I'm in England and got (for the 4th time in about 10 days) almost exactly the same call (American accent) that George described except: (1) the number was not divulged and (2) when I said "No way I'm giving my credit card number to an unsolicited caller - I don't want to waste your time, but I'm really suspicious of this whole thing - can you please remove me from your list" the guy was quite polite. He told me I needed to get my phone company to put me on the 'international do not call register' but of course that's not how it works - he insisted 'somehow you just need to get onto that register'. I asked him for his boss's phone number but he wouldn't give it. I thanked him for the advice and he hung up. At least it was a lead - but a wrong one unfortunately - Each country like USA and UK have their own national registers but there seems to be no way to opt out of international calls. I really don't know if I should hate the callers - they are surely just doing a job to support their family. But on the other hand I'm disabled and it can sometimes be difficult for me to get to the phone so it is very annoying, especially when it interrupts my evenings which are very precious. Thanks for whoever provided this site - it's good to get this stuff off my chest and to know that I'm not suffering alone!
Im in England and I got this call from 04074042138 with some American auto recorded voice saying "Congratulations you have won a trip to the Caribbean" "Just press 9 to claim your prize". OK sounds good! so I pressed 9, I am told to "wait a while", so I did, Then a voice spoke asking if I had pressed 7,8,or9.. so I told him "I pressed 9", He says "WOW! you've just won our top prize congratulations", "do you use Visa or Mastercard credit cards", I said "visa" he said "OK go grab your card right now", I said "I do not give out my credit card details over the phone"........He hung up!. What fool would give their credit card details anyway!
I have been on this cruise in 2005 to Nassau it takes just a few hours overnight from Fort Lauderdale and includes a buffet meal and a cheap show there is a casino of course! open after the 3 mile exclusion zone from the US. The trip costs $99.00 per person for port charges and it sails every Mon,Wed,Fri each week from Fort Lauderdale. DONT GET SCAMMED!!! Anyone can buy this trip.
Hi, I'm from Belgium and just got called. I did not press 9 but just hooked up again. I'm going to press charges at the police.
In Canberra, Australia:Twice a week I receive the recorded call, American voice, "Congratulations you have won a trip to the Caribbean" - usually at 1.00pm on Fridays, and 7pm weekdays - I think they have access to our phone records that show when we are home and make most of our landline calls.
Hitting me in England, same jibe, but noticably foreign accent ;-)
robot called, asked to press 9, i did so just to tell them to take me off their call list. she said my number, put me on hold and my phone began ringing random numbers. i hung up. rang telstra to complain and track.
they called at approxiemntly 7:45pm
I didn't answer today but i've answered the call once before they said that i had filled out a ballot at walmart and that I had won a carribean cruise then it continued to ask me to press 9 and I hung up.
These guys are annoying! Wish they would give up or if I could forward it to a fax line number, I would link it to make sure they hear a fax line! ARGHHH!
same old "won a trip" scam
Somebody get them to stop calling me! I am placing a complaint with WI and the US Do Not Call lists for this violation. GRRR
those scammers called me after 9:30pm!!!
Yes...they are a company out to scam people...I am in Canada, and this is the second time this week I received the phone call! The first time the number came up as: 0-000-000-0000 and today it came up as posted by you all. I did a reverse look up, and it is in Nevada, but whenever you try to call it back, it says that the customer is not taking calls at this time! Too bad we couldn't have the same thing programmed into our phones when they call!! What an annoyance this is!!!
These idiots phoned at 10 pm which is illegal here in Canada. They woke me up!
I hadn't heard from the jokers for more than a month, so I thought that I was finally rid of them. Well, they've started to phone again with the same "free cruise" baloney as before.
Had a call from this number April 2, 2008; caller ID identified it as number from NV and as I live in BC and have family there, I called back wondering who it was. Can never reach anyone as message comes on to say person is unavailable this time, call again later. No chance to leave voice mail.
they keep calling over and over again. SCAM
I get repeated calls from this number at all times of the day.
This number calls at least once a week i want it to stop
WHO CALLED ME!
vacation promotion. trip to the carabean
It just said "Nevada" - I didn't pick up and no one (no thing) left a message. Just as well . . .
recording said I won a carribean cruise, to claim my prize, press 9, so I did and some lady asked me 3 questions one of them being my credit card info... ha ha ha I can't believe they really thought I was that dumb.
Automated machine saying I won a Caribbean vacation and to press 9 to get it. I pressed 9 so I could tell them to remove me from their calling list. I can't believe these people! The person told me that it would take 2 weeks to get removed. I said no way, remove me right away and she started to get really rude. Told me it takes 2 weeks and that she would be calling me everyday just to harass me and then she began to laugh. If anyone gets the name of the telemarketers please make a note and post it here. I wouldn't mind sending them my own promotional gift!
big heavy sigh. don't know what they wanted because i no longer answer my phone, nor do i allow access to my answering machine.
i hate telemarketers...get a real job
the call said we had won a cruise. I click the number 9 as it said to. To the woman who answered I requested that our number be removed from their list.....I was immediately hung up on!!! I tried calling the num. back, only got a message that num. couldn't receive calls.
Company says Congratualations, you have won a cruize to the Carribean. After questioning I find out that the cruise is not free, it is at a discounted price, and the cruise leaves from Florida.. Only problem is, you have to get there yourself. Upon checking the cruise prices, I find that this cruise is not even discounted. Cruises from Florida to the Caribean are cheap. Nice scam.
Do not give any information to these people: Just hang up.
Ne divulguez absoluement aucune information a ces personnes: raccrochez tout sinplement.
i don't answer calls i don't know the number to...and i think i did the right thing, cause from what i have read here, it's all a big scam!!!! We have to watch out for ourselves!!!!!
This is a telemarketing company who gives you a free cruise BUT YOU HAVE TO GET TO FLORIDA, then wants 60 bucks paid in advance before you get the free ticket, (TAXES AND FEES NOT INCLUDED)
Supposedly I won a Caribbean cruise ... if I just press 9. No other options available.
I recieved this call the other day, March 1st @10:37am. Just from the first few words of the recorded message I knew it was the same garbage that was being used by a different number a few weeks back. My parents who live in the 450 area code have also recieved this annoying phone call about 3 times now.
Same spiel as everyone else: a free Caribbean cruise. I'd say that it's time to contact Phonebusters (1-888-495-8501 or phonebusters.com).

Robot telemarketing call, illegal in Canada
This number just called my house. I pressed 9. A woman answered and I said "Please take me off this calling list" and she said, in a very rude voice and annoying accent, "Do you NOT want to help the children M'am?". I said "Excuse me? wow, you are a pushy B****" and she started laughing very loudly and talking to someone in the background before hanging up.
4:22pm Wednesday February 13th, a pre-recorded woman's voice saying "...your free cruise to the Caribbean, to claim your prize simply press 9, that's the 9 key, press it now." It was cut off at the start because my answering machine picked it up and the pre-recorded message started automatically. I haven't entered any draws, this sounds like a scam to me, probably something like "It's all inclusive, you just pay the tax and send us a cheque for $300" or something like that. Stupid scammers, go f yourselves.
One of these random numbers that keeps showing up on the call display and not leaving a message, seem to be a different state/province calling every hour.
scam
Stupid atomated machine tellin me i won something and for me to press 9 like im gonna be stupid and do that people really need to get a real fucking life and a real job !!!
Recorded message "You have one a Carribean Cruise! To accept this prize press '9' now."
Calling back gets to a mailbox that hasn't been set up yet.
Robot saying "congratulations, you have won a cruise!" They said they removed me from their list twice, weeks ago.
