Call them through your phone number customer service directly or pay online. Do not give them anything. People are making them rich. It is a scam.

someone from Verizon keep calling my home everyday, but they don't leave any message. I have contact Verizon they have know record of them calling me. So I call 615-372-2999 the person answer as one of verizon fianancial company and i explain about call and they have no record.

I don't have Verizon service, But they still call my number.. Which I don't answer...

I have gotten call from this number on a Saturday night at 1:30AM. I have serious doubt that Verizon would be making collection calls or courtesy calls at that time of day. The times that I have answered these calls, the caller is difficult to understand and isn't very polished in their presentation. I always tell them that I'll directly to Verizon. I try to keep them on the line as long as possible before I tell them to go and get bent.

Oh and they DID NOT ask for any personal information.

It is Verizon. I answered. My bill in late and i had set up an arrangement which hadn't be entered into their system and they were about to shut off my phone. Told them i would be in Friday. and that was that. And the guy was perfectly nice.

This number always calls. Never leaves a message or a text. I get calls from it all the time.

Oops! I forgot to pay my bill last month! I have never forgotten to pay it in the 16 years I've been with them. It's Verizon Wireless calling wanting to know when I was going to pay my bill and why they didn't receive one yet.

I received this call which I did not answer less than a minute after I received a text message from Verizon. Yes I am past due, but that is beside the point. I called the number at the bottom of the text and talked to a LEGIT verizon employee, who said no one from verizon had called me today. And that Verizon does not call, but only sends letters and texts. She said I was correct in not giving info out over the phone. And she said they would never call one of the other lines on my bill. BIG SCAMMERS, DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFO, IF YOU OWE A BILL GO TO THE VERIZON WEBSITE, IT IS SECURE, OR DIAL #611

This number called me 7 times. 2 times asking about somone named "amanda." I don't know ANY so called "amanda." 4 times they did not respond. 1 time I asked if this was a joke and said "is this a joke? I will report yiu to the athouritys." Then they hung up

Not going to get caught in the middle of this scam. I tried calling the number back and first got that this number wasn't lagit to try again...I checked and it WAS dialed correctly. Then recalled and it went thru to a VZ "financial Services". I'm only 5 days late...not worth a phone call but will get a reminder TEXT if an oversight!! I have placed this number in my contacts as "SCAM-Verizon" so when I see it come up I won't answer it as I know I I don't need to deal with the RUDE people that have been reported on this BLOG. My kids get this call to and they are not the primary holder of the account.

OMG can't believe if this is who is calling me and left no message. I have been with Verizon for almost 2 years and usually get a TEXT if past due. Thanks "someone" for giving me info. My kids said they have been getting a number like this on their phones too but they don't deal with the payment info. I am suspisious of this too as I my identy was stolen from a customer service Rep for $2400 at SPRINT...as you can tell I'm no longer with them either.

Ok..I have it straight from Verizon customer service that this is indeed a scam. They say do not give them ANY information. Verizon customer service told me they DO NOT make these types of calls. If anything you will get a courtesy TEXT. He said if they were ever to call you about a bill it would have to be way over due, like 90 days or something crazy, and even then it would be from an 800 number and would most likely be an automated call asking you to contact them. I got this call 4 times today on my cell and on my home phone and I googled it and saw the scam comments so decided to answer the 4th time to see what they had to say. Lo and behold they insisted I give them payment information over the phone. So I hung up and called Verizon immediately which is when they informed me that this is a scam and that that is not their number nor would they call and that my account is fine. The really weird part people is that this rude lady at this number also had called my home phone and knew my bill amount! The Verizon rep I talked to could not explain this but still assured me that this communication was not from them. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps the scammer works for Verizon of knows someone who does and is feeding them information to make it sound legit so you will give them information. Very scary folks! And as far as the few who have left comments on here and other sites that claim the number is legit and they pay their bill on the phone with them all the time..here's my question..if you supposedly know the number is legit, then why are you on here googling the number and checking it out on these websites???...hmmmmm. Doesn't make much sense does it? Exactly! Don't be fooled. These are the people in on the scam. Be smart people!

