If students stuck with argument essay writing, thus I would recommend to buy essay paper at some professional paper writing service under such circumstances.

I took the advise of one commentator and called the front desk at 727-549-2272. I asked them to put me on the "do not call" list and they did quickly and politely.

Have been receiving calls for 2 weeks, 4 or more a day. Finally, answered one yesterday, asked about my sons mastercard told them he wasn't home. Have gotten 2 calls today starting a 9 am - haven't answered.

2007-11-12 19:15:42 UTCDiane

Received a call this morning....when I answered they asked for me by my first name only....I replied "yes"...then they hung up.....could they possibly use that "yes" as approval for something devious? I am concerned

I worked for this company recently. It is not a bad company the people there are professional. I am not aware of persons being called repeatedly numerous times a day, as we called outside of florida. I know that if someone asks to be removed from the DNC list it is done immediately without hesitation. Perhaps it is fair to note that yelling at a rep and hanging who may have just started may cause that person to place you on the callback list. You simply say, "Sir/Maam, put me on your do not call list. Thank you" I am sure it will be done if not then call the company directly and they will remove your name from the calling list. Reps do not make $ by calling people who are not interested and continue to ignore or hang up. Get on the DNC list so these reps can do their job with people who are interested in receiving wonderful gifts for trying a 10 day risk free trial membership. You all are smart enough to post your comments I am quite sure you are intelligent enough to calmly find a solution to remove yourself from a calling list. :) Use your time wisely.

I have also been getting numerous weird calls...their new line is that as a valued customer of (fill in the blank...visa..citibank..penneys)they are offering a lowered interest rate that will expire in about 20 seconds. When you ask then which c.c. they are with they hang-up but keep calling back. Also, they had info that they should not. I also recently discovered monthly charges to my jc penneys card under the name Leisure Plus, which I believe is connected to these so-called marketing groups.I started getting the calls and charges after booking a trip with Orbitz and shopping at Amazon. I remember seeing a jc penneys ad on one of their links. Penneys website actually has a disclaimer about these ads, but they still allow charges to go thru every month.I didn't notice at first, I only use their card about once a year and pay it off. I finally noticed after getting overdue notices and $25 late fees on $8.50 that they have been billing on my card for at least 4 months. If you actually go to Leisure Plus on the web it pops up blank with two lines of type that say, "Sorry but there are no offers available to you at this time, we hope to serve you in the near future." Hell, I don't even know what their "services" are. I think alot of these problems generate from slick "look-alike ads" that are being allowed on legitimate business websites. I recently contacted I.E. about a pop-up window that looks exactly like theirs that appears in front of their actual page, the only difference if you look closely is that it is semi-transparent. I copied it and sent it off then killed it.

Also, if you ever want to get through to them over the phone and harrass them back, the # for the front desk is 727-549-2272

2007-07-24 06:47:49 UTCAngrytoothbrush

Yah, so I worked for this company "Epiphany Worldwide LLC" for a little more than a month and, gosh, what a bunch of SCUM!!! They screwed me on pay and lied and lied and dogged on everyone that they 'sold' to and other people that worked for them and .....whew. I want to make them pay. Especially the jerkface owner, Joe Costa. If I ever see him on the street..... well.. You don't want to be standing around. Hoping they get shut down and that I get what money they still owe me. By the way, the office is located at 5621 Park Street N. in Pinellas Park, FL if anyone is interested in stopping by and making their impression felt. PEACE!

2007-06-05 23:12:52 UTCBTW

They let people with a felony work there and do the calling. They have them apply for a license to do the work they do which takes around 2-3 months but in the mean time they are allowed to see all your credit card information before they are fired! They do eventually fire those with felonies but my ex has a felony and they knew about it and didn't care. They just told her to keep working until the license fails. She has told me stories of druggies coming into work stoned and the bosses would only say to them,"Man! You smell like weed and look high as hell! Put some cologne on or something." And let them go back to work. Biggest scam ever.

