Who Called Us

this number has called 3 times didn't leave any messages, didn't bother calling back the number but if they call back again, I'm gonna make sure that they will never forget the day they speak to me. I'm sick and tired of getting anonyumous/unidentified calls.

They were foreign and said that they wanted to "customize my account" to make sure I'm the only one using my card. They only had the last 2 digits of my card and asked if I received the card and had used the card. I told them that if they were really my credit card company, they'd know if I used the card. She said thank you and hung up.

They have called frequently for the last couple of days asking for my husband or my son. Tonight my husband talked to them and they said they were with Chase Credit Card Services and wanted to give us this great credit card interest rate. But my husband hung up on them when they wanted to put the money directly into our checking account.

of worthy mention for others -- have ongoing breaking/entering problem, and many of these calls from complaint numbers. Any computer can have copy of phone disconnected message/private telemarketer recording, to pretend genuine=ness when you call back. New scam of "infinity device" which burglars use - call is made to victim to assure burglar youre not home, digital tone turns on landline mic area despite phone being hung up, to listen for room noises - can work without a single audible ring, or just one ring - also works on cellphones despite being SHUT OFF, thwart=remove cell battery when not using. Precaution = pull phone cords from pc's and phones when youre not home. I suspect infinity device can also trigger pc's built-in mic for same room-listening purpose. Calls at work? This shows them, youre not home.

Got a call from these losers. Wasn't home. Did not leave message. Looks like their a bunch of crooks. Also got a call from TEST which is 1-555-555-5555 the next day. The two may be related.

Called me today and asked my Mother-in-Law is she had access to my credit card.

This company called and said that they were from Profolio Mortgage out of Texas. They claimed they were to assist with helping persons to receive a mortgage. I asked for referrals and here they are:

caller claimed to be linked with the credit card companies and wanted to send me $200 in free gas cards for being a great customer! He wanted to send me the package but it would cost me 3.95 for shipping. They wanted to verify my credit card numbers to be sure they were sending the rewards to the correct person. Keep fishing for personal info and wanted me to give him my credit card number and expiration date. I hung up and then the "manager" called back and tried to get the same info. My husband told them not to call back.

It was a spoofed call. Do not give them any information

Woman wanting to send me a $50.00 gas certificate for being a good customer of Visa, Master or American Express. She wanted the ID # of one of my cards so they could veify that I was in good standing and an expiration date. I told her I was not giving out that info to anyone over the phone and hung up. They called back 2 times and I did not answer.

Claimed they were a credit card Co. and I had on e of their cards. They knew my name and former address. Claimed they would send me a $50 gas card then asked for my credit card number. I asked which card and they said it didn't matter. I refused to give them a credit card number. The person a an accent (Meddle Eastern Type) and could not understand a lot of what I said until I got mad and yelled at him. He hung up and called back about 30 minutes later. I called the number back and got a recording stating that this is a bogus call and not to give them any info.

These creeps call every day. They use different numbers, but always leave the exact same message on my machine. That's how I know it's the same people. It's a woman with an Indian accent...she says "Hello, we are trying to reach you today. It's important you return our call. Our toll free number is 866-265-7685." They also use the number 201-210-3618, but it shows up on caller ID as unavailable. The 703-547-6545 number does show up as TATA COMM on my caller ID.

If you call this number back, you'll get a rather long message saying that VSNL is NOT making this call, do NOT give them any information, and that they think their number is being spoofed to caller ID.

I have recieved many calls from this # he says his name is Jason and he works for sprint wireless. When I told him that I am not interested in changing my phone plan he said "I can put the phone under your child's name just give me the child's SS# and you will recieve the new phone in 3 days. I told him that he is crazy, and I hung up. I called sprint they do not know who this man is and it is definitely fraud and to make a police report.

From comments, it would appear that the number reported by Caller ID (703-547-6545) is NOT the number that the calls are coming from; that is, the Caller ID information has been spoofed. As for the Caller ID name reading "FRAUDULENT OFFE" and the recording heard if you call the number, their use of this number for the Caller ID information has not gone unnoticed by the number's owner. It appears that any calls from this number can be assumed to be fraudulent in nature and should be ignored.

They called wanting personal info. Harassed my wife and when I called back it said this was a fraud and do not give out any personal information

Foreign guy asked for me by name and said he is calling about health insurance before I hung up on him.

Called and asked to speak to lady of the house and then said I had a pretty smile. scary so I hung up.

Actually, VSNL is one of India's biggest telecoms (ISP and LD) providers. According to Wikipedia, Tata Communications owns a controlling stake in VSNL (the Indian Govt has a minority stake). It's probably a boiler-room operation somewhere in India using VSNL's VoIP or LD service, hence the caller ID names VSNL and TATA COMM.

Phone stopped ringing before we answered. Caller ID said TATA COMM; the number is 703-547-6545. Checked out the number online and found all these complaints. Obviously, they haven't been able to track these guys down, yet. We won't be answering any calls from this number.

Called office line and stated they were updating information for search engine advertising. Stated the service was free. The man calling skirted all of my direct questions he just kept telling me the service was free. While I was asking questions, I was searching the number that he called from on the web. When I would not verify the information by saying yes or no, he kept asking me not to interupt him. When I told him that I had done a quick search on the internet of the phone number, he hung up...hopefully they will not call again.

My husband's ex-wife received a call, asking for me. Unsure of what the caller ID said. When I dial the call back number, a recording says that VSNL did not call and do not give out any personal info to anyone calling from that number. Odd?

