Yes, this is really US Bank, I have had to deal with them several times since becoming unemployed. But they do like to harass even after you have made a payment or a promise to make a payment. They are jerks and don't really want to work with you at all!!!!!

Who is this really

2010-02-05 20:45:13 UTCrolls

got a call today from this number. It called my main home phone and then my home/office line. So I reported this to my branch bank. When I returned this call a recording asked me to input "my" account number. I zeroed out and got a live person who immediately asked for my account number, but also said they were US Bank. I informed the person they called me and would like to know why they called. They simply repeated that they were US Bank and needed my account number. When I persisted on knowing more about the caller identification they hung up. Smells like bad fish to me. I have accounts and a loan through the bank but IF it was late why had I not received a mailing letting me know that first? Especially since I was at my bank just a few days ago, had the teller look up my balance and no indication was given of any late obligations. Their is no way to verify this 800 number is owned by US Bank just because they answer that they are. I'd advise never ever give out that information when asked on a call. If they are legitimate they already know who you are and that information. This sends red flags up all over the place to me. Hope this helps.

James............a lying cover man for a telemarketing company.

Called Christmas Eve and Christmas day, as well as the day after Christmas. I do not own a credit card, nor owe any money for anything as I do not borrow money. The ignorant person on the line keeps asking for Betty. Reported them to the BBB.

Called and said USBank. Told him I would go to the bank and solve the issue to which he replied " I can save you the trip." This action repeated itself three times. Scam is written all over this one.

These people have been calling me for over 6 months. I don't have any type of account with US Bank and have had the same phone number for over 15 years.

2009-06-17 18:38:17 UTCjingle bells

If someone calls ME, they can dang well BE there when I answer. I don't have time for stupid computers and stupid scammer games. Hope the government goes after these jerks just like they've finally gone after the "auto warranty expiring" a*******. I agree with Pinky; just don't answer any calls (and I won't from now on!) that don't have the name come up - a dead giveaway they're not who they're gonna claim to be.

This place calls our work number every single day. It's never answered. Any company or person that cannot put their name on Caller ID doesn't deserve the courtesy of a reply. Plus it's just a scam anyway. James' "suggestion" to call them back is bull as well as his notion that "there must be a problem with your account". What a crock!! Just the usual scam artists trying to extort money.

U S Bank calling about credit line payment overdue

2009-02-02 15:10:16 UTCJames

Confirmed Us Bank Early Stage Collections, not a third party. As a current US Bank employee I can clarify a few things. Usbank collections works off of an automated dialer. Calls are placed by computer then transferred to a person, sometimes this can take a while which explains why no answer when you pick up the phone, if you do not have time to wait just hang up and call back. If US Bank is calling you there is obviously a problem with your account. Legally Usbank can call from 8am to 9pm 7days a week. If called out of this time your area code must not match with current residence. Correction on caller ID note, since US Bank is not a third party the caller ID is not requred to be shown. There is no "do not call list" associated with this #. Solve the problem with US Bank and you wont be called.

2009-01-21 20:39:03 UTCThis is a scam

Dont give these people any information.

Someone continues calling us but no one will be on the line. We are on the "no call" list but they keep calling.

Verified by who Ken?? I still dont think this is USbank and would warn anyone else out there to be very leary of calls from these people. When USbank calls my home it comes through on caller id as USbank when these people call it either jams by caller id signal or comes across as toll free call.

2008-10-14 04:34:30 UTCKen

verified. 800 872 2625 is US BANK. As is 800 879 1397. They have also started using an UNAVAILABLE ID number as well.

2008-03-31 19:56:05 UTCNK

they wanted to know if we would like to make a payment today. We said we have not got the bill yet.

Called this morning, hung up. If it really is US Bank, they should that Federeal Law requires them to identify themselves on caller ID. If they do not, this is false identification and is a big no-no with the government.

2008-02-19 21:12:00 UTCJT

damn, they can't wait for me to come in the bank and make my payment!

2008-02-12 18:42:44 UTCRick

They left message with secratary, i called bank and a recording asked for my account number. I took this to US Bank and they said it's not them and they dont ever ask for your account number by a recording

2008-01-25 22:35:17 UTCAngela

Call several times a day, never leave a message.

2007-12-17 02:21:09 UTCSandy

Calling for weeks, numerous times per day. Calls as late as 8:15 pm on Sunday night. Never leaves a message.

2007-11-24 02:37:05 UTCJT

US Bank

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