2007-06-04 17:40:50 UTCSHITTY VERIZON

THE COMMERCIAL WHERE VERIZON KIDNAPS A PUPPY AS A METAPHOR OF THEM CONTROLLING YOU IN ANY KIND OF CONTRACT IS SO TRUE. I HATE VERIZON. I USED TO LIKE THEIR CLEAR RECEPTION BUT THAT IS FAILING: THEY ARE NO BETTER THAN ANY OTHER COMPANY THESE DAYS. IN FACT, THEY ARE MUCH, MUCH WORSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

2007-05-29 17:28:14 UTCMore info

The company is also known as:

B Grouper Marketing Inc
5621 Park Street North
Saint Petersburg, FL 33709-6310
Phone: (727) 549-2272

They are located in the corner (very hidden but goto the corner of the plaza) of a Publix shopping plaza.

2007-05-29 17:07:55 UTCThe real number

727-549-2272

They are located in St. Pete. My ex works there and I recognized the number, the name of the company, and the script she uses to call people. This company is a fraud.

727-549-2272 is the real number to reach the people who work there and their managers.

2007-05-23 19:26:15 UTCBig Daddy King

ONE HARD WORKER- I enjoyed your little rant. It was amusing. If you were as smart as you tried to sound, first off you would look in the dictionary to find words that actually go together. Secondly, you wouldn't have your credit card # floating around different companies. So go back to the jobsite, dig your ditches, and realize that we are millionaires and pretty much untouchable!

2007-05-19 03:43:16 UTCfinally

the FBI are all on it!

2007-05-18 23:25:01 UTCUtell Me

mentioning 702 # they called my work # first and then they called my cell phone.. thinking about this I did apply for a money loan.. and I think the website was a fraud... so I cancelled it and I think it still keep track of your information.. I have not heard from the company at all.. unless this is the company who been calling me which is a scam... I also called my bank and notified them and closed my account.

2007-05-18 23:12:28 UTCUtell Me

I feel the anger!!!!! The # that keep calling me is 727-538-2200... I called back and they stated it's Gold Line Credit Card! I was trying to get them to remove my # but the mailbox was full.... per the automative system all the operators was busy...yeah right scammers! They better stop calling my phone!!!!! Then a 702# called me couldn't catch that # so not sure what or who that is... I will keep you posted on that #. I will check back on this scam... and in the process will be reporting this to the police as well as my news station.

2007-05-18 20:45:16 UTCOBVIOUS

okay law enforcement and investigator people. hopefully you have already figured out that this criminal is either a bank employee or someone hacking into the Bank's computer records. proof? well i didn't get any calls for a long time after i refused to answer and threatened to share the info that i gathered from my research. then THE EXACT SAME DAY i change my account, just out of the blue....after all that time not calling me..i get a call from 000-000-0000 which is linked to 727-541-0001 (they give the exact same schpeel) the probability of them calling me RIGHT after i change my info and NOT having direct access to bank records.... is incredibly small.

secondly, i have a feeling i know who this scam conartist is but i am not 100% sure so i choose not to tell the FBI unless they asked me. i don't want to be telling on people who i have no solid evidence on. i just hope the FBI has not left this stone unturned.

IS there ANYONE else out there who think they know who this scammer (ring leader) is ? or is it just me?

2007-05-15 20:35:12 UTCFred

This prick calls me daily also. He told me he was from Discover Card Rewards. Trying to get my number. I called Discover card and cancelled my card. If any body finds this prick post it on the web site so we can kick his butt.

2007-05-13 02:39:54 UTCDave

Received multiple calls from this number over a couple of days. Different operators, obviously trying hard to scam. They're retarded, and it didn't work.

2007-05-11 05:36:15 UTCDavid

OMG! They have called me every single day for approx 30days. i call back and all i git is "this number is out of service by an operator" ugh!

This phone number start calling me, may 1, they called me everyday never answered my cellphone. call me morning noon and evening. I never answer it. and they never leave a message either. I believed its a fraud....

