Who Called Us

It's some shoddy scam place. There was a lot of bullshit commotion in the back the lady totally got my name wrong and then I think she asked for my credit card info. I said "Hey you have to speak up, I can't hear you" And she responded "Okay thanks" And hung up.

People are so full of fail.

Rec'd call from 678-969-9599 this AM, after answering, no answer. Glad I googled as all these negative reports were listed. I kind of figured it was a scam call, getting more and more of these calls lately even after registering on the "no call list"...the one that really bothered me was when they said they were coming to the house to deliver the ton of money I mysteriously won...I contacted the police and they were very familiar with this step and said many times people actually wait all day for the delivery of their winnings....I was more concerned that someone was going to rob the house or something. Noone came, but it made me nervous. Yesterday a woman called from a Jamaican number with the "Congratulations, you have won a billion dollars" and how do you feel right now? I said....I will feel really good after I call the police about this scam phone call and she says "this is not a scam".....I then hung up...that was yesterday. They don't seem to be intimidated with calls to the police or anything. Even the police say they are hard to catch....I also receive letters with the announcement of winnings without entering contests and I give all of these to the police, some from Europe, Canada, Bahamas.....it seems to be a big business.....I think all we can do is inform the public and especially the elderly which seem to be targeted as they seem more trusting. Well, that's my story....thanks for all the comments and I hope all these scam artists get what they deserved.......jail time.

I know when this group is active as I get calls from people cussing me out - my phone number is very similar to their customer service #. Nasty messages left on my voice mail for my kids to hear. Their customer service is 770 409 9521.

Just had a missed call from this number on my cell phone while I was at work. I saw that they didn't leave a voicemail, and I didn't recognize the number, so I came online to see what I could find out...and here I am. And yes, I too have recently registered with David's Bridal :(

I got married 2yrs ago and went through David's Bridal for my dress, ever since then I've been getting calls from this number and one other at least 3 times a week.. I've asked not to be called, threatened them with the police, and was put on a "do not call" listing, and still get these calls. They all say the same thing, something about magazines and a vacation prize..

I got a call from this number but they told me I had entered the "dream come true" sweepstakes. I was told pretty much the same thing that has been said to everyone else about winning money, a 35mm camera with a years worth of film and 4 different magazine subscriptions, for which I'd only pay for one. The lady did mention something about 82.11 for 12 months then no more payments for the next 48 months. Did not give them any personal imformation and reading the other comments on this site, Im glad I didnt. Now that I know its a scam, I will be waiting on my next phone call from them.

I get these calls ever since I signed up for some things at a Bridal Expo. I just tell them that I'm recording the call and will contact the police if they charge me for anything. That usually makes it stop.

I get a call from this number at least once a week, but I never answer. A voicemail has never been left. I am also registered with David's Bridal and seeing how several other people below have had the same issues I would not be surprised if that is the source. I also wouldn't be surprised if I still receive these calls even after I am married and no longer have any interaction with David's Bridal. I am also on the "Do not call" list and that obviously is not working. I'd sure like to know where these people are getting the funding to pay for all these ridiculous and harrassing phone calls.....probably a portion of the sales davids bridal made from the dress I bought :(

jus got a call from these people. telling me i was put in a sweepstakes through a "magazine". asked me if i was over 21 and under 75. i laughed at them and hung up. wtf? so random!

They call every day, no message. We have caller id and never answer these calls. We are on the "do not call" list also.

I have been getting calls from this number daily for some time now. Today I finally dialed the number to see what I could find out. I got a recording directing me to call "customer service" at 770-409-9521. I called that number and the answering person said, "Customer service?". I told that person that I wanted to be removed from their calling list. I gave her my cell phone number. She said I would not be receiving any more calls from them. We'll see. If I get another call, I'll report back here. My cell number is also on the "Do Not Call" list, so I'm thinking maybe we should report them to the FCC. I'm checking that out now.

It seems to me this 'do not call list' is NOT what it used to be.

The caller was male of foreign descent. Very thick accent India/Arabic, not sure but not Latin/Hispanic. He sai, "Good morning. I'm with Winners Publishers Sweepstakes." When I asked what this was about, since I have entered no contest nor sweepstakes, the caller stated, "Oh, you didn't even know how you are. Gotta go. Bye." Then he hung up. I usually do not answer such calls. After 911, I trust no one.

