Called 3 times so far, gives the name "Amy Wright". Looking for my ex-husband of over 6 years ago. No idea how they got my phone number after all this time. Doesn't give any information about the debt.

Computer generated...Desperately Seeking Maria Cardenas, who failed to pay some bills about 6 years ago. I know this because various collectors have tried my work time & time again. I think Asset Acceptance bought unpaid debt at a discount, received whatever information the prior collection company had and then just keep trying my number. You would think the new guys might verify what info they have so they can increase the return rate...But NOOOOOOO just stick it on a computer, bother people and see who pays.....Just accounting before people....

Amy Wright called looking for a Linda C Scroeder. Never heard of her. Left a message. If it's such a personal matter they should make sure they have the right phone number. I've also gotten mail for this person in the past. Sent it back.

Have called here 3 times and every time I answer I just get a recording from a "Lora James" saying the call is regarding a debt but when I return the call I never get an answer.

Recorded voice, female, gives name as "Laura James", can't pronounce the name correctly, but never says what the outstanding debt is.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