Big Daddy King. Piss off! Your neandering comments about common sense, and intellect is a reflection of your ignorance, and your self impression or lack there of. You are maybe ignorant at best. You possibily dont even know any better. In those reguards i feel sorry for you. And I know your Mother must feel the same way, for such a reject to society, who has always wanted what he couldnt have. ie;( the girl, the car, the MONEY, the house, and for obvious reasons other things.) You somewhere down the line have convinced your self that this Scam or any scam is not wrong. Therfore its obvious you cant comprehend the diffrence of right and wrong. Hope it comes back on you seven fold. Find a work ethic, get a role model, quit taking the easy way out, and leave your incoherent comments about paranoia and YOUR FRAUDulent mentality, wherever people like you stagnate. Heres to the people who put in a honest days work. For a honest days pay. P.S. Truley Big Daddy Scam, PISS OFF!

This number has called me 3 times a day for the past 10 days. I keep answering and just letting it sit so maybe they'll stop. They don't. Earlier today I answered and it was a man saying he was hungry and asked if I had food.
It was really weird.

I'm glad looked this up and that someone is finally doing something about it.

2007-05-08 02:24:48 UTCMary

I did not answer because I didn't recognize number. They have called 3 times today!

2007-05-05 14:30:20 UTCAnge

this number has been calling me for the past weeks and I've had my number for over 10yrs and I'wont change it. I've made a police report and hopfully they can help me.

2007-05-05 00:19:33 UTCStanley Tweedle

I just recently filed a police report about their life threatening phone calls and the FBI is now handeling this. They said they are all over it

2007-05-04 23:01:23 UTCMark

I placed an order for something advertised on TV (which by the way I was not happy with the way the order was handled). I've been receiving these calls ever since. When you call the number, you get a "disconnected number" recording. I have a private number and I'm reporting them to the phone co. if they keep it up.

2007-05-03 22:33:26 UTCAH

They have been calling me at least 4 times a day for the past 2 weeks. I have voicemail and they don't hang up before it picks up and they message he left today was a frustrated sign/grunt noise. I did hear someone in the back ground-a man shouting something i can't make out. Weird and extremely annoying!!!

RESULTS!!! I have call forwarding with my service. I forwarded all calls from 727-541-0001 to United Marketing Groups 1-800-399-6661. Basically, when they call me, they now call themsleves. It took 2 days, but the calls have now stopped! Good luck all

2007-05-01 19:01:16 UTCMike

I purchased an item from a TV commercial buylistenup.com. Ever since then I received 55 calls on my cell (during 10 day period). I bought a personal sound amplifier. It does not really work properly. Its a scam. They sell your phone numbers!

2007-05-01 06:15:30 UTCWillis

I've gotten calls from this number but wasnt avail. to answer it. I continue to get these unknown calls from several people apparently & they always offer something free. I just tell them i'm well off enough to pay regular price for my gas & groceries rather than take their "free" offer & risk giving out personal info. or I deny my existance if they know my name. Saying "I dont do business with foreigners" works well too!

I get these calls too. After a while, I politely spoke to the lady and told her if her or anyone from company calls me again, I will hunt them down and kill their kids.

The calls have subsquently stopped.

these people claim to be from Visa Rewards, saying Ive won a $100 gift card for gas and a $2000 shopping spree and they have all of my information. I've asked repeatedly to stop calling me, but the second I do so they hang up. When I ask who they work for, they hang up. When I ask how they got my information, they hang up. I'd really enjoy it if we can stop these people. I've had many women/men call.

oh my god!!! these effers have been calling me for days.. i say "no thanks" take me off the list. they still call. they're making me mental! the one woman said i should just ignore the phone then.. but who wants to listen to an endlessly ringing phone!?!?