According from what I, this number calls women. So I figure, its some scam because if I not mistaken, we're probably getting married some time soon. We're their perfect targets. I ignored numerous calls I have gotten, but I started getting these wierd calls since signing up at Davids Bridal.

I have also recently been to David's Bridal. I wish somebody told me when I got engaged to not give them any of my actual information. I have tried removing my info from their database, and no luck. What jerks.

They've been calling me for a few weeks now.
I'm pretty sure they got my number from Davids Bridal somehow.
I had a brand new number that I hadn't given out to anyone except the people at Davids Bridal. After that, 3 other companies called me (a florist, photographer, Men's Warehouse) because they have some connection to Davids Bridal and these scammers started calling me.

Im thinking that these scammers got my number from Davids Bridal. I've also read other posts about people giving their number to Davids Bridal, then began recieving calls from this number.

I received a call from this number, I called it back and nobody answered, but a voice mail came up with "You reached Warners' Choice Publishing". I googled that company and they don't exist. I believe is a scam.

I just got a call from this number at work. All I heard the woman say is that my name had been entered into a sweepstakes...I cut her off there and said I wasn't interested and hung up. I don't even know if she mentioned my name. Sounds suspicious.

They've been calling me everyday! I don't answer and they don't leave a msg. When I answer, they say they are calling long distance and want to know if I can hear them. I asked to be removed from their list yesterday.

I do not answer calls from numbers I do not recognize. There was another number (what it was escapes me at this time) where I called back and it asked if I wanted to opt out. I took that path as they called my cell phone AND the number was registered a couple weeks ago with the FTC's DNC. I will be counting the days to when they need to remove me. I will answer then and let them know that they are calling a cell phone registered with the FTC. This is ridiculous!

I'm so sick of this shit, I kept getting calls from a 425 number for weeks and I never picked up and they never left voicemails. One day last week I picked up and it was this same stupid scam, and I told the woman (who kept congratulating me every other sentence) that I wasn't interested in the Cosmo subscription, nor the $25k or the 24 karat gold diamond ladies' or mens' watch and she hung up. Now I'm getting calls from these idiots on my cell as well.

This number called me but did not answer it because I did not recognize the number. By the looks of the comments left so far it looks to be a scam.

Individual identified himself as David North. Stated that I had won a sweepstake from and verified name and address which he already had and stated that someone would be contacting me a claim number. Received call from Jeanna and requested credit card information for a renewal of a magazine subscription. When I refused to give infomation they hung up.

I got a call from the same number twice.....no one said anything...when i tried to call back it said we are not available n shytt like that...i juss hung up??? am worried if these guys are juss tryin to steal identity based on fone numbers...they might juss be trying to see how many numbers they call randomly are working and then may be do something??? any idea if identity theft is possible if u knw someone's fone number???

i just spoke with the posted customer service line, they seem like very nice people, i guess its a sales call trying to sell magazine subscriptions, i simply told them i don't have any moey, and they removed me from the list. no big deal, just call the 17704099521 customer service line, and all will be cleared.

People this is a fraud company. Winner's Choice Publications... look them up on google. There is nothing good said about them. They have other numbers to other offices. Make yourself aware today. Three rules to use. 1) Never give any information about yourself or others to any phone callers. 2) Never press any codes or buttons on your phone if you do not know the people to be family or friends but don't do it then either. 3) Ask the name and origin or location of the company as well as how long they have been around and a call back number then look them up on google. Also on point three if they can not do this it is a scam and you should hang up.

If you're on the National Do Not Call Registry (donotcall.gov), you can file a complaint against this company. It only takes about 30 seconds, and they will eventually get fined for what they're doing.

Got a call and some lady tried getting me to buy all these magazines, offered me a bunch of prizes. Used to call me easily three times a week on my personal cell phone. Now its maybe once a week. Its a bunch of BS. Waste my minutes on these idiots. Never had them call, ask for name, then hang up though. Will be expecting it now. There are three or four other numbers that call also, saying I won trips to places. How do they get our numbers? I have NEVER given my number to anyone that doesn't need it, nor entered it on the internet.

They call on my house phone about once a week. The caller ID says "C P W." Nobody ever is lon the line when the phone is answered.

To get off their idiotic calling list, call 770-409-9521 and raise hell. If it is a cell phone of yours that they are calling, do NOT erase the call history. You can sue them. It is unlawful and unethical to telemarket on one's own, private cellular phone.

