How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
- Block them with a call blocker:

This phone number is probably spoofed - Caller ID is not the real caller. You can find out from NEXTEL if they own the phone number. If NEXTEL doesn't, then Caller ID was spoofed.
If you received a spoofed Caller ID, report it to the Chicago FBI. They have a team trying to find the culprits. Earlier scammers used phone numbers from Oregon. They may have moved to California. I suspect scammers use lists from foreclosed properties, bank records (big TARP banks), and real estate transactions that contain old, inactive phone numbers.
FORGET THE DO NOT CALL LIST. As usual, the goverment is partially responsible for fake ID problem, and years behind the crooks. There should be NO WAY for Caller ID to be spoofed with current mobile phone technology.
Why do scammers get away with fake ID? Maybe the same people allowing fake ID don't want voter ID?

This is everyday i get a call from this number, i have to stop taking care of my sick husband to answer a call where no one says anything. i sure wish they would do something about all the damn scammers out there.
They keep calling and it's just a recording stating to push 1 to lower your credit card rate. I called the number and it says no one is available to answer your call right now. one more call and I'm going to file a complaint.