2007-04-28 04:08:39 UTCClara

Today my phone rang 9:00am as usual..quess who..this time it was a woman I let her talked she said she was from Sears and when she was about to mentioned the last four digits of my cc I went MAD and told her I kew what she was up to and that myself and many many others had contacted the FBI and reporter their scam. I did not give her a chance to respond and told her not to call anymore ...I sounded deranged...I truly hope it worked.

i've received numerous calls from this "company", lol, my turn to get even and yours too!!!!!!
here's how, go buy a whistle, when they call, answer, wait for them to speak, and then take a deep, deep breathe and blow!!!!!!!!! see if it works!! maybe they'll quit or will find another line of work because we have blown they're ear drums out!!! good luck!!!

This number calls me all damn day and everytime I call it back it says the number has been disconected. who are they?

2007-04-27 19:54:10 UTCRoman

The 727 is Mayfield Kentucky Area Code. The prick sounded like he was rolling the wheel in a revolver when I recieved the first voice mail from him.

2007-04-27 17:57:08 UTCCJR

Those devils called me again. The caller was Brian from Visa Rewards. I asked for a callback number and he gave me 877-807-2392. The Google lookup shows this number belongs to Direct Discount Club P.O.Box 1466 Great Falls, MT 59403 - Member Services # is 800-293-1155 and Product Utilization is 877-807-2392. When I asked which bank issued the Visa account, he told me he was with Visa Rewards not a bank. I started pressing him for more information and he hung up. A call-back to 727-541-0001 resulted in a recording that says the number is no longer in service or has been disconnected. BEWARE. Thanks to all of you who have taken the time to post alerts. This person keeps on calling and when i call back, the # is unavailable.

2007-04-26 23:06:27 UTCnot fooled

i think this is like a two person operation. from what i've heard it's either a hispanic man or woman.

2007-04-26 22:30:48 UTCLiv

Same thing happened to me - and it was so obviously a scam. The called has been "Galaxy Member Benefits", "Discount Company" and "Visa Rewards" (all from the same number). I started asking questions so I could report the company, and the man who I was speaking to got really angry and shouted "I'll bet you're not married! And if you were, your husband left you!" (I'm a 20 year old college student) Then I said I'd report him and he told me: "No one will marry you!" .. Not very professional.

2007-04-26 21:08:40 UTCCJR

I've been getting phone calls on and off for about a week. Yesterday I answered. They claimed to be from Visa, offering disounts for Gas, Restaurants, etc. They said they would send a package for me to review and charge my credit card $1, then I could cancel at any time. That's when I stopped them mid-sentence. I've gotten two calls since, but when I picked up, there's nothing on the other end of the line. That's when I decided to google the number and found this website. I have to admit, I'm a little worried now. I didn't give them any information, but wonder where they got my name and number.

2007-04-26 19:25:48 UTCnate penwell

I keep getting calls too, everyday, so Finally I answered, but i used my scary voice changer from halloween, so i talked like a monster to them, and asked them if they like scary movies....they never called back! funny stuff! all you need to do is record it and be stupid to them. it works!

2007-04-26 02:09:30 UTCClara

This phone calls are driving me crazy... they call 6 times a day every day including saturdays and this has been going on for about a month now. My answering machine is on all the time. I did answer one time and the guy said he was from Sears credit card, he asked for my name, but immedidately I sensed something wrong in his voice and in a very mean way and mean voice I told him the person was not home, so he got kind of angry and hang up the phone, I immediately called Sears credit card and was told that such number did not appeared on their list, and that they saw no reason for anyone to be calling me because vereything was fine with my record, they said I should be careful because it sounded like a scam. After calling Sears I called back the number(727)541-0001 and got a recording stating that the number was disconnected or no longer in service. Well!! I don't understand because I'm STILL getting the calls every day from that same number (maybe is a ghost - an evil one) I then called my telephone provider and explained the situation and was told that it seemed to be a fax machine and that they could not do anything and suggested that I register at the "do not call registry" webside. This is really a terrible thing ! is very scary. It seems everyones personal information is in criminal hands.

2007-04-25 17:14:08 UTCb

I have been getting these calls for a week and a half, but I haven't answered one of them. So far it's noon and no calls! I'm starting to get excited...knock on wood

2007-04-25 03:20:42 UTCnot fooled

p.s. beware of wolves in sheeps clothing.

2007-04-25 03:14:18 UTCnot fooled

it's not so much of a business scam...more along the lines of a conartist scam. for it to be a business scam it would require the business to actually exist. for it to exist it would have to actually provide a service or a product...which it doesn't. for it to exist the "staff" would have to exist. they don't. it's just fraud. don't answer. don't call back. report to local authorities or FBI.

2007-04-24 22:02:35 UTCTracey

I told them I don't have a Visa card, I just cancelled it (not true). They haven't called since.

2007-04-24 16:07:16 UTCAnonymous

They have my name, last 4 digits of my CC, phone# and my address.

A different person calls 5 times per day with the same sales pitch: $1000 shopping spree, $40 gift card, 30 day trail period in which you can cancel at any time etc etc etc blah blah blah.

The woman claims to be from 'Leisure Plus' which I highly doubt after reading the previous posts. These people are definetly scammers who are fishing for someone to give them all the info they need to rape credit card accounts.

2007-04-24 00:27:54 UTCRyan

Claimed to be Visa rewards program; I told them I knew it was a scam and the woman on the line hung up on me.

Thanks to the information provided by R Dub of
fusionradionetworks.com

I discovered that these guys gain access to our information after you first make a purchase from some other company, such as something advertised on TV or the internet. For me, the offending company that apparently provided my information to these assholes, was Slendertone of slendertone.tv

I presume they must be the offending company that sold my information since that is the first online purchase I have made in over two years, and I only started receiving calls after returning their product.

If anyone else can narrow down the companies that sell our information to these guys, please post it. It might help in providing fair warning to others, as well as possible information for a class action suit.

next i saw: prnewswire.com=

makes it look all legit. two big companies merging together. and one just happens to be united marketing group!! the group claiming to merge with is
Ultradata systems. it even gives a ticket symbol link. ULTR.ohhlala looks like the company is doing great. on this website it says ultra is " a leading manufacturer of portable handheld travel
computers, which provide information along the roads. Ultradata Systems also
owns one-third interest in DriveThere.com." well...if you look up the ticker ULTR on yahoo finace it's called Ultrapetrol. um yeah...and they "operates as a marine transportation company" ha.

3rd and last example. probably the best fake website out of them all. redcoatpublishing.com

they must have put a lot of time in that one.maybe even photoshop.

it's all to make this company look legit. real. but they aren't. i bet they are even hiring people who think it's a real telemarketing job. they have fooled msn. these crooks are even on THIS freaking website. and this other complaint forum:associatedcontent.com

*look at the posts from AS on the bottom of the website.

seems pretty sensitive for someone not involved in a scam i'd say....all i can say is wow. no wonder the FBI is having a hard time tracking this scum. he or she is a computer, conartist, bully, fraud, genuis.

2007-04-20 04:57:51 UTCWOW pt. 2

if you google united marketing group, you'll see another company named this. it appears legit, services are web design and print. i bet the UMG scammers are using this company name because it does exist as another company.

i saw a link that's quite ironic. shopping.msn.com

two PHONES for sale on msn shopping! PHONES..(cough). it says by united marking group. the site was updated on april 17,2007. those are the only two products under that "brand." other brands don't put a link to another store in their where to buy link. but this one for some reason uses the store Hammacher Schlemmer which is brand listed on the msn shopping site. apparently a 'business' can contact msn and get a merchandise account started pretty easily. hmmm. weird.

