Scam called MVP that don't pay if you have their so called extended warrenty
Trying to sell automobile warranty. C/B number provided, 800 228 6160, informs that I have called after normal business hours.
leave me along
This is Motor Vehicle Protection, trying to sell warranties. C/B at 800-228-6160
Comes up Point Pleasand NJ...apparently want to sell extended auto warranties...also use the number 978-570-2241...usuallyy just hangs up so we don't even pick up the phone when we see it is them!
To take your name off the list dial 800 228-6160 option 3 customer support.
Did not leave a message on my answering service.
Very annoying, after telling them to remove me from their list, they are still calling every 4 hours, every day. They somehow know too much about you. They seem to know how many cars you own, the year, make, the model and that the warranty is either almost due or ended and if you would like to extend your warranty. Companies like these should be investigated for trying to keep annoying you and trying to use peer pressure into their sales. After calling my dealership on my warranty, they do not know of this company and do not affiliate with these people. This company need to be stopped.
calls both of my lines
I receive a call from this number daily and I never answer it because I don't recognize the number. They never leave a message but they keep calling and it's very annoying!
It's called 'Caller ID Spoofing' (google it) and it's ILLEGAL!
If you received a call from 732-903-0837 you are being targeted through your very own computer IP address using 'IP Geocoding' (google it).
The offending website converts your IP address into longitude and latitude, then converts it further to pin-point your home address. Your home address will reveal your identity and your telephone number.
The offenders then place a call to your home using "Caller ID Spoofing" in the hope of getting more identifying info from you. Mugshots.com uses such "internet friendly" capabilities.
They will call you using various 'caller id spoofing' numbers and caller locations (NJ, NY, UT, OH, etc) when they're really calling from Boynton Beach, Florida.
The caller ID number is bogus. The caller ID name is bogus. They pretend to be survey companies or various other companies, all at their choosing - whatever suits their fancy at the moment, whatever role they feel like playing at that particular time. They want to put information about you on the internet so you can pay them to remove it.
THESE CALLS ARE A MENACE. THIS PERSON, A WOMAN, ACTUALLY HAD ME BELIEVING THAT I WAS ILLEGALLY OPERATING MY CAR AS I DID NOT HAVE WHAT SHE WAS SELLING! COMMON SENSE TOOK OVER AND I POINT BLANK ASKED WHAT LAW I WAS BREAKING AND TO BE CONCISE IN EXPLAINING TO ME AS I WAS A FORIEGNER RECENTLY MOVED TO THE USA!!!! I TOLD HER SHE WAS BREAKING THE LAW BY HARRASSING ME AND I WOULD REPORT HER CALL TO THE POLICE, SHE HUNG UP. BUT THE CALLS KEEP ON COMING AND I REFUSE TO ANSWER THEM. I HAVE NOW LISTED THEM ON MY PHONE WITH *60 AND THAT # AND 2 OTHERS WILL BE SCREENED UNTIL THEY GIVE UP!
Do a quick search on these scammers. They are a total fraud.
These god damned low life scumbags just keep calling. The "remove" option does not work. You call back and get put on neverending hold. These people are just lowlife scammers. DO NOT do business with them. The alleged company name is "Motor Vehicle Protection Corporation". These asswipes are calling my business phone and interrupting my business and my livlihood.
Very rude... told me the dealership sent her the information since the warrenty on the primary vechicle had expired. When I asked what was the primary vechicle, she told me to stop interrupting her and she would tell me, and then proceded to babble about something. When I told her to remove me from the list, she said something along the lines of no one wanted to hear my BS anyway... and hung up.Reported to DNC as well.
I called back their 800 number and told them to take me off their list. They are calling about extending your motor vehicle coverage and were calling me on my business phone. Told them I cannot have them interrupting my business calls. Said they would remove my number.
calls all the time does not leave msg
As this dodgy firm seems to have a U.S. address, revoke call permission on paper, via USPS Certified with return card. Document all calls, including past ones in which your verbal cease-comms were ignored. Possibly it will take a summons to shut them up.
What's expected of phone pitchmen under the TSR:

These IDIOTS call several times per day. I answer, and nobody is there.
The name of the alleged "company" is "Motor Vehicle Protection Corporation".
The caller id just says Point Pleasant, NJ.
The number they give on the RECORDING when you call back is 800-228-6160.
They say to call this number to be "removed", but it does not work. It is a SCAM.
I have requested "removal" 4 times already in the past 2 weeks without success.
I filed a complaint with the FTC Do Not Call and with the FCC using the Live Call Complaint Form 1088-B.
