Who Called Us

Some guy ask for someone, I could not understand him, he sounded to be VERY stoned, Google says this is a debt collectors number

This number calls often, every few days, 3-4 times per week. Their ID is always concealed. They never leave a message. Seems like a waste of time. If they're happy, I'm happy. Costs me nothing to ignore a phone call.

I started receiving calls from this number/place on my cell phone a week or so ago. I called the number back today & a message identified it as Jefferson Capital. It says to enter a number from some letter (which I've NO idea since I haven't rec'd any letter) so I just pressed 1. A guy came on & when I told him to remove my #, he said it was assigned to a Phil (?) something. I told him noone here by that name but that cell phone co.'s tend to recycle #'s & I wanted mine removed. I also said if I get 1 more call from them I'll be reporting them to the FTC since I understand it has already rec'd numerous complaints on them. His response was, "yes ma'am", so they must be aware they're already in trouble! And rest assured, I WILL follow thru w/reporting them to the FTC if they call again.

This number has called my home 7 times within 2 weeks. I've never answered it because I never answer calls from 800 numbers identified on my caller ID. Our number is and has been registered with the National Do Not Call List since it started.

This is a collection agency that is under investigation by the Federal Trade Commission. A complaint has been filed against Jefferson Capital for unfair trade practices. The letter is for a fresh start program where an old debt you have is applied to a secured Credit Card, you pay down the balance at 0% APR and once 50% is paid down, the card is activated with a credit line. They just started calling me . This morning at 8:00 a.m. Now for 3 days they call and 4 to 5 a day until 8:45 p.m. I just hook-up the fax so they can talk to it. I have had a lot of phone calls like this and I call my phone company and they said no one has had this number before me. I do not owe any one. So they need to stop calling me because I got on the internet found there is over 80 people in the US that has the same first name and last name as my. And some of them live in the same town as I do or surrounding towns . And a few of them same age or maybe a little younger or a 1 to 2 years apart.

I answered the phone and they asked for someone who doesn't live in my home. They apologized and said they must have the wrong number.

Who is it?

Hang up Call. Most likely a collection agency looking for the Woman who previously had my number.

The person who had my number before must have really bad credit.

3 times in 2 weeks... I called them and told them they had the wrong person. The yesterday they called again. I called back and told them to stop harassing me.
Today... again. Told them I'm placing a report on all 3 numbers they've called me from.
We shall see what tomorrow brings.

caller asked for "melinda" when told no melinda lives here, was told she would call back later to try to reach her. I called the toll free number, spoke with "Jake" requested my number be removed from their automatic call list as I had received 3 calls this week and no "melinda" lives here. have had this number for 15 years and my name is NOT melinda. He told me he would make a note that this is a incorrect number. I asked for assurance that I would receive no more calls, but he would not guarantee that. AARRGGHHHHH!

5 calls from 5 different numbers in one day (all from Jefferson Capital LLC). How do we STOP this?????? YES, I am on the 'DO NOT CALL' list but apparently our government has given up on stopping and/or prosecuting crooks AND protecting the honest citizens!!

Annoying calls-----I tell them to remove our number from there call list----but they still keep calling, and we are on the 'DO NOT CALL' list.

Getting TONS of calls while I'm at work! They never leave a message- and lee calling many times a day. SICK OF THEM- they call on my cell!!

They called i do not even have a credit card never have had a credit card only thing i have is a debit card i dont believe in credit cards the person calling would not tell me who they were or anything just kept saying this number was given as a number to call with me telling her it was a private personal number of mine and unless she could tell me what is was about i couldnt help her ... VERY VERY RUDE and I am on the do not call list. Cant let them know its not right if they wont tell you who they are calling for and what it is they want.

This is a debt collector that calls people with the same name as those with outstanding debts. I simply verified the last 4 digits of my SSN and they realized they had the wrong person and removed my number. All you have to do to end the calls is pick up the phone or call them back and provide your number to them.