These motherfuckers keep callin' and shit, so what i did, is that i rigged my phone to shorten how many times my phone can ring. So i did it for only 2 rings, and it went to voice mail and iHeard a GANG of people in the background on my voice mail. Sounds like scam all the way around. Its just like that movie "Boiler Room" when they are all in the office tryin' to offer free shit. Don't pick up, and don't give out any info about yourself at all. Its gotten to the point where they call me like around 9 in the fuckin' mornin' when i'm sleep after i fall asleep at 3, that is not cool. so i've just started receiving the creepy calls from the infamous number. i'm so glad this website is here. luckily i didn't call back because i first looked the number up online. then when i found out about this whole thing i immediately contacted the fbi and told them i've started getting their calls. strangely i got a call about a month ago on my land line from someone that sounded suspicious asking about banking info. i think it might have been the same thing. there is something not right about this. the FBI needs to intervene. seriously, this is creeping me out. i've deleted all my online accounts. i mean ever online account with every venue i've ever purchased through. i think there is some connection with US Bank. i'd like to know if there was any connection with age and gender in these calls. so far i've heard lots of young females on cell phones are being targeted. more than men. just an observation from stories i've been reading. is this pattern seen by anyone else out there?

We received a call from this number as well. Just like others on this page, he only knew the last 4 digits of our account. He hung up when I pressed for more information. As with others on this page, he has called many times. We closed our account and are reporting to the state attorney general.

2007-02-10 02:37:10 UTCEd

I've received lots of calls from 702-553-0594, 800-266-9420, 813-541-0001 and 800-871-0631 (as well as lots of restricted, unavailable & 000-000-0000 caller IDs.)

They all loop back to a few organizations: Adaptive Marketing LLC, UMG, plus a couple of others.

Their conduct constitutes violations of federal telemarketing laws (calling DNC numbers, concealing caller IDs or company names, etc.), harassment, intimidation, retaliation and assault (cursing at us when we don't buy their garbage). These violations are worth at least $10,000 PER CALL so get a percentage-based attorney and go make some money!

I have to add a side note: do not listen to any input from any person that fails to consider the legal ramifications of the actions and conduct of these organizations. I have to wonder about the motives of people who seem to believe it is legal for organizations to harass and intimidate people into accepting charges for services that we do not want and who also advocate that it is somehow legal for those same entities to blatantly ignore and violate the law in an attempt to increase revenues. It makes me think that in addition to being egregiously incorrect in their conclusions perhaps they also work for the same organizations that are harassing all of us.

2007-02-09 10:44:08 UTCjack

I think that if everyone pick up the phone, but don't answer the phone. It may consume their resource or delay their system. They will finally know it will not work on these call except let they lost money. I started do this today as they call 6-8 times per day.

I keep track of this website along with a couple others simply because it's funny to me to see how uneducated people are. It is not a scam. It is perfectly legal and ethical. If it was illegal, the company would have been shut down by now. If you pay attention and actually listen to the phone call, you'll find out that they are not asking for credit card information, they already have it. You volunteered your information to a company when you made a purchase. Obtaining that information and using it to market other products and programs is legal. If it wasn't, this company and many others would not be in business. Think about it people....

I just got a call from this number today. As always, I Google any number I don't recognize. I was shocked when I the numerous pages relating to this fraud.

NEVER give an unknown person your CC info. If there is any question hang up and call the company you think is calling yourself.

I've only had one call..but I'm afraid they are going to begin calling on a daily basis.

The next time they call I am going to answer the phone as "Jack from Toledo Police Department" and see what they say!

Trying to scam somebody is NOT an honest and legal way to make a living nor is it "legal" or "ethical".

2007-01-17 19:35:48 UTCpete

call United Marketing Groups 1-800-399-6661 from a pay phone. When they answer just say 50 cents and hand up. do it a couple of times. it is my understanding that whoever is paying the bill on the 800 # gets charged 50 cents for each call that comes from a pay phone.

2007-01-15 15:53:52 UTCBig Daddy King

All you guys are pitiful. You have absolutley no knowledge about business or marketing. It is perfectly legal, and ethical, to use information obtained from purchases. If you choose to do business with a company which in thier privacy policy clearly allows them to trade and or sell your information then you have no one to blame but yourself. If you were as savvy as you think you are you would never receive any phone calls from hard working people trying to make an honest living like you or I. Do yourself a favor and stop being so paranoid with this conspiracy theory that everyone is out to get you. I can only hope some of your intelligent readers can take this to head, but I doubt you have any. Please answer with only a clear yes or correct for verification purposes and we will get your gifts right out to you!!! P.S. - It's not for credit card insurance!!!