I never answered, but so far they have called 3 times today and it show as "unknown". My bill is paid up. I called Verizon, and they said that no matter what number shows up when they call, it will identify them as Verizon. They offered to block the number and report it to their fraud department. I asked the guy to just call the number, but he didn't want to be bothered and said he'd report it.
Then I called the number - sounds legitimate. They have all the push button options and identify themselves as Verizon on the recording. If it was fraud, that would be a little too obvious and they would have been shut down long ago. All it would take is for the Feds to call the number. They never tried to get money from me, because it was just a call center number. I am still confused as to why they didn't leave some sort of message.

Every time I am late paying my bill, several times this year simply from forgetting, they call. But I just tell them that I will be paying online tonight when I get home from work. It IS Verizon, but I would not pay them over the phone anyway.

The CSR I spoke with explained that Verizon Financial Services uses this number and others in order to contact customers with past due accounts. If you're uncomfortable with receiving calls from, or placing calls to, this number - or if you're not convinced it's not a scam - contact Verizon at *611.

Has same area code as verizon but the connection ends there. Been with verizon over 10 years and they dont play these games late on payment or not.

Do not believe people who are saying this ISN'T a scam. It is. Let me stress that. IT IS A SCAM. After receiving several calls from this number a few months ago, which I didn't answer I looked up the number on line and found tons of warnings about it and how it's a scam. So, the next time they called I answered. It was woman, who quickly read a script and demanded I give them money. Also, please note that I AM NOT the primary on the account. I politely declined and told the woman that I wouldn't be paying her because a) the bill was already paid b) the business she was working for was nothing but a scam. She instantly lost the nice act and started screaming and cursing at me, and I just yelled over her and told her not to call back anymore. The calls stopped for a few months and started back this past week. Next time they call, they'll be getting the EXACT same treatment.

Now, let me ask you, if it were Verizon wouldn't they know my account was caught up and do you think with the kind of money and customer service training the have their representatives would start screaming and cursing at someone? Didn't think so. The prosecution rests. It's a scam. :P

I just called Verizon Wireless, because someone from this number had called my father's phone, and ASKED for my cell number. The verizon rep said there was absolutely NO reason someone from verizon would have called my father's number, as i am listed on the account as the primary holder, and they have my cell number on record, as well as my home phone number. She told me this was "fishy" and if they call back, get a full name, the name of the call center they are calling from, their extension, and ask to speak to a supervisor. If they cannot give me all of these things, and prove they are a verizon rep, hang up.
She has put a note in both my account, and my fathers that a call came from this number, which she said came out of Nashville, TN, and is not a verizon wireless number. She suspects this is some kind of scam, and has instructed us (my father or myself) to call her back if this happens again. The rep i spoke to was in the Alabama call center.

this is fraud, I am receiving calls in regards to my fiances account which is in no way shape or form connected to my account. They call and ask to speak to him and say his account is past due. I called Verizon and verified that our accounts are in no way connected because of the shared address and they also said that they only call the holder of the phone directly. Do not give them your personal information, if you want to pay your bill dial 611 on your phone, by mail, pay online, or at the verizon store. THIS IS A SCAM.

Verizon wireless will not act this way as a professional service provider. It will definitely respect its clients. We all here have divided opinion on whether calls from this number (615) 372-2999 is fake or real, as a result and without blinking my eyes, I say it is SCAM. Totally a scam. Started calling my number and now are harassing my 11 year old daughter on her phone. I dialed *611 on my phone and was told that Verizon does not have that number and that they will NOT call any number other than the primary number on the account.

Calls several times a week, but I never answered it because I don't recognize the number. The thing is people, they take the chance that out of all the people they call and harass them about their late bill, about half will actually have the unpaid balance! So they have a 50/50 chance that they will be right! Those of you justifying this scam by saying, well I did owe them money, doesn't prove anything. I am up to date on all my payments, and they call me constantly. I may answer next time and post an update.

Getting multiple calls from this number on a non-primary phone. I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize as about 4 people actually know my number. But going from the other comments, if this caller is claiming to be Verizon, I don't believe it. First, the primary phone didn't get a call, second, we don't have past due bills, and third, we were just in the store two days ago because the primary account holder got a different phone and they transferred all his stuff to the new phone. I'm sure they would have reminded us if there were any past due bills. SCAM.

They say it is Verizon, but I'm not really sure if it is or not, I answered and they told me I have a past due account....which I didnt. I told the scam artist that I would pay my bill on line threw the web site. They try to "take care of it now" for you, but don't do it! either call 611 from your phone, or pay your bill online! and after I told them I would prefer to pay my bill online they hung up on me....I wanted to ask them what there customer service number was to make sure if it was them or not, but I forgot to. That is another easy way to see if it is them or not, a scam artist probably wouldnt know the Verizon customer service number!

I just got a call like this today and it was very strange. I've been with Verizon for over 5 years and never have gotten a call like this. The guy was very very rude and said i was late with my payment (which i wasn't I paid on due date which is the 14th) and if i didn't pay my phone would be cut off within a couple of hours. I told him i paid it and he would not have it keep trying to get me to give him a my checking account number or credit card, keep telling him i paid but i would check my bank to make sure it went though (he had me believing something that went wrong and i had paid) & if it hadn't i would imediatly pay through my online banking (by the way this is what i do every month & my verizon bill it auto took out of my account each month) but he would hear of it, he was very threatening & I just told him i wasn't giving him my account info & he just hung up on me, so then i call verizon 800 # & talked to a very nice guy & he was very apologetic & didn't understand why or who that person would call b/c my account was paid for & wasn't due again til next month & he also said if they was going to cut my off my phone they would send you a text or letter telling & giving you a certain amount of time to pay before. I wouldn't trust this number at all & don't give them any info just call verizon themselves if you think there is a problem.

A lot of people on here are saying that this is a collector for Verizon, so I'm going to put my report out here...I don't trust that advice and if it IS Verizon, they need to seriously check their records. Here are my reasons:

We got this call on a NON-Primary cell and when I picked up, I heard silence. When I called back, I got a "customer service" agent with a garbled name, who refused to repeat it and cut me off when I asked for the third time "who is this?", I was way too polite by the way. He claimed to supposedly be calling from Verizon and wanted to discuss my bill, he asked me to tell him my name and phone number. This was at about 8 pm. I always get text messages every month when my bill is ready to view, pay, whatever...never a phone call. I hung up and the number called back. I went online and checked my account to see if everything was OK and it was.

I've had Verizon for about 7 years now and have never received a call like this, even when my bill was seriously past due. We are not delinquent, have not been delinquent in probably about 4 years and pay well before the due date every month (my bill is due on the 18th, I pay on the 1st). We hardly ever reach our maximum minute usage per month. The call also came into a phone that is registered in my name but "used" by my 14 year old son. He is not named as a person who can make decisions on the account and trust me, I check his phone often and he hardly uses it, so I know he's not doing anything crazy with it. I think I'm going to check it out with Verizon. If you have doubt, call Verizon...don't give your info out!!!

I got a couple of calls from this number and its not a fraud or scam. Ive talked to numerous people from this line, paid my bill and then checked out my balance on my online account and everything was posted and went through fine. Im not some person working for the scam like some people think others are... you only get this call if you are decently over due or have a high balance.... which I have and did at the time of the calls.

I've had Verizon for 3 yrs, and never had an issue with them outside of them having shitty cell phone models (voyagers esp). I've been a couple days late on the payment of my bill, and have even had a carry over balance. However, I've never gotten a phone call like this before. The woman I talked to kept insisting that I pay my bill over the phone, even though I said I'd ay iy online, that wasn't good enough.

There is no way that this is vzw. I suggest you just tell them to piss off. I'm sure the last thing anyone needs is financial fraud.

