Left no voicemail. Called at exactly 3 p.m. on 5/6/10. When I tried calling back, the recording said subscriber has chosen not to receive incoming calls.

There seems to be two different scams operating from this number.

The first one is an offer to lower your credit card interest rates. The second is the old "prize pitch" where they tell you that you've won a prize (a vacation, for example), but need to pay a fee or buy something to receive your prize.

Obviously, both offers are bogus. The only thing that you'll end up with is a bunch of headaches from either a stolen identity or frivolous credit charges.

As mentioned by "bob", it was a recorded message about credit card rates. The message was very garbled and then cut off part way through.

called cellphone..recorded message stating you're credit card account...and you need to call....DON'T!!!just hang up!There is NOTHING wrong with you're account.Ignore it.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