Asked what I was using for my television service. When I told him I was on the DNC registery and would report him to the Attorney General he said "no speak English"

They keep calling asking for someone who does not live here. I have asked to be removed from the list 8 times and continue to get calls for this person. Calls come early and wake sleeping infant.

This company called me asking me about my credit history and they started saying things that was on my credit, then the guy asked if that was right, so I told him that "I don't know, you called me about my credit history, why don't you tell me?" He said, "well it looks like you have this and that on your credit history, is that right?" Again, I said to him, "I don't know, you tell me." He then told me that I don't deserve their program and I told him I didn't want it and hung up. I called the # back (703-547-6545) and they the # is disconnect. SOUNDS FISHY!! I am reporting them to the government, one of the perks of being in the military. SO VSNL AMERICA, U R GOING DOWN!!!

This # called my place of employment, so I have to answer the phone. It is a foreign guy asking for my boss. He has called before and everytime I tell him my boss is not available, he says oh no message and hangs up. My husband said I should answer the phone Federal Bureau of Investigations next time I see the # on the caller ID. LMAO that would be funny. Now I just have to wait for him to call back!

That caller ID name - first thing I think of is that this is a fraudulent offer. Missed the call and they left no message, but there line gets a message that all lines are temporarily busy

1-703-547-6545 and Fraudulent Offe was on the caller id. They left a message with a partial phone number of 523-1276 and a reference number I couldn't understand.

They called twice tonight, a few hours apart. As soon as I saw the VSNL America on the caller ID, I figured they were selling something I did not want, and did not answer. From reading these posts, guess I was right.

They called my home phone suggesting that I sign up for Dish Network. When I got to work, the same number had called my company cell phone....

While checking my caller ID I have found this number numerous times. A message is never left. After reading other comments, I certainly WILL NOT answer any calls from this number.

This company has been calling every hour today ,never leaves a message,Getting annoying as I work noghts and having phone ring all day wakes me up(have to have phone on as elderly parent my need to reach me).Total of 4 calls today.How can we stop this.Anyway way of Blocking or Trapping the caller that will make the lineand number they are using not work anymore???

This is a Global Scam! They test the line first, by calling (555)555-5555, which is an illegal number to call. Then they turn the test call, which is to see if they can get through on your residence, business, or cellphone. The point is your phone number is then harvested, and sold overseas. Do not respond to them. Block them, if at all possible, and report them to your state attorney general`s office. This is a massive scam!!!!!

Called at 9pm, I didn't pick up. Then they called again less than a minute later and I didn't pick up either.

First they called this afternoon and did not leave message. Then number called again and asian woman asked for me by first name and asked if I was the mortgage holder. I responeded I was not, then asked who was, very suspicious. I did not answer anymore questions and politely got off the phone. Do not answer anything these people request? I am also on DNC list. Why doesn't this big company figure out who it is and involve the authorities and/or report this info to the news media to get out to the general public? Some BS I tell you and if they call you tell them it's "Nunya Damn Business and FO!"

Individual with a foreign accent called 9/10; identified himself as "Sam Anderson"; I disconnected the call.

Asked for Head of household, did not give this information, then they disconnected. 10 mins. later received call from 555-555-5555 no one said anything call disconnected.

This a Global Satellite Communications Company and they are claiming that scammers are hijacking their phone number. Doesn't sound like a good marketing campaign.

Received several calls over the past few days. They left no message. Caller ID said Fraudulent Offe. Today when I answered, an Indian-sounding man offered me a lower mortgage rate and asked if my mortgage rate was over 5%. I told him I was on the DNC list and that he should not call me again.

They called twice. Once at about a quarter to 12 (noon) and again at 7:10 p.m. I wasn't home either time and they left no message. I am on the California do not call list and the Federal list. And I don't have, never had, nor haver inquired about satellite television so there is no reason for them to call me.

One call yesterday afternoon ( about 15:00 EST). Another this morning (11:28EST). They're calling me at my office, during the working day.

Called saying "survey" for Dish Network, asked about my television provider. Told him antenna. Told me about special rates, I asked what company he worked for, he said Dish Network. I asked the actual company he worked for, if it was a reseller; he replied "Dish Network Marketing Department". I asked for phone number and mailing address, because my phone number is on federal DNC list, and this call was violation of federal law, he said "Sorry to bother you" and hung up.

I'm getting several calls from this number per day. I never answer calls if I don't recognize the caller ID.

Have spoken to several people here in the past when I did answer in time. Each time asked that they remove the number and told them we are on all the Do Not Call lists. One guy said "We use our own list and I will take your number off." Huh?

I have received more than 40 calls from this number in four days. I answered the first time and they tried to get my information to give me "free grant money". If you call the number back, you get a message saying that the number is being used by scam artists and do not give out personal information.

Just called VSNL and they are saying that someone is using their number to make calls. They are trying to figure out who is making the calls.

I have Recieved 9 calls on 5/14, 5 calls on 5/15 and 7 calls so far today,. all on my unlisted cell phone.

Call coming for 2 weeks plus from this #. Asking for personal info and promising $5-25000.00 and deducting from a bank account $300.00 before receiving money. I told them they were commiting fraud and they insisted that they are a federal grant company and using a toll free # out of New York to call.

Received 11 calls from this # and everytime I tell a Gary or William on the phone to stop callin me, that I'm not interesed in a grant and when I called the # back it states fraud.

Called an hour apart. No messages. Been getting calls from this number the past week.

Claimed they were doing a survey regarding Dish Network and television service. He got out the first question, "Who was my television provider?" before I hung up. I guess being on both the National DNC and PA DNC list mean nothing.