THis is verizon's collections department. they usually call me 4-5 times before my payday. My wife answered my cell phone and then handed the phone to me. the caller identified himself representing Verizon and continued to ask me how I planned to pay my bill today. An obvious script. Fuuny, I got 2 calls today. The first just 5 minutes after Verizon texting me that my new bill is available and on line. I have a couple of months left on my Verizon contract and when that ends Ill find someone else. It wont be Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile. I left Sprint to go to Verizon. I just got Sprint but couldnt speak to my wife on her new phone when she was 15 feet from me when I was at the Sprint Kiosk. My calls to spring were always disconnecting. I recorded my call to customer service and sent it to the CEO. They made an offer to settle. I paid and then they sent me to their collection company. A complaint to the FCC stopped that. My mom had T-mobile just before she died. We had so many problems with their billing issues. Its a shame they dont understand customer service. To them its $$$$$$$$$. The CEOs need to go on Undercover Boss and see what it is like in the real world vs their crystal palace, $15,000 suits, mansions, limos, G-7 airplanes, and private country clubs. I might get a throw away phone and pay for the minutes and be cheaper than what I am paying now.

Don't believe the person(s) trying to convince you it isn't a bona fide call from Verizon. It is. They are simply trying to get their money for a past due account. If you pay your bill, they won't call.

I don't answer the phone to anyone I don't know. If it is someone who knows me they should at least leave a voicemail and let me know something. If they don't well they won't get through. I customized that number in the contact list to go direct to voicemail even tho' they won't leave a voicemail which is even better.

These people are not verizon wireless, they are scammers looking for people with past due bills. THEY DO NOT ACTUALLY WORK FOR VERIZON AND ARE NOT ASSOCIATED WITH VERIZON THEY ARE SCAMMERS. Do not give them any money or talk with them, they don't actually have any information on you other than your cell phone number and maybe your name. They don't have your credit card information or anything else, don't give it to them! If you give them any money you will never cease hearing from them, they will threaten you with litigation and lawsuits and jail time etc. They will do anything they can to shake you down for more money. Simply don't answer the phone when these people call, they are not verizon!

this number keeps calling my husbands cell phone and says they need our account number. Wouldn't they already know our account number if they were with verizon? Plus they are talking with spanish accent that he can't hardly understand. They ask for my number too....they have my number if they are verizon!!!!

When I called back, the recording said, "Welcome to Verizon Financial Services". I just hung-up after that. My bill was past due a month and a half. Forgot to pay so I just went to Verizon Wireless . com and paid online. My bad. I don't think about the phone bill that often.

My husband got a call from this number and he was told that his bill was past due 421.00, and that if he could verify the Credit card on file they would take care of it, he told them he had to check with me, there is no Credit card on file and it is debited out of an account on monthly basis. This has to be some kind of scam.

I just received a call on my cell from this number and when I said hello no one spoke back. I sat on the phone for a few and kept saying hello and still nothing. Now I know not to answer from this number again!

I have been getting these calls..yes, I KNOW you will turn off my phone, I always pay it at some point before that ever happens, and this is an AWESOME way for me to justify dropping Verizon and going to another company. Ugh.

I received a call from this number and when I tried to call it back it rang twice before I got what sounded like an answering machine with the "this number has been disconnected or is no longer in service" message. You could tell that they had recorded that message and put it on their machine because you can hear background noise in the message, a fax machine and ringing phones.

These people call multiple times in a day. Our bill is paid and we are not interested in upgrading service. If they don't stop calling during my work, I will consider switching carriers.

These calls are not from Verizon. They are a contractor posing as Verizon. Next they call tell them they are being recorded and inform them their collection service fired. Only do business with Verizon. BTW: Verizon only sends text notices.

they call me 3 times a day but i am not the primary number. i am on a family share plan with my mom and sister, i have talked with them and they don't get calls like these. when i do answer i try to be as rude and waste as much time as possible. these people do not deserve to live, and why has nothing been done about this??

Any of you legal folks out there or ones that may have some retainers to blow can sue Verizon for these calls. We have seen them call people in excess of 3 times back-to-back. In most states that's considered harassment regardless of the reason.

Unless Verizon is paying your bill for you they do not have a legal right to commit a crime in order to satisfy a debt.

It's called the fair debt collection act, I guess the attorneys at verizon haven't read that one.

They won't leave a voice mail because they know what they are doing is illegal to begin with and they don't want to leave more proof behind of what they are doing.

