2009-02-11 16:17:46 UTCJT

Called at work, did not leave name or number with assistant.

2009-01-27 21:33:32 UTCJYD

Does not leave message, just hangs up on machine

2009-01-17 00:01:19 UTCSarah Lewis

This was a survey call to find out my satisfaction with a recent hospital stay. No personally identifying information was asked, and they knew my discharge date, so I believe that this was initiated by the hospital.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker (click pictures below for price and reviews).
