Who Called Us

I too received a call from this number at 8:30 am this morning. I called the number back but you get nothing. No connection whatsoever. It's like you never called. I looked it up and saw the comment about calling 586-939-3810, American's Professional Services. I called that number a few minutes ago and was referred to a very polite lady that was aware of the the phone number 586-283-3000. I gave her my phone number and asked to be removed from their list. She was polite and said she would do that. We shall see.

these people call,they don't answer or say anything when phone is picked up,call this number back,no answer or ring tone.

Asked them to take my name off their list. They asked if I'd be home Thursday at 2. Hello!!!!! Like I'm going to tell anyone I don't know when I'm going to be home or not! Obviously telling them to take me off their calling list didn't work!

This company is a non-profit and offers discount coupons to people of all ages, but has a lower-priced annual fee for those aged 50-80.

If your phone is listed on the national 'do not call' registry, as a non-profit organization, they can still call your phone, as non-profits are exempt from the do not call laws. If APSA continues to call you even after you request removal from their automated calling list, continue to ask them to stop calling you.

A non-profit organization must spend all their outstanding cash before the end of each year, so they often simply turn any profits into executive bonuses.

America's Professional Services Organization represents a variety of 'partner' companies that sell life insurance, health insurance, financial services products, medical and health programs, and other financial instruments. None of these companies are permitted to cold-call any phone numbers on the Federal Do-Not-Call Registry, so using APSA to make the calls and set up appointments for them lets them get around this law.

If you agree to do business with APSA when they call you, they will have a representative come to your home and give you a packet of discount coupons and set up additional appointments with their for-profit partners.

Why are these calls allowed. No one is there when the phone is answered. No one answers at the following number either,(248)455-4800. why are they calling if there is no on there?

hung up after 4 rings.... per a previous comment their website is apsatoday.org or if it not their site it belongs to someone who claims to be non-profit...... same old story, if it sounds too good to be true it is not true

Not so fast, Tyrone. Non-debtors get calls from collectors every day in a process called skip tracing. Not that this caller seems to fit the profile.

this number calls every day some time twice,no answers,when i call back there is no dial or ring tone,I owe no one, so it can't be a bill collector.

The next time they call, ask them if it's FREE. I'll bet it's not.

If it's not, once you agree to "accept" it (they'll have you on tape), you may also be agreeing to pay for it.

Got a call from this number a few minutes ago, I didn't answer. I called the 800 number and talked to Monica and requested they stop calling. We'll see.

answered and they said they were american professional services and wanted to give us a bunch of discount stuff. said they would come by and wanted to know when i would be home. they gave me a day and time they would come by and i told them good luck with that. this number has called my home before and never left a message.

I just called Monica as well. She said they call ahead to make sure someone is home because they can't just show up at your house and solicit event hough they are a non-profit. I told her that the calls sound much like a scam to find out if you are going to be home. She stated that they have no choice but to call ahead and that she understands the concerns of apparently many people. I told her to take my number off the list. We'll see if that works.

I called Monica, as suggested below. Said they are non profit (BS). I told them that I'm filing a complaint with DoNotCall and that I'm alerting the police (as many posts indicate a concern about being robbed). I suggest that she google the phone number and see what people are saying about their business.

I asked them to stop calling 3 months ago after the last round of their crap, and they called me back again today. I've found a report from another annoyed callee with the same story, so they might still call you again later.
They claim to be a non-profit, but they clearly sell products.

Please make them stop calling as I'm on the do not call list!!!

I finally answered the phone after seeing this number calling again and was told they would be handing out complimentary package for people 50-80 years old on Thursday and what would be a good time for these to be delivered to me and my spouse. I told Monique that I have gotten this phone call three other times and at those times I had asked to be taken off their list which she answered she could do that for me. The unfortunate part is she isn’t the first one I asked to have my phone number taken off and I’ll bet she won’t be the last one I talk to from that company.

When you call 585-283-3000 there is nothing on the other end. The phone dials the number then lands in bitland somewhere. It's silent at the other end.

I have also received several calls from this same number. They say they are American Professionals and ask if you will be home on a certain day because they want to deliver a binder full of special discounts for 50-80 year olds. I called the number and like others who received calls, there is no answer. I searched the internet and per the white pages ( phones.whitepages.com ) found that (586) 283-3000 is a Warren, Michigan phone number which is leased by:
