I get repeated calls, no messages left. I am in Canada and I am sure this breaks some kind of law somewhere...

Some religious right-wing wacko group calling themselves the Dove Foundation. Typical religious fanatics trying to brainwash you into believing them same nonsense that they do.

I get this call (Dove Foundation (616) 361-2855) all the time along w/ Feature Films for Families (317) 634-8133 number as well..I believe they are connected some how.

On April 19 I answered the phone from and a woman named Tammy asked me for "the lady of the house." I hung up on her. I have this number at least once a week, usually 2-3 times a week for the past 6 months.

They have called several times in the last week or two - very annoying - I have an unlisted number - how can this happen? I need my sleep since I work nights

This is what you do. When you see that it's them calling on your caller id, pick up the phone, hold the phone up to your stereo speakers, or something similar. Turn it on to the top volume and let it blast their ears out. Hopefully they'll go deaf.

Called at 7:58 am this morning. Answered they wouldn't say anything. I have had many phone calls from them. They don't leave a message.

keep calling asking for a deceased family member, asked them to please stop, and they keep calling. Do everyone a favor and go to donotcall.gov (provided you're registered) and file a complaint.

If you answer and they talk, tell them you don't believe in ANY of that Christian bullcrap and such.. that should shock them.

Or, hop on a plane to Grand Rapids and go visit them in person, do a WHOIS lookup on dove.org to find their address.

To file an official complaint, you must trace the phone call 2 times, then report it to your local law enforcement agency (according to Verizon). Then, hire a lawyer to sue them.

Seems there are enough people here complaining about these f**ktards that we could do a class action suit.

Answering machine picked up the call with the standard "please leave your name and number..." message - female caller stated, "hello, this is cami, may I speak to (spouse's first name)" apparently oblivious to the fact that she was talking to an answering machine. Glad I did - I think what their goal is - is absoultely wonderful. Not many wholesome movies out there. I do not agree with harassing people though to get donations. After looking at this site, I realize I've rec'd calls from this company before and told them at that time that I was on the "Do not call list".
This time when she called, I said they were calling a business line. That threw her off and she didn't know what to say and she hung up.

They keep calling and I keep hanging up. I'm registered on the federal do-not-call list but apparently they don't think rules apply to them. This last time, after Robo-Cammie asked for the "lady of the house," I said "speaking," then listened briefly to a lie about how it's not a solicitation, something about children's advocacy, yadda yadda. I looked online, found that they are a fundie nutjob group (shocker), and reported them. i also called and asked to be removed from their list & let them know they are in violation of the Federal do-not-call law and that I reported them. If they keep it up, next step is to contact my state's atty general office (FL).

If you want a little fun with all these unwanted groups calling, simply do what I do.
Activist 101/ Lesson 1:
Take the phone number of lets say "Dial America" 201-373-8326 and go online to another groups site like the Dove Foundation.
Locate the form where they ask you to fill out your contact info and fill it out with the other grps phone number/address but a fake name. This works best if you have an actual persons name--creates a better payback. You may not see the satisfaction--but you are wasting the
companies time and operators time and TIME is money. Do this to any unwanted callers number--give the number to anyone and any form the ask for phone numbers. If you file their phone number with a lot of different phone bank groups they get caught in their own cycle.
Once the phone number is in any calling grps system it pretty much stays there and is used again again.

To help stop a collection agency from contacting and harassing you: Visit the Attorney Generals (for your state) and the FTC's (Federal Trade Commission) websites. You will find the laws that apply to how to handle the situation based on your state and how to file a complaint. Also, to be removed from their database you must send a letter to them stating to remove your phone numbers. Finally, file complaints with the BBB where the collection agency is located (home office too) and your local BBB and local law enforcement if, they become threatening and break other laws - usually, your prosecutors office handle these type of complaints. Anyway, it is a place to start and BE PERSISTENT! afterall, they are... In closing, register your phone numbers on the do not call website - after they have been notified they no longer can contact you and you can turn them in (there is a 30 day (?) waiting period for the do not call to take affect so do it right away. Hope this helps.

Wasn't here when they called. Their # appeared on the Caller IID and they left no message. They've called twice...yesterday and today.

Dove Foundation called yesterday. Answering service kicked in. No message left. I'm on the National Do Not Call List. I think everyone should call their coporate offices 5 times a day and hang up when they answer. Maybe they will get the message then.

Caller ID says 616-361-2855, Dove Foundation. They've been calling my phone at least once a day since November 2006 and leave a pre-recorded message, something about "this is Cammi, may I please speak to the lady of the house" and after a few seconds it says it will try again later.

I got a call from Dove Foundation a few times and they never leave a message and I just see it on our caller ID. I tried calling to tell them I am on the no call list and to stop calling, but all I get is a recording every time. The called me twice yesterday about 3 hours apart.

Sure that I an automated "caller" had contacted me, but when I didn't answer a question she asked if I was on the line. When I said that she sounded like an automated call, she said she was not. Then it went back to what were clearly prerecorded questions.

Checked into the Dove Foundation which turns out to be a Conservative Christian operation (surprise). Dick Rolfe works for an evangelical Christian group. They are NOT AFFILATED WITH THE DOVE SOAP COMPANY, according to the LA Times Online. Glad we can continue to buy Dove soap!

Followup-- apparently you can email them to get off their list. They have a FAQ page about why they're calling at

and one of the questions is how to get them to stop. It says to send a message to movies@dove.org with the subject "Please add me to your do not call list".

They've been calling me for over a year. They give up for a few months and then start up again. Funny thing is now they only let it ring twice before they hang up (probably because they know the machine is coming). But I usually can't get to the phone to answer calls I *want* in two rings, so what is the point of that, exactly!? I'm happy to be in their machine taking up their time to call me. If, as you say, this is a "Chrstian organization," no legitimate Christian organization would submit to harrassment, which is what this amounts to.

We receive calls from this number 4 times a day everyday including weekends. On my caller ID displays the number 616-361-2855 Dove Foundation. It's annoying, I work 12 hours a day and these people are my alarm clock because they call as early as 7am and will continue calling and hanging up to avoid leaving a message through 9pm. I thought this was against the law, put my number on the do not call list and these donation or survey companies are still harrasing me. just last night I picked up to get a voice and a woman asked me for the woman of the house and may she ask me some questions, I blasted on her to stop calling my house. Repeated calls and never has anyone on the line.

No message left on answering machine. First time called.

Called to solicit a survey about the necessity to clean up the movie industry and the MPAA's rating system. Before giving me the survey, they asked if I agreed with them. I said no, and they terminated the call without giving the survey. No wonder their numbers show that 94% of the survey-takers agree with them.

Caller ID said Grand Rapids, MI. No message left. They have called me several times. Real pests.

called today at 8:30 am eastern time, and didn't leave a message. i've been on that telemarketing do not call list for a couple of years, and these guys still get through. when i call them back to tell them to stop, the numbeer is always busy. what should i do?

Freakish religious organization.

Left partial message on answering machine (automated calling system that is too dumb to realize an answering machine picked up). I don't have CID anymore, but these same turds are probably the same ones calling the line and hanging up. The number is used as as emergency landline only (I use cell for regular stuff), is unpublished, is registered with federal do-not-call, and in general simply isn't used.

They started calling last week. Will block the number.

They called and asked for my late wife by name. She has been dead for three years, nice to know how updateded there records are.

They keep calling me over and over and won't let up. I told them to not call again, but they do. When I see their # on my caller Id box I won't answer.

They have called us repeatedly, no messages. this number is on caller id each time. have called at all times of day. we are on the do not call list

I get 2-3 calls per day from these guys a recording. Its annoying especially at 850pm when my 3 boys are in bed.

Apparently they are consistent rude.

Woman asks for woman of the house, I said she's unavailable. Then she asks if there are children under age 16 in house so they can address this when they call back? I asked to be put on do not call list, and she said they would.

These people are breaking the law by ignoring the Do Not Call register

I let the machine pick up the call. No message was left. I called the number on the caller ID and the phone was answered but no one spoke. I hung up the phone.

Called, did'nt leave a message. I called back number from caller I.D. and asked to be removed from call list. Found out that non-profit groups are still allowed to make pre-recorded calls. These monkeys found a loophole around the "No Call List" to push thier self rightious adgenda. Why can't these people mind to thier own?

They call often, almost every night 2-3 times and leave no message. They don't give up!

I was busy unloading groceries and the phone rang and I decided to recall them so I did. When I go to call them back the line is always busy..........

I was getting calls from these religious pests for months. I found a web site that their leader's home phone number. I called him at home and the calls stopped.

This is an automated voice response system that responds to your answers. It's very good. I didn't realize it was a recording until I pressed the "0" and then the recording started repeating itself. I believe this is illegal. I asked to be put on their do not call list, but the system did not recognize my response.

called me many times over the summer. Did not leave any messages. I found out they were the 'Dove Foundation' - a right wing Christian censorship group. They called again on 9/6 - no msg. I called them back and told them it was very unprofessional to not leave a msg - and that I was on the do not call list -- so they were in violation. The guy tried to claim that they were not religious . . . .