727-541-0001 has been calling me EVERYDAY non-stop up to 5 times a day starting as early as 8AM until late evening. i have yet to answer this call, and i wont, but it's really making me insane! ive already registered on DNC list, so ive put in a complaint, and they will get fined.

Sweet justice!

who are these people, and how did they get my information. i also get a 8002669420 number that calls and hangs up all day.

2006-12-08 20:37:26 UTCjd

I have been calling all sort of #s today tracing them each back to UMG - United Marketing Group, which is the name of the company that is calling from the # 727-541-0001. I finally got a 800 # that is supposed to completely wipe your phone # from their calling database. Give them a call and see if it works. By the way, they will try to play stupid with you insisting that are not associated with UMG, tell them otherwise, tell them that their company name is plastered all over the internet in relation to shady business practices and demand that your # be removed. The # is 1-800-399-6661.

2006-12-08 18:11:25 UTCjd

this number has called 6 times in the past two days. It is a reported scam company trying to lure you into accepting a one dollar charge in return for all sorts of gifts such as free gas for a year, free frequent flyer miles etc. They call, sometimes ask to speak to me, sometimes they hang up, and the last time i answered the caller was carrying on a conversation in the background and all i could hear was laughter. Another aggravating little tid bit is most of the time the caller is someone of hispanic decent that speaks really broken english. It seems like if they were going to hastle you they would atleast go as far as getting someone that spoke decent english.

they called me several times over a period of several weeks. i wish i could block them. they even mistakenly left a voicemail, a voice of a woman talking to a man about some sort of cabinet or something it was funny. but im still sick of the phone calls.

2006-12-05 02:57:36 UTCK Lewis

Person said they were calling from Visa, which is not something that would happen. This # is my husbands, they gave the last 4 digits of an account number that is one digit off of one of ours. He kept asking my full name and I refused stating if he were indeed calling from the bank he would have that information. He was offering free gas, free shopping, and some other items. I also asked where he received the cell # because this is not something we use when placing orders, he stated it was received from an internet order or something.

I was receiving phone calls from 727 541-0001 on my cell phone, morning, noon & night. After the first call I Googled the number & found the same thing everyone else did, a credit card scam. I told them I knew it was a scam, asked them not to call back, said I reported them to the police and was having my phone monitered... nothing worked, they just kept calling back. UNTIL 2 weeks ago. It was a Saturday morning and I was working in my garage. They called my cell and I answered... breathing heavy from working I said "Buddy, you caught me at a bad time... I got my **** in my hand and I'm ready to ***!" With that he swore at me, hung up and has NEVER called back. It's been over 3 weeks now.

I called Amazon.com about this issue because the phone calls only started after i had purchased a book from their site. "Coincidence..???" Amazon.com told me to send an email to (stop-spoofing@amazon.com) explaining the situation. I hope everyone sends them an email complaining because i have had enough.. They can not sell our information and get away with it...
Please send ur complaints to:

Been getting calls for over a week now. 2+ calls per day. Answered once, no one responded. Looked them up and saw this site. Some one mentioned Amazon.com selling info. I went to the site. They didn't have my cell #. Maybe there is something else we all have in common. Ideas? Checked ebay and paypal. Don't have my # either.

I got calls from this number 727-541-0001...they have been calling my phone since 10-11-06 about four times a day. They call during the day. I'm a teacher and haven't been answering my phone. Finally on Friday, October 13, I called the number back. It says the number is out of service. I found this odd. They called again about 9:00 am, Sat. 10/14. I had my husband answer the phone. My husband asked who it was and all they would say is they were looking for Josh. My husband told them they had the wrong number. He said it was a hispanic speaker-male. They called again a few hours later. My husband answered the phone and told them to stop calling, a**hole!. So far, they haven't called back. We'll see....By the way I am on the do not call list. The list obviously hasn't helped me.

