No message, it was on caller ID. Called back and was told it was not a working number. They called 3 times.
Sue: I'd had the same impression of a degraded recording, something I am trained to recognize in my media profession. I've heard nothing quite like this from the analog or digital domain. Entire syllables are either spaced out or have missing fractions. I would bet you got the same reel I did or similar.
I had a voice mail on my answering machine from this number. It was totally garbled, I could not make heads or tails out of it except it said to call 719.....that is all that I could make out. I thought it was possibly a recording that was on its last legs...sounded like a worn out tape or something. I am not even going to try to call it back.....
Call the number back. After the second call in two days from this outfit (both with dead air), I called back and got an immediate option to be taken off their "special promotions list". Here's hoping...
Unintelligible nitwit garbles out something with "time share" in his mangled word pile, but suddenly is quite clear that it's "... for thirty six hundred dollars. Call 719-313-5911 to confirm." He drags out the syllables in the Colorado return phone number, laughably so when he gets to "fiiive niiiiiiiiine one one". The guy sounded half in the bag, truth be out.
Some more digging reveals this scam has been running since Spring. The caller alleges to have rented "your timeshare", when some recipients have never held one, and nearly always for $3600. Return callers who play dumb get lame excuses about a system failure and being unable to identify which timeshare or what leasing company is (not really) involved. Play dumber and the scammer tries to collect a credit card number for an alleged processing fee.
Last year this origination number was often connected to a credit reprice scam, in the vein of "Heather/Rachel" calls. A couple other reports say people were offered several grand in grant money or debt relief, all BS I'm sure.
They need to stop calling my cell!
I receive daily calls to both my personal home and home office numbers, both unlisted, from this number, the recorded caller identifying himself as Charles Berry. When I "press 1" I am connected to what sounds like an off shore call center. When I ask to be taken off the list, the call is disconnected. If I ask to speak to a supervisor the call is disconnected. I want these calls to stop, What can I do?
The number above i wish to block and find out whos calling 1-603-214-3323i have called them back they hung up on me
Automated voice about refinancing debt or something to that effect. Got through to someone who tried the sales pitch, and told them I was reporting them. Told me to f-off and hung up.
Like everyone says, its a msg with a guy in a very conversational tone about reducing debt. I press 1 to speak with an agent and once connected, I tell them that this is a business line and would like the number to be removed and they hang up on me.
I called them back 4 times before someone "said" they took the number off. (They hung up on me the other 3 times) We'll see
(800) 811-9606 telemarketer. here is there 800 # call them and have them remove your #. because when they call YOU they hang up on you when you ask them to remove your #>
Wacky pranksters. April Fools.
