These people wre very rude. They refused to indetify themselves or the purpose of the call and repeatedly asked me personal indentity information.

I believe this company is a collection agency and I think they have an automated calling services that just repeatedly generates calls.

I received a call today also. The lady that answered the phone her name is Samantha. I guess they claim to be a collection agency. I never trusted the number because it came up as unknown.

Said- They were sending the sherrif and for our own safety we'd better call today.

The lady that called had a threatening tone to her voice and I was appaulled. I tried to call back but they won't even answer their phone and expect you to leave a message. sorry, no way.

This is a collection agency with an incorrect number. They keep calling for a person I don't know and they have been told numerous times to stop calling.

It is time to turn this collection agency ???? over to your local DAs. I agree with all of the above callers!!

A very confrontational man named Sal Roberts called my cell # asking to speak to Todd King, I told him I was not this person, and he had the wrong #. He said that he had the correct # and that deadbeat slobs always say that, he proceeded to inform me that I had 48 hours to take care of a $3200 debt. I again said you have the wrong # and to never call me again, he said he would call me every 5 minutes until the bill was paid. He then said if the debt wasn't paid within 48 hours that I had better make sure my health insurance was up to date, and then he hung up.

I filed an online complaint against Valentine and Kebartas with the Better Buisness Bureau. I suggest you all do the same too or nothing will ever be done!

I received a call from a Michelle. She had called my mother-in-law whom I haven't spoken with in years. She said she had the right to call friends, family and neighbors once a week. She said I was in my situation because I was a poor planner. She said she didn't have any debt, had never had any (yeah, Right!) and it was because she planned ahead. She said my creditor (credit card) didn't accept credit counseling but they didn't tell us that when we told them to contact the credit counseling people.
After getting off the phone with her I went to ftc.gov and filed a complaint.

From 1999 to 2005 Bill Collectors and clerical staff at V&K have been stealing money and leased equipment from people all over the country. The scam was pretty simple. A collector would call the debtor explain that X amount of money was owed. This amount represented the actual bill (principle) and collection charges usually %20. The collector would tell the debtor to pay the principle to V&K and send the collection charges to the phoney agency, Muffucci Collections. V&K would report to the client that the principle was paid in full and the account was "settled in full". The collection charges went right into Ellen Muffucci bank account. The issue is that the account was "paid in full" and the debtor didnt get credit for paying the balance. The debtors credit report would list the account as "Settlement accepted on account" when actually the balanced was paid. If collateral was involved the principle was still paid, client was told account was settled in full and also that the equipment was bought. The debtor was told the account was settled but the equipment had to be sent to Muffucci collection. LOTS OF DELL COMPUTERS WERE STOLEN THIS WAY.

They were caught by a client. Ellen Muffucci, the ring leader, was dismissed. No charges were ever filed. NO WAY ELLEN was the only one involved. Fact is someone from the clerical department had to answer a phone call or two. It went on for 7 YEARS !!!

Wanna be a concerned citizen. Contact your congressman. Request an inquiry. All they have to do is review Ellen Muffucci bank records and they will see the depth of this larceny.

UNBELIEVABLE that this 'firm' can do what they do to people! - They do nothing but belittle, and talk rudely and obviously - each and every time. Then, when you TRY to do the right thing, & make some payment arrangements, they continue to take money from your account, once they have your information! I can't believe these people can get away with what they do - & no one can or will do anything about it! I don't understand! They should be PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!!!

The person that called did not speak very good english, and kept asking for a person and if I was that person. When I would not tell her my name, she hung up.

I got a call randomly at home one day and the guy said "HI! Katie?" and i responded yes. and he said his name was Calvin or something and he'd like to schedule a pick up. i said "a pick up? of what?" and he said "your Dell laptop." Well needless to say during the conversation i broke down in tears and explained to the guy how i was working full time nights at a hotel and going to school full time and that i was trying really hard to pay all my bills but on an $8.00 an hour job and tuition and stuff it was really hard to do. i told him he could call my school and my work and verify all the information i was telling him (he never did though).