Both agencies do nothing unless they receive a significant number of complaints. Therefore, if you want to stop these calls, ALWAYS file a complaint. The fines the company receive will make believers of them.
LOOK ! There is always to a solution to every problem. I have been getting sveral calls from 732-903-0837 too. It seems like its a warrenty company selling thier products. I found their number at the BBB site. Tel: (732) 920-8700 . I called and asked to be removed from the call back list. They did. Easy.
I got a call from this number this morning. I said hello and a lady started talking about vehicle protection plan blablabla. She spoke so fast that I couldn't understand what she said. Then she asked me to verify my vehicle's information, otherwise she would close our vehicle's file. I said since you already have the vehicle's file why you ask me to give you these information. She was very angry and rude. I asked her name and call back number, but she refused to tell me. Very unpleasant experience!
With these car warranty companies, just answer and if they actually pick up and go on about your expiring car warranty... Tell them you have, for example, a 1969 Dodge Challenger with 486,000 miles on it. Then ask what kind of warranty they can offer. That's what I did. Good times.
this number called an elderly senior citizen today, 9/17/2010 but the senior citizen was wise & gave no information & hung up.
I got a call from this number a minute ago; I said hello twice and they hung up.
We have started getting these calls recently. After reading other comments I believe it has something to do with us paying off one of our vehicles. I've also answered the calls, since I know people in the 732 area code, and no one is on the other end even after 20 seconds or so. Now I'm off to block the number.
Our cars are 13 years old and their warranties expired a long time ago! Definitely a sales pitch....NEXT!
Caller id says MVP. Company goes under many names: Motor Vehicle Protection, Selltel, Inc., Selltel of Fla., Inc., Warrantybynet, National Protection Service, National Protection Plan, etc. Their corporate # is 1-732-920-8700. Owners are David Gartenberg (ext. 104) and son Evan Gartenberg (ext.113) out of Brick,N.J.. Customer Service Manager is Carla Maxwell (ext. 103). CALL AND COMPLAIN!! They keep calling even if you're on Federal Do Not Call list. They don’t care!
They started calling me about five days ago, sometimes twice a day. No one is ever on the line when I answer. Very annoying. My CALLER ID indicates "MVP". I have a telephone that can block individual numbers. I am adding theirs to my list. I am on the national "Do Not Call" list but some people just blatantly ignore it and hope to get away with it.
There was no one on the phone after several "Hello's" this usually indicates a computer generated call, but I don't know. We just hung up. We are supposed to be on the "do not call list".
they must be using automated call-ahead because no one answered after saying "hello" twice.
I got a call from this number around 10:30 AM ET. All I know was that was about either car warranties or auto insurance; the guy was mumbling and talking so fast I didn't hear or understand a word he said.
call regularly but don't leave message - shows as "MVP" on caller id
Rude guy starts talking before I finish my Good afternoon, Peter .. speaking.
They need to be closed down.
This call came not 10 minutes after another call came from another New Jersey # from another auto warranty company. Of course, no one says anything when I answered, they just hung up. Im on the do not call list, but apparently scam auto warranty companies don't give a darn about that list. My husband called the number back and it gave a recording about leaving our # so it would be put on their do not call list, so after he left our number, he also left a few choice words.. we'll see if they call again.
Keep getting calls from this number....no one will speak..only hang up when answered...reveived two calls within the paast 36 hours...
On my collar ID it said MVP... I didn't answer. I always google the # first, when the number seems weird.
this is a bad call do not answer there questions
claim they called to replace warrenty on my car funny thing is if you don't have a car I don't think you would need a warrenty
National Auto Division - CALL THEM TO COMPLAIN!
I received the same calls and the same rude, offensive behavior. I did a little digging based upon what some of the posts here and called National Auto Division in New Jersey at 800.430.4428 then pressed 0 for the operator. I spoke with George (I am withholding his last name) and told him what was happening. He apologized and took my phone number and promised to remove my number within 20 minutes. I went on to inform him of the goings on in Palmdale, CA and of the postings on this web site of abuse and how angry people are. He said he would look into it. I have no idea if he is sincere he is. If the calls persist I will report it to this site.
Ext car warranty offer
Keeps calling 2-3 a day and nobody says anything. Strange....
Selling car extended warranties. Didn't know our names or what vehicles we owned. Was very aggressive and rude. Would not provide a company name or a call-back number. We are on the no-call list but they called anyway.
called 1-800-228-6160 spoke to service rep he advised want off call list, said no problem could not hear any typing, question him said they write down number then another person removes. Sick of these people.
i say hello the other end has no response several calls in the last week. annoying. reported to FCC
I pick up the phone and they say " hae?" what is that? Before I hung up I said " Here is no hae.