Yup.... Verizon Collections. However, normally you would receive a text message (if you are the owner of the account) to remind of payment due or at least be from a 800# not a 615 area code. LEAVE A MESSAGE. HOW ANNOYING. Is that why voice mail was created? I plan on blocking the number. As with many people, I was a little behind, but only a couple of days, but at least they were getting something. If they want to turn me off...GOOD.... I am sick and tired of being trapped in their stupid game, only opens the door to switch cell phone companies. Isn't like their turning off my power or water. Lived without cell phones for many years and I can do it again. Days of good customer service is LONG GONE with this low life company. I plan on spreading the word to people all the problems I have had with them from overcharging, crappy phones, crappy coverage area and anything else I can muster up.

Vzw calling to collect on forgot and or not received bill. However, Very rude to a decade plus long VZW customer. When asked to talk to a supervisor was hung up on. Called VZW to inform them of the crappy collections call."hi sir we see you forgot to pay will you be paying soon your balance is X" would of been enough.

Verizon - financial services

This is not Verizon. Verizon only calls the MASTER NUMBER on the account. I have a family plan, my number is not the master, therefore Verizon would not call my number. Verizon also knows what name is associated with each number, so they wouldn't call me looking for someone else either.

Don't give these people any of your information.

If its Verizon Billing it would be nice if they'd put a name with the number... I know I didn't pay it. you don't need to remind me. Tryin to get back up n goin after losing a job and just starting another one. They're not my biggest priority.

just called verizon from my cell phone (611) and was told someone has given our cell phone number as a contact and that is why we are getting the phone calls as a way to collect a debt......call and ask them to research it to make sure no one else has your cell phone number as a means to contact them.......low life people that use our numbers as a contact when they know good and well they are not going to pay their bills......

I've been getting calls from this number and another (615) area code #. I don't have Verizon for anything. Whenever I answer they ask for different random names, never the same one. Feels like a scam, but I'm just tired of answering their calls.

Nice trick a friend gave me... I downloaded a "silent" ringtone for my iPhone. When these random #s call me, I add to a Contact that is assigned as SPAM - DO NOT ANSWER w/ the personalized ringtone. I'm not interrupted by the ring in the shower or a mtg again. Still wish they'd stop, but little tricks to not be annoyed certainly helps.

We contacted Verizon from their website. They responded back that this is a scam! Now they are investigating it. This freaky sounding guy called from a cell phone and is from Nashville, TN area. Anyone in these comments telling you that it is in fact Verizon, does not know what they are talking about. Look up Verizon and call or email them and tell them about this number. It is a scam! Verizon is not going to call your cell number about your bill. Verizon also said you would be amazed the information these scammers can get from a cell number. A few clues that he was a scammer is he called my phone but asked for the primary name on the account. Tells me it is a private issue and have that person call them back....doesn't leave a call back number...which is something companies just do even if their number is on the caller id. Also, they will be there till 9:15 this evening. What company closes at a "quarter past" whatever hour?!!!!

This is a game verizon plays. They send you your bill, the week before you get it this number starts calling 3 times a day, The bill arrives and on the same day they cut you off (at 11am) and you then have to pay a $15/line re-activation fee. When you call them they say if you dont pay your bill within 30 days from your billing date(which was 3 weeks ago by this time) you will be canceled any you will have to pay them the $175/per line contract termination fee. This is to scare you into hocking everything you own to pay the piper! Ask for a repayment plan with as much time as you can ask for to delay payment. but watch out, if your bill cycles you will get hit with more phone calls because their call back system is dumb and doesnt know you have made an agreement. Ignor these calls! Always Call Them insted of Them Calling You! Keep up with the promis you made to pay them and the date you are to pay on (helps you legaly if you have problems).

Lucky Guess from scammer?.... don't think so! unless they hacked in to the verizon web site (SSL no less), and got account information JUST so they could SEEM official. think about it! Had they done that, would they REALLY need to call to try to talk me out of account info?.

We have done this for over five years and the only time we get called is if we forget and it rolls over into the third month. Verizon will send you a free text to the primary number long before they call and they will leave a message. If you answer this call, say hello and just listen you can tell it's BS. It was some Nigerian who appeared to be outside, you could hear hammering, saws and children in the background. I haven't paid my bill for 3 months, why do they keep bothering me?

