AACC - Asset Acceptance debt collector kept calling for a Buenos Aires Steak House that has been out of buisness at what has been our telephone number for 10 years.

This is a LEGAL WAY to stop the abusive calls. It is a "funny" video, but it contains legitimate information on how to deal with telemarketers.

If you do not have a debt owed, and the company is a collection agency, follow the same instructions!

I just received a call from this number, and, of course, there was no message left.

People, you MUST REPORT EACH INCIDENT as if it were a brand new claim, to your state's Attorney General's office or website, AND to the Better Business Bureau! This is your way to document AND file claim against these abusive practices.

Make certain you are on the state and federal NO CALL LISTS first! They both have easy-to-use websites.

There you go! NOW GO DO IT, or you are at fault as much as anyone.

I don't even know how they got my phone number.

THIS TELEPHONE NUMBER HAS CALLED ME MORE THAN 5 TIMES CONSECUTIVELY, THERE IS NO PERSON ON LINE, BUT A RECORDING. I AM NOT GOING TO SIT AND LISTEN TO RECORDING SO I HANG UP, AND IT REDIALS AUTOMATICALLY. WTH IS UP WITH THAT!!!!!!!!

They keep calling with a coercive recording saying if I don't hang up I'm acknowledging that I am Doreen Wilson. This name, presumably from an old telephone number or something, has come up once in a while for TEN YEARS. I don't know her in any way, shape or form.

AACC's method is objectionable because they do not give you any way to clear it up. If you try according to their method, you are admitting guilt before anything else. This should be illegal. REGULATORS: PLEASE TAKE NOTE!

They called me today with a recording saying "This is a call for Terry. By remaining on the line, you are confirming that you are Terry". I hung up the phone, since it was a wrong number, but what confused the crap out of me is that they were asking for my friend. (omitted his last name for privacy) I called him at work and told him to look up the number on his database (oddly enough, he works for a collection agency). Since he works for a collection agency it's a requirement of his job that he have no standing debts, so I KNOW this company is a fraud. It's a fishing/identity scam, DON'T give them ANY information.

They have been calling my cell phone and I don't pick up calls I don't know. After coming here, I found out who it was and saw that they were trying to have communication with me so the account in question would re-up another 7 years which is shady work. I answered in a moment of weakness and Lafonda or something like that asked for me. Once I said who I was she said this call may be recorded, so I said to give me a moment so I can also get a recording of this call. She said she didn't authorize it and to be reasonable so I started laughing at the reasonable comment. I then told her I did not authorize you to record this call as well and hung up. I can't believe they are calling my cell phone!!

They keep calling my son's cell phone (he is 15 yrs old). He has told them they have the wrong number but they keep calling!

I have been getting calls from this company like crazy. I called them and asked what this was about. They told me I bought something from Blair and the amount I owe was around $150.00. I told them to prove it and send me something showing what I ordered. The girl I was speaking too started screaming at me and told me "you don't pay your bills." "We have sent you all kinds of billing info." I have never received anything nor have I ever ordered from this company. I do pay my bills and all I need is proof, I don't have $150.00 to throw away. The person that works there is terrible and very rude!

Called my house, I didn't answer. It seems that after reading about them they are TRUE scumbags. I don't answer calls I don't recognize. I also keep getting a call for someone who doesn't live here. Seems like some phishing is goning on!

3 calls in the past week. Doesn't leave a voice mail.

Do not feel bad this number and about 10 more numbers come from Blitt & Gaines from Chicago. CRUDE RUDE AND ABUSIVE, DO not bother to answer them and they will blow up your cell phone with 30 to 40 calls a day. pay them in full and a month later they will threaten to take you to court for more money. THEY LIE AND CHEET> THEY NEED TO BE STOPPED

verified as ASSET Acceptance , collection agency bottom feeder. Calls as unknown and a multitude of phone #'s.

a brian called my home and asked for me by my maiden name, which i haven't used for 11 yrs, he acted like he knew me, and tried guessing the area he was calling, told him no one lived here by that name, he apologized for bothering me. not sure what it was about, but anyone trying to reach me by my maiden doesnt have correct info, and i am not about to correct him

This is the company Asset Acceptance Credit. They are a credit collection agency. However, they are very 'shaddy' don't seem to have correct or all information seem to be just guessing about things. More like they are "fishing" for something.

recording: "....I'm Jim Fisher a debt collector with asset acceptance..."

No idea who they are, but I blocked their number from being able to call back. If they get around it, I will file a complaint with the police for harassment. I don't really care who they are or why they are calling, we all have rights!!!

This is collection agency trying to get us to talk and reage the account. Hum?

they called with my name and ss#, telling me that i have been taking money out of a certain bank and that i need to pay them back. i have no idea who these pple are. i've called ss to report fraud and they will be sending me some paperwork. i hope they stop calling me.

Called my phone about a personal matter asking for a Dave. Don't know a Dave...

Recorded message asking for different person etc etc and apologizes for wrong household.

they call but never leave messages..I never answer to 800 numbers..

called my cell phone. Asked for a lady named Green.

I didn't recognize the number, but answered. A woman asked for me by name and when I said, "This is she" she announded that she was LaFonda (or something similar) and this call was to collect and debt and any information received would be used for that purpose." Then she said she showed a debt in the amount of $3000 with some card company and I interrupted to say, "You must be mistaken." Then she asked if I could verify the last 4 numbers of my SSN and when I said no, she hung up.

These people are pure scum. They buy "Bulk Debt" for 2 to 4 cents on the dollar and drag you into court to collect what they can. Many violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. They use a scumbag law firm out of Chicago named Blitt & Gaines. True predators who need to be stopped some way.

This is a debt collection agency - AACC or "Asset Acceptance" in Chicago. After googling them, it scared me because they actually sue people, unlike a lot of debt companies, and I do have some bad debt.

I called the number back, and they were looking for someone else. Phew. They said they'd take my number off the call list.

I've received two calls from this number already. A recorded voice says "this message is for" and then another recorded voice comes in with my husband's name. The message gives the impression that it's from some kind of collection agency, but if it were really a collection agency, they wouldn't be using recordings.