I will say that in the end the guy was extremely nice and worked out a very good deal and the debt was reduced by almost half. I am probably one of the only ones who actually had a good experience with them. (maybe because the guy actually had a heart). the first impression was a very demeaning one but after spending almost an hour on the phone with him, he was very understanding and reasonable in the end.

Me again - by the way - I lost my job and got behind on my Dell computer account payments. My account was sent to these bottom feeder debt collectors. I called Dell Financial Services and they worked with me to get my payment plan setup again and I pay them every month directly now - I do not pay the collection agency.

Dell will work with you if you call them - do not try to go through these people - they will cause you nothing but heartache and problems.

This is the best. They now call on Sundays and after 9PM! but many times from an unknown number which I never answer!

We keep receiving calls from this number with no message left. If this is about our Dell account it was paid in full with our tax return. We do not return calls if no message or information about the call is left.

This outfit will continue until some smart Lawyer figures out that it's a GREAT Class-Action Suite.

A very rude lady called my Mother's house ( how did they get that # ???) said a decision was being made on my account and that either myself or my lawyer better call b/f Friday.

The first person I spoke with there was actually polite to me and worked out a deal between me, Chase credit card and their agency. She said that she wasn't making any money off the deal, which I don't believe because who works for free?

A person helping with this account named Lisa was quite rude to me. She never returned my phone calls and said if I didn't have enough money in my account they would serve me with papers in 5 days (via the Sheriff).

I spoke with a woman named Dana there as well. The message she left for me said I needed to call her back immediately, and she sounded pretty pissed. Meanwhile I had been leaving messages for Lisa, who I believed was handling my case, and she never once returned my calls.

These people have called me for over 6 months asking for a person with a similar name as mine. I have no debt and owe nothing. They are rude, have heavy accents, and need to be shut down. They ask for my SS# each time. The last time I asked them for their SS#. Who trains these people. I called my local authorities and then the Federal Trade Commission. I reported their harrassment. DO the same.

These People are very rude, you give them a paymeant and they still call and scream at you.there is no winning with them.

I think your accident was forgetting to go to English class, then becoming a collector for these scum and then try to hide behind a Anonymous tag. Get a real job.

I have received numerous call from this company; and for someone else besides....not only are the people rude, but they have the nerve to tell me not to raise my voice as I attempt to explain that I don't want their calls as well as the person they are looking for is not here; I finally got a supervisor and he was just as rude and continued to tell me that if I don't stop taling he'd hang up and the calls would continue! What jerks....lets see how long they don't call....I've reported them and hopefully something can be done.

The person claimed to be a Mrs. Johnson, 800-731-7766, ext 253...very rude; and left messages of how there was a warrant out for this person, and they will come to the house, etc...hang up on this one!

They tried my mom and she didn't know who they were. They were very rude to her, but would not give any information. I have no idea why their calling after looking them up by their phone number, that's how I have found tons of sites all saying they a fraudulent collection agency and not to speak with them. So, I'm not sure what to do now.

A lady named Dana called me from Valentine and Kebartas and was yelling and unreasonable but then she apologized and we talked about the bill. she ended up being really nice in the end but i am still not going to pay. i hate chase bank and i will never pay them even if they use a nice bill collector.

All I know is that they are lucky they are in another state then I because I would have been down there to kick someone's butt by now with the way the degrade you... I have offered them way more then I should on several different occasions and they will not take it they want ridiculous amounts and I realize now after researching their company it is because they want to make money out of it. They buy debts so they are paying 20% of your original debt to the company and then charging you 120% of the outstanding debt. I have never been in this situation before but I know from others who have had debt issues that if a person is offering a reasonable amount they take it. I guess they would rather go through civil court. But they are wack and I'll keep sending them $20 payments just to piss them off. I guess when you apply for a job there one of the requirements is "must be a low life, degrading, coniving peice of trash" that's the only thing I can come up with. Oh well God catches everyone in the end.

I received a call last week. I looked up the phone number on line that day before calling back and I was alarmed. I took the advice I saw letting Michelle know that I was recording the call. As she asked for the last four digits of my social security number, I refused to give them unless she told me who they were representing. I had verified my name and mailing address. She refused I also received threats about a visit from the sheriff. I reminded her that I was recording. She told me that if I was not willing to verify that who I was that I would be served (by the Sheriff). She told me to have a nice day and hung up.