A previous post indicated this is a 3rd party outsource collection agency, this is correct. They happen to have called me regarding my Verizon account, and yes, I was a few days past due. I don't know of any corporation that doesn't utilize 3rd party companies to assist in collecting. It may not be an actual Verizon phone #, but they are acting on behalf of them, under contract. The thing to remember, just because SOME of us have be notified for Verizon, it isn't the only company they are contracted with; credit cards, house and auto loans, even medical bills could be a reason for their calls. Bottom line, if you owe a company money they have a legal right to contact you for the debt, due to business need, using their own employees or an outside agency. It does not qualify for the federal DNC list because they have a right to collect a debt owed to them.

verizon says that this is a company contracted to contact people who are late in paying their bill. mine was due yesterday, and i have already recieved 7 calls from this number since yesterday afternoon. they have never left a message and the the only info displayed when they call is the phone number. i recommend answering it and wasting as much of their time as you can. be charming, poilite, and sincere sounding while you ask them to clarify every statement they make. then forget what they said at the beginning of the call and ask them to repeat it. i like to sit with a cup of coffee and act ignorant as they repeatedly explain their purpose for calling. and then i ask them to hold while i locate my last bill, which usually takes at least 20 minutes...if they are still there when i return i like to start the entire process over again. it can be quite fun, and yes, i have too much spare time.

I just received my bill in the mail yesterday. I was at work today when my cell phone started ringing. I cannot answer it at work and I did not recognize the number. When a voicemail was left, I checked it and the beginning of the message had been cut off. All I got was that I was to call this number immediately regarding my account. Since the only utility or account I have that has my cell # is Verizon . . . well it sounds like a scam to me.

I believe this is a scam - called my office. we have never been late on our account. They are trying to get people to give their checking account information over the phone. I worked for ACS Inc. in Tumwater WA and they are an outsource company who is paid to access your VZW account for billing etc. We were never allowed to volunteer that we worked for an Outsource company because customers would not be pleased that we had accessto their information. When we gave a number it was probably one of theirs.

this is verizon wireless. it is a dialer campaign to get you to pay your bills on time. the number is not registered to verizon, it is to varoli, we use the same company at bank of america, if you are or have been late, or someone with your number has, it will be put on this system to call you. varoli are the facilitators of the business function. there is no message due to fdcpa laws, which only allow 3 messages in a 7 day period, with no call backs for 24 hours between. LIKE IT OR NOT IT IS RELATED TO VERIZON AND IT IS LEGIT.

This number is not a legitimate Verizon Wireless phone number for Financial Services. I have called VZW Financial Services and have verified personally. For reference, VZW Financial Services is an 866 number and they keep logs of when they call you. So...number is NOT legitimate.

If they hang up its probably the dialer.. dialers dial several numbers and it takes a while to connect and sometimes the calls get dropped.. Does it interrupt us and irritate us, YES, especiallly when it's a telemarketer. However, this is a number that would not call you unless you owe money. Occassionally payments can get messed up and they call you in error.. it happens to every one. If you have a postdated payment with them their records don't show it. It's not just this company and they cannot program their computers to avoid your attitudes and pet peaves. Pay on time. If you run up your bill, its your fault as the account holder and you need to pay. If you cannot pay in full then you should have done the prepaid plan. Don't blame the company for your problem. Companies would fail if they honored everyones request to not pay timely. This # called me and it's legit. I forgot to pay my bill. But I'm not blaming them, I just accept my mistake and keep my attitude in check.

FTC needs to investigate the person who has this number at the ATT Central Office and I am almost certain it will not be Verizon. All numbers linked to the Central Office can be tracked and monitored. A search warrant should be obtained to get access to this premise if supporting documentation about a legitimate Verizon usage is not there and the truth is, there is likely no legitimate usage here.

They are calling and leaving "You owe us messages" on a phone that is NOT the primary cell phone, the phone which the Verizon bill is sent to. Call the verizon phone number on your monthy statement and ask them about your account. Beware the scammers leave messages on boards like this one stating "Yes they are Verizon trying to collect". The scammers also will leave messages on your phone saying you phone will be disconnected if you don't pay them....That is lie / threat to get you to pay them money. Again call the verizon phone number on your monthy statement and ask them about your account.