It's some company selling "extended" car warranty.
I took the advise of Paul and had them put me on the do not call list i spoke to Ian.I did NOT hear him typeing it in so we will see what happens.
Receive call & no one speaks. I give them about 3-5 seconds before I hang up.
I decided to give them a taste of their own medicine and called them back. Planning not to say anything. I got a message which will help all of you. To get on their own do not call list (in house) I called 1-800-228-6160. A short menu is heard, then press 3 to speak to customer service. The wait for an agent was about 5 seconds. I told her that I want to be on the do not call list. She asked for my phone number and as I gave her the digits I could hear her typing it in. She said it'll take 24 hours for it to affect the system. They call every morning at 10:40am 5 days a week. So we'll see if it happens. She was very nice about it, short and sweet no small talk, no sales pitch.
So that's the # you all want.
caller id MVP no one is ever on the line. they call 2-3 times a day.
Received a call today from 732-903-0837, told me my warranty was a bout to expire on my car. He asked me to "confirm" the amount of miles. I did - he said sounds like a new car, I told him it was... he hung up on me!!! I called the number back and was given some options and ended up on hold for 15 minutes, long distance and I hung up. My suggestion is DO NOT TAKE CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER!! It sounds bogus.
I just recevied this from this number and shows on ID MVP I answered said Hello and they said Hello and I said Yeah and then they hang up I put my number on the do not call list so far it is working it cut down on the calls from all this scammers!!!
I have asked the person calling from this number to put me on their "Do Not Call Back List". He ignored my request and continued trying to talk "warranty" info. This was obviously a hard sales call - I finally told the caller that I felt this was a harrassing call and that I was going to call the police.
Called my mother about a vehicle with less than 10,000 miles. We don't have a vehicle. When I handed the phone to my mother, there was no response so she hung up.
Love the Tonya and Anne's comments - people that obviously work for NPS. Clearly a scam - they don't follow the Federal law of the DO NOT CALL LIST. This is a scam. Plain and simple. Hang up on these people - don't give them any money.
NPS showed up on my caller ID and so I picked it up, a very polite woman told me about a car warranty that was a good deal for me since I have less than 100,000 miles on my truck. They knew my mailing address. She gave me a quote (after I politley told her that I do not make decisions without my husband) of $1,053 down payment and then $175.33 a month. I said no way she then quoted $702.00 down and 175.37 for less months. I said hell no to that then she wanted me to only give her $200 dollars now as a down payment. (they started so high then went down to $200? fishy) I was like are you crazy? Who has that to give away to somebody over the phone when you haven't even been clear as to who you work for or calling from? After repeating several times I will not spend any money without my husband, she wanted me to call him at work on another line about this crazy stuff. She did not respect my decision when I said no many times. This has to be a scam!!!!
The very nice person said she showed that I have a car with under 100,000 miles and then goes on and on. I ask her is it also shows I am on the no call list? She politly says no and she apprecaites my honesty (whatever that is supposed to mean) and continues to talk I ask to be removed and she says oh wait you need to hear blah blah blah. I hang up. GRRRRR
Call came in at 9:39 am, ID was NPS and I did not pick up. Looked it up online and found this site. I'm already on the do not call list; apparently this one slipped through.
Thanks for the info everyone, now that I know this is a scam, I'll certainly keep on ignoring it.
Auto warranty scam. They didn't even bother asking for anyone by name.
Ditto here. Several calls in the last few days including one a few minutes ago. No response when we say "hello?" Just an annoyance.
THey call & hang up when i say hello.
I keep getting this call from NPS. I do not have clue of who they are. I think they are just someone that is prak calling people at random. This This is second prank caller that gotten in past 6 months. There was this 666-666-6666 that called me before. I found a webstie about that parnk caller much like this one. Let voice mail pick it up and they will hang up on you. That best thing that anyone can do with people that call them that do not know.
Called on my new (I received the number this morning)distinctive ring line. Same BS about car insurance and my car having less than 175,000 miles on it. When I asked how she knew my car had less than 175k on it, she said they receive that info from DMV. I replied that DMV DOES NOT forward records of milage to anyone (even if they had a way to tabulate this data). She started humming and hawing. I told her to tell her "supervisor" that they were full of BS, and as a licensed Private Investigator I'm well aware of this scam and will report them.
Her response was...click
Insurance Company calling about extended auto warranty!!! What a scam.
Called ID said NPS, didn't pick up