During the conversation I also asked her to send me something in writing. She told me that they had contacted me a number of times. (not)
The next day, I did receive a letter in the mail from them. It was a legitimate debt from a charged -off card, but I have to check all of the numbers to make sure they are accurate. (I suffered an injury at the beginning of August for which DR. has not cleared me to work yet.) The letter I received from V&K on the day after my phone call with them was dated 12/6 only seven business days after the charge-off.

I received a call a few days ago with a message saying that the matter for which they were calling would be discussed with me or my attorney. A message was also left for me today letting me know that my case was due to be audited tomorrow and that I should contact the representative immediately to try to resolve the issue or to work out options before it was too late.

i tried to save my chase account last novemmber i was told if i paid 336 before 3pm the account wouldnt go into collections, i work at a store wherei was making 9.00 an hour but chase wasnt my only bill i was paying on and before when chase called me they'd ask if i could pay 700 and i'd tell them no but i can pay 300 thinking if i paid something it show i was making an effort. "WAS I WRONG"! steve Ryan from Valentine and Kebartas called me on my parents phone december 6th 2006 to let me know they had my chase account and they'd call within a week to get the account paid. i had to tell my mother and she was upset for she didnt know what had happened. Steve Ryan mentioned a 9700 deal then further calls from him he didnt mention it until i brought it up. then he called both my parents phone number and mine after i left for work to let my mom know the check she used to pay the first half wasnt accepted by their aagency. her bank told her her check was good. thats how my dad found out and was very upset with me for he assumed i was having no trouble paying my bills. steve ryan's voice would give ghandi fainting spells the account is all paid up and my dad had to call valentine and kebartas for an end of obligation letter to show we were all paid up with them.

Got a August of 2007 for unpaid Dell. They were very rude and said she'd be taking me to court, yelled nasty things at me. I offered paymments,they wouldn't take it. I called a lawyer and was to send a good faith payment of $75 and to request they send me something in writing, and not to pay anything else until a letter came. It is now Jan of 08, I have never recieved anything in writing, and no phone calls until today. It came as unknown caller. I tried to explain that I need it in writing before I agree to anything. She said she'd sent lots of letters and I'd see them all in court. (which they never sent ANYTHING) I asked her if I could make payment arrangements and she said it was past that point, and told me to stop yelling at her, and to stop insulting her intelligence. I never yelled and I never got an attitude. It was like she was purposely trying to get me to yell. She threated me stating they are taking me to court several times, wanted my lawyers name, which I refused to give without knowing who she was for sure and recieving something in writing. She said she's closing the books on my case tonight. I only owe just under 2,000...I've got friends who are 10's of thousands in debt, yet I'm the scumbag? It makes no sense to me that I've tried to work something out and they won't accept it.

Two of them were left without identifying who they were attempting to pressure me into thinking that I had to completely handle the account turned over to them within the week...but they had only had my acount for two weeks which is within the 30 days a consumer has to verify their information. I did call back on a second occasion, letting them know again that I was recording. The tone of the conversation did turn unprofessional on the part of their representative who told me that they would not be working out a payment plan for me. The representative also tried to belittle me for taking the legally given time to verify their records and mine. I contacted my attorney general's office and filed a formal complaint. I recommend anyone who has questionable experiences with them to read the consumer protection laws concerning debt collection, which should be available from your AG ( attorney general's web site), I encourage you to (legally) tape your conversations with them, letting them know you are recording, and I encourage you to file complaints to the proper agencies including BBB and absolutely your Attorney General. I have read too many complaints from people about this company. Some terribly harrasssed people do not no that these tactics are illegal and they need a paper trail. Although for whatever reasons people may have fallen behind on payments, there is a professional and legal way to collect debts.

Derrick Jenson from this company is an idiot! He made me so angry when he called me a liar that I slammed my phone down and broke it. He calls my number looking for some guy I don't know, tells me I do know him and accuses me of trying to get away with something with this stranger. He had my name,address and SS#. He said the guy used my name on the account but I don't believe that.But I don't know how they have my SS#? I don't own a Dell. I get calls from many companies for this guy; none has ever said my name was on an account. I assumed I was getting these calls because my new phone number was his old number. Does this make any sense? I'll stop now.

