Obviously a scam... told me to logon to receive my $470 credit.

August 20th, 2013 Busy @ Work NY

Called twice today & hung up. Have got the "You have won a prize!" message before. Enough already.....

August 20th, 2013 Jess DE

Yes! They just called me as well with the same exact prize info! It is definitely a scam and I wish they never call my phone again!

August 20th, 2013 Kelly CO

This number has called three separate times. Every time I answer an automated voice message tells me to log on to vzw470.com to claim a prize of a $470 credit to my Verizon account. I just get a busy tone when I call back. Has to be a scam!

August 20th, 2013 R.W. TX

It was an automated call that was already speaking fast after I answered, which caused me to miss hear some of it. I think they said something about my verizon account and for me to visit vzw.com about some kind of prize money? This has to be a scam...

August 20th, 2013 Alex

Call from this number advising of $470 credit on my Verizon bill if I will log into www.vzw470.com. Called Verizon customer service who confirmed it was a scam. vzw470.com has Norton Secured seal, I reported the misuse of the seal to Norton. Re: what "Cause" wrote, I was unable to call Charles Nick due to "equipment problems." I'll try again later ;)

Recorded call, claimed that I had been selected to receive a $460 credit toward my wireless account. All I had to do was go to a fake website (vzw460.com) and enter my log in information. The site is a copy of the real Verizon wireless website, except for a few details, such as the copyright at the bottom which is 2012 rather than 2013 like on the real site. Reported to Verizon, although the "customer service" rep understood me about as much as I understood her. Also reported to the DNC registry, for all the good that will do.

August 19th, 2013 Tammie KS

Caller reported that he would be able credit $460 to my verizon account after completing the information requested on a website (www.vzw460.com). Possible phishing scam.

August 19th, 2013 LM CO

Similar to an earlier call using 360 rather than 460

August 19th, 2013 Jane Smith LA

I just got this call. Unknown name. Left a message about redeeming money on some website. Didn't answer.

Maybe everyone should call Charles Nick at 510 595 2002 and ask him to stop calling us?

August 17th, 2013 pdc FL

The web page looks exactly like VZW page except that it requests your pin as well as your password. I called VZW and customer service confirms that it is certainly a phishing website.

August 17th, 2013 PDC FL

The call told me I had won $450 and that I should sign in to my Verizon Wireless account at VZW455.com.

August 17th, 2013 robo MO

They called my cell phone which makes me use my minutes even though I rejected the call. Makes me mad.

Obvious scam, the voice on the call is hilariously fake or someone trying really hard to sound like they speak English.

August 17th, 2013 Mythbuster IL

It's a robocall for www.vzw455.com--purportedly a site for getting a $400-something discount on your Verizon Wireless bill. Most likely a phishing scam.

August 17th, 2013 Alice MO

It's john (Willy) Medina again....he's trying to make the Veterans at Stolen Valor stop telling people he's a fake. He has never been in the military. He got booted out Karate school cause he's a dumb ass and couldn't pass a physical to get in the boy scouts.

August 17th, 2013 Puge NE

I just pick up the calling from this number and hang up directly. No talking, no arguing, i know it must be a SCAM!

August 17th, 2013 AMC MD

Do not call that number but if you do, do not go to the vow website it says goto to get your discount.

August 17th, 2013 Pat AL

The caller said they were Verizon and I had won $450. What a joke. Scammers!!!

reported call to Verizon wireless. They said the said thing about getting money to log into their page.

August 17th, 2013 Steve IL

Got two calls within several minutes of each other promising $455 off Verizon bill. Received two similar calls about three weeks ago, but those calls were from 800-888-9595.

August 17th, 2013 Kyle WA

They said I would receive 455$ off my verizon bill if I logged into their website. Definitely a scam.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker or something like Nomorobo.
