How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

I was able to contact Mr. Selwyn Dusheiko who was very courteous to me and assured the my number would be added to the do not call list. I have no major quarrels with any legitimate company attempting to do business and as annoying as the DNC "loopholing" is in permitting this type of solicitation because I'm a CL&P customer I must begrudge any proper business entity the one contact to enable the removal of my number.
The original call was a hang-up call... apparently the technical issues that bedeviled them in April are still alive and well in June- and the IT people with his phone service provider are not doing their jobs. Since he was as courteous as he was I did offer as much detail of my experience for him to relay to the customer service folks doing him the disservice of assuring that everything is working just fine. the technology is supposed to disconnect when an answering machine picks up and the last time I checked I was a human being.
In any case, this appears to be a legitimate entity taking advantage of what has been given them... I'd probably do the same if I were in their shoes.
After several irritating hang-up calls, I put forth the effort to track this company down. Here is the real story and helpful information to get you on their do-not-call list.
Pure Discount Energy is a call center on behalf of Public Power, an electric supplier trying to get people to change from CL&P and UI for their electric supplies under the changed regulations in the State of Connecticut. I checked, and Public Power is registered as a supplier with the State of Connecticut Public Utilities Regulatory Authority, so everything is on the up-and-up. I believe that under the "Do not call" laws, all these electric suppliers that have been calling us are allowed to because we use the electric company.
Pure Discount Energy aka Pinnacle Accounting is having trouble with their computerized dialing system and apparently if it can't match you to someone right away it hesitates and then hangs up, sometimes saying "Goodbye." If you call back, there is no actual phone connected to that outgoing line to receive incoming calls, so nobody will answer.
If you wish to be put on their "Do not call" list, please contact Mr. Selwyn Dusheiko, (727) 773-1040, and ask to be removed. Notice this number is slightly different from the number that called you. The do not call information will also be passed on to the company he is working on behalf of. Mr. Dusheiko was EXTREMELY nice when I called, and explained things very thoroughly, so please be nice when you call him.
Hung up when I picked up. Who is this? I am on the Do Not Call list, just renewed, and I don't want the hassle.
Called around 4:41 p.m. No one was there when we answered; then a voice said good-bye. We've received calls from this number several times before, always with no one there.