Have received calls with no messages for about 2 weeks now. On rare occasion they leave a message for someone I've never heard of. Finally answered it today and after waiting for about 4 minutes got a live person. Asked if I was the unknown person. Said no -- been getting these wrong number messages for about 2 weeks. Nastily said OK and immediately HUNG UP !!

Yes they are a collection agency, I know this because I worked there for 2 days, they are in Caldwell Idaho,
and what they say and do to customers is "Illegal" , they DONT follow the "Laws" as they are supposed to.

what do you know then about Robert Zukos and William DeRosa? They are the two idiots that keep calling harrassing me about a dell account that I took a settlement on last year. Today this person Joe Malone called from Valentine & Kebartas, he sounded mean and didn't stated the nature of his called. He gave me his 1-800-731-7766 ext. 391 to call him back. This sounds like a fake collection agency or even an identity theft. Watch out people...

Michael Mace from this company called looking for someone who was not at my number. He was rude and insulting. When I requested that he not call again, he said he was going ahead with legal action and it would be all my fault.
Furthermore, he called with a blocked number which happens to be illegal.
I suggest anyone who is getting a call from this company for a valid debt, send a cease and desist letter immediately.

Well after reading though some of these comments i dont know what to think, Amy, the rep i spoke to, seems to just want to help and get through with it, even when she left me a voice mail... she dont sound rude, but now im confused?? God I really hate these people. they are the worst. Butcher the name, wont leave a message saying who they are or what they want. And if you tell them that they have the wrong # it goes in one ear and out the other.

They do not identify themselves. You are asked to press a number on your phone.Today when I pressed the number,the message began talking about the stimulus payments from the IRS with specific dates for payments. This seems very deceiving and/or illegal by misrepresenting who they are and they still do not identify themselves when someone does answer the line.

I can't even count the number of calls I've received from Valentine and Kebartas. In fact, i began getting these calls on my work number during working hours! My friend, and attorney, gave me this form letter to send to them. They can no longer call you at work and it should keep them from calling you as often.

This company left a message on my home phone for my ex-husband whom I divorced 10 years ago!!! I don't even have any contact with him!! How did these people get MY home phone number??? I mean I have been remarried with a different last name for the past 8 years for crying out loud!!! If they call again I will be turning the matter over to my attorney you can bet on that!!

I have also been receiving calls from Ms. Riley @ VKI.. She told me that my account was not paid and I had not been making pymts. You can't get a word in with these people. She has a nasty attitude. I hung up on her and faxed her the payment information.

Received message today stating to call back or have my attorney call back. Did not leave a message in regards to. It's sad that these collection agencies call everyone they can listed with the name they are looking for and try and get info from you. Its a scam, number comes up unknown name and all the info they have is the name! These people need to be turned in or everyone needs to make themselves un-listed.

They are a private collection company. However, most of the people that this company hires are young individuals that lack the proper training. Although they will try anything to get you to pay up, they must still follow the laws. If they do not, you may have a claim agains them in a court of law.

They call several times a day starting at 9 a.m. and ending at 9 p.m. to harass me. I'm not even the debtor. They call me sir and I'm a ma'm. They tell ME to pay MY bill, when I am not responsible for it. They claim to put the creditor on the phone, but it is really another collector, who threatens me. Again, I'm not the debtor. They tell me personal info about the debtor, which is against the law. They discuss the debtor's account with me. They have put the debtor in litigation 3 times. The debtor has told them to go ahead do what they have to do, just leave us alone. They said it is a refusal to pay and tell the debtor she will think of them when she's sitting on a cold bench in court. Debtor said fine, just do it. They still call and harass and have not filed suit. This agency makes OTHER law firms who are legit, look illigitmate!!! Stop them! I spoke with a Scott, Ryan, Cindy Silva, Josh, and numerous other fake names to date. Cindy Silva won the best actress award for good cop, bad cop. She played both!

Me again. I just spoke to my oldest sister in Florida. They call asking for her daughter who has been dead for over 15 years. They tell her the bill must be paid or they would ruin her credit. HELLO? No credit privileges in Heaven that we know of, idiots.

