Who Called Us

This number is for Chase credit card division harassing cardholers about obtaining identity theft portection. I am so sick of them and have complained and will do so again.

Just received a call from this number. I didn't know who it was so I didn't answer...they didn't leave a message on answering machine either

ID unavailable, No Message, No Idea... If they can't leave a message then I'm pretty sure I don't care too much about whatever they would have had to say.

It's Chase's telemarketing service. Just call the number and eventually you'll hear about adding your number to their "Do Not Call" list. Follow their instructions, enter your phone #, and "within 30 days", your number will be added to their list.

2nd call in this day; now 2;45 p.m. Don't understand why my ATT blocking service doesn't seem to work on these. Annoying, would like calls to stop.

This number harasses me at least three to five times per day and never leaves a message. I don't know who it is. I do not have any outstanding bills or unpaid monthly bills.

I have a Chase CC and get these calls numerous times a day. They never leave a message.

Thanks, Cindy. I called that number to be placed on the donotcall list. I love the fact that I didn't have to talk to anyone! Unfortunately the message said it will take up to 30 days to take effect. I imagine they would have given up on me by then anyway.

Calls every few nights around 530 pm or later. Never leave messages on machine.

Thanks to your site, I knew it was Chase Bank where we recently got a credit card. I called them and they said to call 1-800-945-9470 to be put on THEIR do-not-call list. You must call from the number you are getting the calls at.

Received calls day and night since getting new Chase card last week. Never anyone on the line when I pick up. Called the number in the comments below and was told it is an error in one of Chase's automated marketing calling systems and Chase is in process of getting it fixed. Meanwhile I should call the Chase Privacy line at 800-945-9470 to have my phone number taken off their internal marketing list, which I did. We'll see.

Call at least 3 times a day. I never answer because my caller ID shows their number. They never record a message on the answering machine. You'd think they'd give up. The telephoners must be paid per call. It's very annoying.

I guess this is a Chase number.

After receiving what was probably the thousandth hang-up-no-message call, I called the number back. Automated message identified the number as Chase Bank - giving opportunity to add my number to Do Not Call List by pressing 5. They did provide confirmation code. We'll see if it works...

DoNotCall registry does not apply if you have ever done any business with Chase or any subsidiary.

I've had the same problem as many of you. Daily calls, no message. When I called it back, the automated number said Chase and allows you to get on their "do not call list." But they are supposed to follow the national registry, not make up their own. I reported them to the national registry.
The more people who do that, the better. You can file a complaint here:

My husband recently got a credit card through them.

We have received at least 2 calls EVERY DAY from 9 am to 10:30 pm for the last month. It only shows the phone number. They never left any message.

I think it is Chase Visa trying to reach my husband who just opened an account. I'm sure it is a sales/marketing type of call.

they are a telemarketing company for chase--they call and call and call, you have to call back, wait through a bunch of messages, get to their no-call list, and wait 30 days to be removed.

This number has called several times a day over the past month. Trying to get me to transfer balances. I have hung up and told them to bugger off a couple times.

They've been ringing my phone off the hook, and I'm not a Chase customer.

This person using this phone number is a Phisher. They are trying to get info from you. This is not a Chase Bank phone number. They may say that they want to upgrade your account. They will ask for your SSN.

I have received a call 7 times in the past two days.

Received call on Aug 24 2006 at 10:52 am EST. Was on the other line, had to switch to answer this one. Huge noise at the background, apparently calling from very crowded place, may be call center. Was addressed by my last and first name. Because of the noise it took 3 times for the caller to repeat her statement. When she came to "we will start recording now" my patience expired and I dropped the phone. This is gov number so they are running directly into legal problems.

Chase has been calling with prerecorded messages, constantly, since I started using their services, preventing my phone from being used in a potential emergency. It is legal for a company to harass you if you are a customer (thanks to our lobby loyal congressmen & women), but there is nothing in the law that prevents you from becoming a former customer! So much from these @#$%'s!

I have received NUMEROUS calls from this number. They sometimes leave a short recorded message: "This call is from Chase for telemarketing purposes." I am on both state & national DNC lists, and am NOT a Chase customer! WHAT A PAIN IN THE U-NO-WHAT!

I was finally home to answer a call from this number on Friday of last week and they tried to get me to sign up for another credit card from Chase. I said no and I thought that would be the end of the phone calls. Now they have called me two to three times every day since I talked to them, not once leaving a message. I would call this harrassment!

I received 12 cals from this number this week alone, and they are calling my business number never leaving a message.

This is Chase Manhattan - the bank/credit card company. I called back the number from my work phone, which goes through a switchboard so direct line is not open and that is who it claimed to be - and they will let you add your number to an internal DO NOT CALL registry.

Called today -- I answered, they took tooo long to come on the phone. When she did, woman asked for me by name I responded "sorry, your were to slow" and hung up.

This along with hundreds of other "toll-free #s" are owned by Chase Bank for use in massive telemarketing call campaigns.

2006-07-10 called today & has been calling for about 2 weeks.

I've been receiving these calls for about 2 weeks now.

Announced as "Toll Free". A woman asked for me by my first and last name, announced she was operator #5068 and then hung up. Pretty goofy.

I didn't pick up, but I do also have a CC with Chase.

Lady asked for my boss and when I asked if I could help her she immediately went into telling me to call some number for me to call (that she rattled off too quickly) if I had questions. She hung up before she could hear me ask her as to why I would have questions.

I DIALED THE NUMBER AND IT WAS CHASE FINANCIAL/BANK WHO CALLED. YOU CAN TAKE IT OFF THE LIST OF MINE.

THEY LEFT NO MESSAGE ON THE ANSWERING MACHINE.