This Morning I got an e-mail from Verizon with my bill...fine, they then called me AGAIN today from this number this time I picked up even though I AM AT WORK!! and I was told that If I did not pay my bill there and then my service could be disconnected at anytime and there was a $15.00 reconnect charge WTF?????? I hung up and if I am disconnected I will be mailing their shitty phones bak to them along with a letter. Who the hell do they think they are calling for payment less than 24hrs after mailing and texting a bill, with threats!!!! SCUM.The Lady was a RUDE BITCH AS WELL!

This is not verizon. Have a friend who works for verizon and he gets these calls too. He says dont give out any info to these scammers.

Mom got a call from this number on her cell, no message or any identifying info. She's covered on my cell plan. Bill is due, but they never contacted ME about it, and I'm clearly listed as the account holder - they just tried to call the secondary phone on the plan??? That's illogical. I could understand if they tried to call MY cell first, but they haven't.

This is a total scam job. i get this phone number popping up a couple times every other month. Call it back and it says "Welcome to Verizon Wireless. You have reaches financial services" and then they imediately ask for a phone number. Verizon does not have a message that says that AND they already know the phone number of the person that calls in. They always give you spanish options after the "welcome to verizon wireless" Don't give this person any information at all.

Apparently this is Verizon according to the posts here. Can't stand them calling me all the time since my bill has never been late in the almost 3 years I have been with them. They are always paid 5 days early. So, seems skeevy to me that they are calling to tell me I owe them money because the last time they called, was 2 days after they took the money out of my bank account.

I have received multiple calls from this number. Once 2/27/08, 2/26/08, 2/20/08. When I answer, they don't say anything and then hang up after about 10 seconds. But in the past (too far for my phone records to show) I was receiving calls from this number and they were asking for my sister (who my phone USED to be under.) I thought it was a Verizon bill collector, but apparently this is false. I asked my parents (who pay the verizon bill and have the main cell lines on our family plan) about why they might be calling me, and there is no reason. Our bill is up to date. This is very annoying though and needs to stop.

This is Verizon, it is typically their collections department trying to update your account. I asked them a ton of questions that were specific to my account and they were all correct. My ccard that they had on file expired on the date, I didn't notice that the number had changed.

Turns out, I have about a $600 surplus, due to the fact that, THEY ARE NO LONGER OFFERING THE 'ONE BILL' SERVICE AND HAVE SPLIT THE BILLING SO YOU HAVE TO PAY IT SEPARATELY FOR YOUR CELL SERVICE!

So please answer this call, and see what's up. I'll bet a lot of you pay automatically out of your checking account?

This is definitely an identity theft scam. Statistics dictate it is very likely that some of the people they call will have late payments; they exploit this to gather your personal information. They asked for my father\'s information, which the real Verizon would already have. The real Verizon would have no need to ask for as password either. Hang up or don\'t answer to begin with. Better yet, call the police.

This is almost certainly a FRAUD!!!! If payment is due, Verizon will send text messages (I asked him why I hadn't received any .... he stumbled on words). This person kept threatening "my phone would or could be cut off" IMMEDIATELY AFTER if I did not give him payment information or be put into HIS automated system (ha!) for payment. Checked with Verizon and my phone was not in danger of being cut off. BEWARE!!!!!!!

Do NOT be so sure this is Verizon calling you. It very well could be a scam artist that is hoping you give them your personal information to pay your phone bill.

If anyone calls you up and claims to be from a company and that you owe money for: hang up, and call the number that is on your phone bill (that you received in your postal mail) or on the official company website.

I've been late with my Verizon account and all they did was text message me to call them. If you call this number and give out your passwords etc, you have no idea who you are giving it to. Call Verizon's customer service number off of their web site. I have gotten calls from this number and will not call them back.

It's from Verizon Wireless... they have called me several times regarding an account that isn't mine. It's my phone number, but it must have been a person who had it previously because the name is nowhere close to mine. I talked to them twice about it and they still call.