I received 4 calls from this company from 4 different people 1 month apart,even though I've told them that they got wrong person, after the 1st call I got from them some obnoxious guy Larry told me that I've defaulted on credit loan from Dell for $11k, first I though maybe someone fradulently used my identity and obtained loan I know nothing about,so as soon I hung up the phone I called Dell Financial,and guess what there was no record any defaults or credit loans for that matter in my name! Beware!!! I think these people are running scam operation on the side unver cover of collection agency to fish for personal information!!!

I received a very vague message saying I had been given as a reference for my brother and to please have my brother return the call to Felicia. I called and Felicia refused to tell me what type of company she was with. I called 4 times before speaking to someone. I've also checked with several attorneys and it is illegal for these people to be calling you in reference to a family member or anyone else. Please pass the word on.

What do you people expect??? you owe thousands of dollors to these companys and never pay it back..its like steeling. it shows what kindof person you are. These people are running a scam! I have filed bankruptcy and they continue to call my home trying to collect the debt. The callers are high pressure bill collectors who try to make you believe they're a law firm. They try and make you believe that your case is in litigation and that by dealing with them you can save yourself a great deal of grief in avoiding law suits, wage garnishments and jail time. They even had the audacity to tell my wife that they could see my social security number was attached to money (not sure how they got that info), implying that they would garnish my wages. This company is like every other collector; the more they collect, the more they earn for their company. I have read and heard that they are in violation of not just a few debt collection laws but some business ethics as well and will be warning them via my attorney that they are to cease and desist with further harassment of me and my family. If they should continued along this course of action, I will file a class action law suit in Federal Court and bury this boiler-room operation they call a company once and for all. If it should come to that I will set up a page for those that want to participate and post the address here. These people are out of line and are must be dealt with.

I got a call this morning from 800-731-7766. It said only "Out of Area" so I didn't pick up. I then checked my messages and found one giving this number and suggesting that they needed to hear from someone who is a distant relative related by marriage-different last name even, by 4pm.

I called the number to see who it was. I got no information. I am writing here now to document that I told them not to call my number again. I believe that if you state that, it is not legal for them to phone again. Check the FCC (look them up online) for more details.

I've been getting calls from this company this past week, and after reading these messages, I'm definitely not dealing with them. I got a call from a Jason and a Lisa Cullins (I think) and they were threatening me over the phone, saying that I need to pay this off or it will go into litigations. The Jason guy was YELLING at me over the phone and talking down on me, then had the nerve to hang up on me. I refuse to deal with them and if Chase wants any of their money, then they're going to have to let me go through them or another agency. This agency sounds crooked.

Had a voice mail on a corporate cell phone from these guys indicating that they were an attorneys office - they are not, not even close. Only licensed in the state of Massachusetts so reporting them from Florida would be a waist of time. The rep Chris CLEARLY said 'From the law offices of Valentine and Kebartas' and we have it recorded and transcribed into digital WAV and MP3 format and submitted to our legal department. The kicker is it was a wrong number since the name they were asking for does not match anyone at our organization.

All beware - these guys must be bottom feeders to resort to misrepresentations such as this! We have been advised to record any future communications (if any) with Valentine and Kebartas - legal in the State of Florida without second party notification or consent, check with your state for statutes regarding phone recordings.

I have dealt with a few different collection agencies over the years, and these people are the only ones I have never been able to settle with. I spoke to two different agents over there, and they were both completely unreasonable. I advise no one to speak with them on the phone unless you have a way of recording the conversation. I always record my conversations with collection agents.

They call, and when you try to call them back, it is ridiculos trying to get assistance. You would think they want their money. No one could find my account so I was transferred over 10 tijes, then hung up on. Now I call back and get an answering machihe. They are rude, and are not getting money from me.

For those of you who think just paying it is always an option,I congradulate you for that opportunity. Sometimes illness rears it's ugly head and you don't have that option and small bills become larger with the heavy interest added when you are not able to make ends meet. When you get a little room with tax returns and such, you try to make it go as far as you are able. These people want it all or none! they call names and such as that. I will not deal with people like that. Most will take what you are able to do and are willing to make acceptable arrangements to pay the balance due. These people are not! Someday I will get my bills paid up again. the easist way to deal with these people is to not answer the phone and screen the calls!