Lots of people have been taken by calls from 7275410001, they claim to have affiliation with American Express and Offer A free gas card however, you can hear noise in the background (Hispanic speaker & baby crying)
Ask them how they got your number and the call is dropped, indeed same scammers.

So it's me again -- I'm getting the calls again, even after telling them not to call me anymore and saying I don't have any credit cards.

Thursday night I yelled at the "lady" and told her I've already spoken to someone and filed a report with the FCC on them. And she was like "Oh, that explains it. We tend to keep calling people back when they are f***ing rude to us." and hung up in my face. And yes, they have called at least 3 times. I have added them to my phone book with a silent ringer, so at least I won't have to be awakened by them calling at the break of dawn anymore. All I notice is that I have a few missed calls, and it's them, and I shrug it off.

Question -- I've heard Amazon.com sells customer information. I'm wondering if we all have Amazon.com purchases in common ?? That's really the only place I've used my cell phone number with that credit card. Even my card issuer doesn't have my cell phone number. So it has to be somehow related to Amazon.com I would think. Anyone ?

2006-09-02 13:36:07 UTCLinda

How many times do you have to say 'take my number off your list'. They need to speak with my husband regarding his discover card. All BS! Last time they called, they asked for him. I asked who was calling. They just continued to ask for him refusing to tell me who they were. Finally, the woman said are you his wife and I said what company are you calling from and she said is this his wife and I asked if she was with Discover. She said rather frustrated, "you know what ma'am, never mind" and hung up. I hate to have to play the game but I can be as big a pain in the ass as them. Haven't had a call in 3 days since.

2006-08-31 22:30:10 UTCMG

They hang up in my face. So far around 9 calls total. Signing up on the DNC list as I write this. I live in Puerto Rico.

You'd think that after 100 or so calls to the same number they'd quit wasting their time. Like on call 101 I'm going to answer and suddenly be willing to get scammed? Jeesus, not only are they stupid, but I think they're out to punish people who don't fall for it.

Is there any way to stop these bastards, they have been calling me 2-3 times a day for the past month. I've gotten four calls from this number in the past 20 hours. I haven't answered any of them and after the 4th call, I Googled the number. I wasn't really very surprised to see that it's related to a scam.

2006-08-23 21:05:14 UTCEd

My calls started yesterday at 9:30am. Finally, I was so ticked off that I answered today. "Can I speak to Ed?" "Who's calling?" "Jason." I said "Who?" And he's acting like it's a friend of mine saying "Hey, it's Jason!!" and I'm like "Who are you??" "Um, I'm Jason.. calling for Ed?" I said "But I don't know you!!" he's like "Oh... well I'm jason calling on behalf of your Visa account." And I'm like "I don't have a Visa card" (an obvious lie.) He's like "Well, your Debit Visa card." I said again.. "I don't have any Visa cards... debit or otherwise." and he's like "You don't have a Visa card ending in ****?" And I'm like "Nope!! And do not call me again!!" So I went thru my cards, found out the card that had those digits, called the issuer, and when verifying my phone number with them... learned I had never updated my new number with them!!! So even if it was my issuer trying to call me, they would not have been able to contact me cuz they had the wrong number!!! So somehow the scammer got my new number, and the last 4 digits. I filed a report with the fraud division of my issuer, and had my account number frozen, and reissued a new number. Stupid scammers!! Who do they think they are dealing with here?!?!

Then I started ignoring them from then on, they've been calling twice a day - am and pm, finally on the 21st, I answered and asked them to take me off their do not call list... they've called me 3 more times since.. one being later that evening! today was way earlier (7a) and way later (9p) than usual. This number if from a cc fraud operation. Beware!

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker (click pictures below for price and reviews).