Called my cell, knew my name!!, I did not verify my name but tried just to find out who he was, he said something like "Blah Blah Publishers in Atlanta", I've forotton the name he used, than the line went dead.

Got a call, "Is this Samantha" .. Yes, I said. "Your name was drawn this morning as a $100,000 finalist"
I asked "What sweepstakes is this?" She mentioned the "winner's choice" and that she was calling from Atlanta, GA. I asked "When did I enter?" She said "I'll get eveything to you in writing and then you can read it," and then hung up on me!

I get calls from this number EVERY day almost...for the past 3-4 months. NEVER have I had someone actually speak until today, they asked for someone that doesn't have this number anymore.

I recieve calls from this number for the past two weeks with the same messages, Mark&Tonya, recieved with the exact same offers and on today 4/20/07 someone finally spoke to me. Paul Smith,Senior Awards Director, whom had his supervisor call me back a female by the name of Bobbie Hartman, about the same sweepstakes offers and me winning $100,000.00 and they would be sending me over $600.00 worth of gifts and they needed my visa number I told them to call me back I'm at work and thats when I looked them up I am tired of scammers they hurt the lively hood of others

If someone calls you to verify your name, it's for telemarketing companies. They have another company call you at different times during the day to see if you answer, so they can actually verify what times of the day you are home, so they can call back and you will be there. IT'S A SCAM

I called back and the voicemail gave me a customer service number 770-4069-9521. The name of the company is Winners Choice Publishers. Told them to remove me from their calling list.

I called the 770-409-9521 number to be taken off this list. We'll see if it works. They have called numerous times since last week and I was able to call back the 678 number once, but now cannot do so. They told me 'we do check all the do not call lists' but that's a crock.

Finally talked with someone from this company after getting an unknown number of calls from them. Today alone there was at least 5 calls. All they want is you money. Buy a magazine subscription for $3.79 a week for 5 years and you might be a winner of a trip or a BMW, HA HA. I told them no way that I would pay $909.60 for a magazine. Also told them to take me off of their list, since my number is unlisted. Will have to wait and see.

I have a cingular phone not Sprint. I answered because I always get calls from phone numbers I don't know. I heard some guys talking and one was cursing. After awhile they hung up, and I've been trying to call back.

I recieved a call this morning from a man saying he was with a publishung sweepstakes and that I was in the drawing for over 100,000 dollars in cash and prizes. I played along with him until he ask for my visa card number then I ask him if he had a credit card and if he would give me his card number, that is when he hung up on me.

Someone called saying my name was pulled in a drawing for a great some of money. He said that he was from Atlanta georgia for some publishing company. Wanted me to take a survey and asked my age. I told him that I wasn't comfortable giving my personal info. He said he didn't see what the big deal was about giving my age. He asked me if I lived at a certain address . It was a former address but not current. When I wouldn't give him my information, he got rude, said a few things and hung up. I dont know what kind of information this number has on me.

I got rid of my home phone, that was on the do not call list, but this number has called my cell phone twice. I have not answered it, since I don't know the number and don't want to waste my minutes on some schmuck trying to sell me crap.

Received a call from them today, they said that I won over $100,000 in cash and prizes. All I had to do was "support" a magazine at $3.79 a week for 60 some odd weeks. Said I'd receive a second call for verification. I received the second call. They wanted my Visa/MC or Disc card and I said I don't have one. Then they wanted my checking account info and when I said "not over the phone" she hung up without a word. That told me that something was wrong. So I looked the number up on the web adn found all kinds of info.

At Patuxent River Naval Air Station, received call 3 Jan. 2007 @ 12:24 pm. Did not answer phone due to unknown.

We get about two calls every day from this number. We are on the "do not call list" but still they call. Yes it's a scam. Once, some time ago, I actually answered the call - had to wait a little while until someone decided to speak to me. They said I'd won all these things cos I's entered a contest in a mall (they didn't know which mall of course!) and I'd receive all these prizes but I had to take out a subscription on a magazine first. I told them was not interested but still they keep calling. You have to ring 770-409-9521 to get taken off the call list.

Got a call from a lady who said she was in georgia with some awards center. She asked my age and if i still had any of my three credit cards. I wasn't enthusiastic at all and she quickly said that it wasn't a joke and that I would be receiving info in the mail, and hung up on me.
