Who Called Us

I called the number back and it appears they look for people defaulting on debts.

I got divorced forever ago in a different state but because I didn't change my name until I remarried (and moved to my current state with the old name) they're hounding me about my ex-husband's student loan debt. Crazy. When I married the guy, he had not been to college and didn't attend college for the duration of our marriage. We can only figure that (1) he listed me as a contact when he filled out his paperwork even though we were divorced or (2) they found our marriage certificate and hunted me down.

Legally, collectors can call many times but can only talk to you once per day. This is why they hang up if they think someone answered who wasn't who they're looking for and this is why they don't leave messages. The only way to get the calls to stop is to reconcile a payment plan for your debt or hire an attorney to do it for you. If it's not your debt, I obviously have no idea since I'm still putting up with calls from these jerks. You'd think they'd stop calling an ex-wife since it's obviously a dead end but I figure they need to justify their jobs by continually making contact calls.

I've considered talking to them about Jesus. That might make them stop calling me.

They have called many times and I never answer. Today they called at at 8:01 a.m. and I answered. It took a long time before they responded. They said they were calling about a reference for Rosendo Martinez. I told them I don't know anyone with that name. They said they must have the wrong number.

This company is part of NCO Financial. They called me but there was no one on the other line. I called them back and their recording stated they are part of NCO Financial, A collection agency.

I HAVE BEEN GETTING THESE ANNOYING PHONE CALLS FOR ALMOST A YEAR NOW. I HAVE MY ANSWERING MACHINE ON AND THEY DON'T LEAVE ANY MESSAGES. THERE ARE OTHER TIMES WHEN I DO ANSWER THE PHONE THESE PEOPLE CLAIM THEY ARE DEBT COLLECTORS COLLECTING ON A DEBT. HOW DO I STOP THESE PHONE CALLS? PLEASE ADVICE. THANK YOU

I called, spoke to Josh. Asked to be taken off the list. He asked for the #. He stated that they were looking for " " (a name similar to my first name and then identical to my middle name - AND very close to how my name is [incorrectly] listed in the phone book.
I told him that there was no one here by that name. He said that he would make a note in the file to stop calling my #.

We'll see...

he was much more cordial than i expected. sounds like a collection agency. scours the phone listings for the name (and any similar) to the person that owes money. (standard procedure)
i HATE these guys.
i also despise the deadbeats that are on the run from them.

9/24 8:06 am Caller ID said "Outsourcing Sol" @ 614-791-4717. I answered and called asked for me by name. Said he was calling from "NCO Financial" about a "personal business application" made by X (the name of someone I know) and wanted to know if I had a current number for this person. I asked for more information and when he said he was unable to give me any I told him that I was unable to give him any information as well.

Asked to speak to Karen something, talked so fast I barely could understand him. Asked me if I was Karen, when I told him NO, he said are you sure your not Karen? I asked hime if he knew what state he was calling he got pissy and said "Yes I know what state I'm calling is this Karen?
He just kept saying Karen is this Karen. He stayed on the line and wouldn't go away! "Pest"! lol
I've tried to call the number back a few times to ask them to remove my cell phone number from their list. I was kept on hold as usual!

these people call like 8 times a day. they've got to have their call return on, because like everytime i use my phone, they call within 2 minutes. I finally called the number from my caller ID and it was for some educational services. They have no reason at all to be calling me, I'm not attending school, nor is anyone in my household.

I got a call from and they said hello in a very stupid way and then hung up...

Call at least twice a day. Usually around 8:00am and 6:45pm. We don't answer. Ans. machine picks up and they hang up. Very annoying.

This Ohio number has started calling me about 3 times a day, early as 8:30am or as late as 8:30 at night. No words show up on caller ID. Calls started about a 2 weeks ago, mid-Feb 2008.

they called my mobil for the last three days and leave no message got a hold of them today thats how i got there name said they were looking for ryan and would remove me from there call list

Called @ 9:32am on Saturday, 12/15 - no message or further info.

They have only called 1x and hung up...I called back and is was a recording for OSI educational services...I dont have a student loan through them so I don't know why they called....

This "unknown name" called and asked for Melissa. I said no Melissa lived here. He said okay, thanks and hung up.

i got a call to my cell phone from this number - they hung up. then, they call my wife's cell phone and did the same thing. don't know who it is, but they have called before...

I answered and they asked for Chris. I told them no Chris lived here and that the number was on the do not call registry. They responded they had the number off an application. I told them not to call again. They've been calling several times a day.

Outsourcing Sol call on Sat, 2/10/07 at 8:30am and 8:55am.

Outsourcing Sol called, 01/23/07, 2Pm; male caller records on ans. mach., "Hello, may I speak to _____. Hello? Hello?", then hangs up. Who is this Ohio company?

Outsourcing Sol calls weekdays around 8:30 AM and hangs up. Latest call: 10:30AM Sat. 01/20/07, the message left on ans.mach: "Please do not hang up, someone will be with you momentarily. This is an important call."