I just received a call from these idots asking for my wife. When I told the lady she wasn't in...she (lady on the phone) stammered for a bit, and said " I don't know if I can talk to you; but just have your wife call me back; I'm returning her call...she knows who i am". I then proceeded to call my wife and see if she did in fact call this person, and to relay the message to call them back. My wife obviously didn't have a clue as to who these people were...or why they were calling. I called them back (good thing for caller ID) and asked very politely that they refrain from calling this number again. The 'receptionist' got a little mouthy with me...and it got worse when I explained that ALL CALLs were recorded. She proceeded to tell me it was illegal in my state (it isn't)and then put me on hold. A second later a "manager" picked up the line and got even more abusive with me. I also explained to him that the calls were recorded (same BS about it being illegal) and then wanted to "call my bluff" asking to "play me the tape back"...SO I DID! He wasn't prepared for that, and his demenor changed quickly. Now I'm a "sir" instead of the derogatory names he started out with.
My plan is to now file a lawsuit against them. I think with my recording...they may want to settle out of court. If the Federal Government doesn't shut them down first!

Jim at Valentine & Kebartas has spoken to my father (I'm in my 30s) about my debt, I do not live with my father nor mother. He verbally went over my debt with my father, after I had instructed him to only speak with myself regarding this debt, especially since I am the only one holding the credit. He left me a viocemail appologizing that he'd spoken to my father, and said it was a mistake! That was last Wednesday, the 12th. Today, Tuesday the 19th, he has apparently called from "unknown" and "private" numbers numerous times only to finally leave a voicemail stating that I am avoiding his calls and that he is going to call every bank in my city (I'm employed by a bank) till he finds me. I have agreed to wire the funds for the agreed settlement amount, however, I have not agreed to being harassed---which is what I feel is happening. Am I mistaken? I have not erased the voicemails he's left, and I agree that I owe the debt, but I disagree with how he is going about collecting it. I would appreciate any advice.

This company is rude and they have their nerve coming on this site and writing comments. This just shows the calibar of people that are employed by this collection agency, they are the bottom of the barrel. They have been calling me before 8:00am and when that was brought up to them, I was told that if I report them - they would serve me a summons for the entire amount owed to Chase credit card.

He said "They'll see you in court then Buddy". Yeah right. For all you uniformed credit slaves , here is a bit of info on the "collection agencies". They are currently buying our debts at 5-7% of true value based on the poor economy and desperate banks.
Then they want 100 % of our $$ ASAP. Mayy knock off a few interest dollars, since they paid 5% they can knock off 20-30% easily and makes them appear honest and helpful. Bull Shat !

We are living in hard times each and every person has to decide what they can and what they won't pay. Keeping a roof over your head and feeding your family is more important than going homeless or hungry. These people know the company you dealt with prior to your difficulties, when you were paying but due to economic hardships you are unable to pay, these companies (who you use to pay regurally) have received stimulus money to take care of those who are having hard times. I do believe people in general try to pay their bills and not run off and you all have to agree. These companies or collection agencies buy accounts on pennies on the dollar and try to milk or harass people who are having difficult times this only leaves you frustrated and anxious. Do not let that happen it only causes heart attacks or highblood pressure. DO NOT ANSWER THEIR CALLS!! Any family members who receive their calls do likewise. When or if you get on your feet you pay the orginator if you can. I hope this helps.

Valentine and Kebartis - one of the worst in the business. They are a collection agency - one of the type that buys old debts for pennies on the dollar and then tries to collect on them. They are known for trying to make you think they are an law firm, attorney's office, etc.; they are not. They have a reputation for some fairly shady tactics - they sometimes contact the wrong party and refuse to believe they have the wrong party - also will call anyone who might ever have known a debtor - sometimes multiple times. They collect for Dell; they also collect for credit card companies and others.

THEY ARE LIARS! They called about a credit card account and threatened me. They said I was trying to commit fraud and would tell their client to sue me. They cursed at me. They called over and over. Finally I called the card company to complain and was told that the company had NEVER assigned my account to Valentine---that Valentine looks at credit reports for late payments then calls the people trying to rip them off. I gave all my recorded conversations, times of calls, numbers used, etc to the big card company and they are going to investigate. You all should do the same when they call you. Record or write down everything then call the company for which Valentine claims to be hired.

When they call, anwser the phone. Work your debt out with them. I settled for 50% of what I owed. Stop being affraid of answering the unknown and 1800 number calls and take take charge like I did. Life is much better with debt lifted off your shoulders.

This law firm/ collection agency/shark tank are the most persistent pains in the @$$e$ I can think of. They must try to reach me at least 6 times a day on average. I tell them to stop calling the phone # that they keep calling me at because I am not reachable there and, what a shock, they keep calling and harassing my entire household.

this co. is trying to collect on a cell phone bill that was paid in full 7 yrs. ago to Alltell. I settled with them for 1/2 the total of the bill. Now these people are trying to collect on the other half. i told them it was settled and they should check Alltell's computer records. they told me to provide them with the payment documentation that took place 7 yrs. ago. i don't have those bank records anymore. and for my bank to look for this info. it would cost me more than the amount owed. these people are crooks! and they can kiss my ass!

For those that owe a legitimate debt, pay it, and for those who have a legitimate reason for not paying,and there are plenty, be creative. talk up a large group and hire a lawyer to file harassment charges and ask a large enough amount to bankrupt the organization and cause them a payout for years to come. Most courts are symathetic to these kinds of rip offs.

well FYI val and kabartas was just on the news today from floria. someone received a call and it popped up with their names saying law firm. It's against the to have this come up and not be lawyers. it is to get you to pick up. i was harrassed by them saying if i didn't pay they will garnish my salary. yeah right. that takes like 3 yrs plus I filed chapter 7 and they still bother me. in law suit now with them for $100,000

These guys have been calling me, on average 5-6 times a day for the last week or so. They never leave a message, so I have no idea why they're calling. I do know for a fact that I'm current on all of my credit accounts, so they don't even have a reason to call me, anyway.

I have receiving phone calls from this company/attorneys and I am unemployed and can barely afford my electric bill. I heard Clark Howard this morning talking about a "Dead Letter" and it is on CNN's website - after sending a harassing creditor this letter it is illegal for them to call you anymore - not that that would matter this day and age. I'm not answering the phone - I'm under enough stress right now and our president can bail out the company that has retained them. I'm doing the best I can and toilet paper would be a nice commodity!

This company is calling my phone daily 2 or3 tiomes and leaving messages for a person who does not live here. When I call back to tell them, the phone is answered by a live person who then transfers me to voice mail. I figure if I just ignore them they will finally stop.

Retaining an attorney, who 99.9% of the time is a DEAD BEAT DEBTOR him/herself to begin with, in order to complain and attempt to gain sympathy over a debt in which YOU CREATED, and I'm sure not a single tear came down your face when you were spending that BANK'S money! If even just HALF this country started taking responsibility for their GREED and THEFT (requesting funds from a bank w/ no intent to pay back.) & thinking you can get away with it, by throwing around alleged alligations of unlawful practices, perhaps we wouldn't be in the midst of a RECESSION!. Funny isn't it, you don't recall a contract you agreed to or charging up that amount of money, but suddenly have enough money and time (time you could be using to FIND A JOB), to sit here and WINE... not to mention, pay the $100+ a month you probably WILLINGLY pay your cable/internet provider, to be on-line. What if, like your utility companies, instead of shutting your service off, the LUXURY items you didnt even LEGALLY PURCHASE, but more so, GOT WITH CREDIT... were REPO'D! I was in debt at one time, and it took a lot of hard work to dig my self out. All my creditors worked with me to settle my accounts. These guys would not. I ended up settling with the original debtor. If you intend to talk to these people, expect to be abused like never before. Record the phone call, and file a complaint with the FTC. If there are enough complaints, these guys will get shut down.

These people called my mother, looking for my ex who I divorced in '97 !! He's never even lived in this state, and has in the last year legally changed his name to some other first & middle name (yep, go figure... loose screw there... and happy to be divorced).
