Got a call from this number and did not pick up, they left a message. Since are doing our wedding registry from Macy, it actually turned our to be the woman who helped us with our registry from an Indianapolis Macys. I don't know if they have one number for multiple issues, but at least this time it was a real call. She did, however, try to get me to sign up for a Macy's card, which might explain why she was using that number.
Call several times a day, no message ever left
wont say anything when I answer, then call right back. I am calling and then it tells me to hold on. NO
After numerous calls from this and other "Ohio Call" numbers, I finally answered today. The girl on the line - sounded American, said she was from FDS Bank, a sister company of Macy's and that my payment was more than 30 days overdue. Considering my bill just came three days ago, that isn't possible. I told her that this was the second time I'd been through this and that for the second time my payment was current and that I had looked up this number from the previous call and knew that others were also being told incorrectly that their accounts were overdue. I suggested that she find another company to work for that wasn't trying to rip people off. She was nice enough.
I checked the back of my Macy's card and their card is issued by Department Stores National Bank.
If you do a search for FDS bank, you come up with this website macys.com which looks exactly like the Macy's site exept that you get this path Customer Service> Macy's Credit Card> VISA® FDS Bank Privacy Policy.
The true website when you go directly to Macys.com leads you to macys.com with this path Customer Service> Macy's Credit Card> Department Store National Bank Privacy Policy.
If you follow the links to apply for a Macy's card, you'll see this in fine print - TERMS, CONDITIONS AND PRIVACY POLICY
The Macy's credit card is issued by Department Stores National Bank ("DSNB").
If you do a search for FDS Bank on the Macy's website, there are no results found.
Something is fishy. They need to be reported to the FTC as well as fraud@macys.com.
I have been receiving these annoying calls and just phoned Macy's. The customer service person told me that the calls are from a company representing Macy's. I had made an online payment and was current. Apparently the payment had not been applied. I was told the calls would stop. We will see.
I am so sick and tired of these people callingy at all times of the morning and night. They even call on Sunday's. They never leave a message and doesn't answer whenyou say hello. Something needs to be done about this.
Called at 8:31 AM on Saturday 1/2/10. Left no message.
My wife was one month late. I told them to drop dead - as I don't tolerate harassment by East Indian's for a single late payment. Canceling both of our Macy's accounts for this obnoxious tactic and for their disgusting display of distrust that they obviously have for their customers.
I am getting 10 -12 calls from this number a day. It is ridiculous! No message is left and if I answer no one is there. I work nights and my husband is ill and should not be disturbed every hour on the hour. Any ideas on how to stop this? We need the phone and this is incredibly irritating and invasive!
They call here about 12 times a day, and like the others, never leave a message. I finally unplugged the house phone, it is so annoying. We all have cell phones anyway.
I just filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General. Let's see if anything happens.
I get about 8 calls a day, including weekends, for several weeks, then it stops for a while, then starts up again. I have NEVER had a message left, never is anyone there. They hang up right before my machine answers, so I get dial tones left on my machine. I have reported them to Do Not Call several times. Not sure what to do.
I started receiving calls from (513) 754-9822 about 6 months ago. At first they were a few times a month but gradually increased to 7 to 8 times a day. There were also 3 to 4 calls on Saturdays and Sundays.
The (513) 754-9822 calls are from Macys & Bloomfields. There are a number of websites this number has been reported to. Please contact you State General Attorney's Office and the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint. The more people that do this the more of a paper trail there is to convict these people of harrassment.
Also, the call back number they leave once every few hundred calls is 1 800 545-1256. Call this number and when the phone is answered an automated voice tells you to key in your account number, just ignore it and eventually you will get a live person. This when you blow a loud whistle into the mouthpiece of your phone.
Check w/ your phone company... I was able to block this number (calls numerous times/day beginning at 8AM.
COX COMMUNICATIONS offers this service for my set up. VERIZON also has a block for computer generated calls, well worth the extra fee! You may want to see if elderly family members have similar problems and help them block calls, too.
SELECTIVE CALL REJECTION
How Selective Call Rejection works:
You can program your phone to reject calls from any number you place in the rejection list. When your service is turned on," any caller in this list will hear an announcement that you're not accepting calls at this time. All other calls will ring through as usual.
How to use Selective Call rejection:
Lift the handset and listen for the dial tone.
Press *60 (on a rotary phone, dial 1160).
Listen for an announcement telling you whether the feature is currently on or off.
The recorded voice will then tell you how many (if any) numbers are currently stored in your rejection list.
Follow the voice instructions and press 3 to turn the feature on or off.
To add the last caller to your rejection list:
Press #01# (on a rotary phone, dial 1201).
To hear the phone numbers on your list:
Press 1.
After the list is read, voice instructions will follow.
To add a number to your list:
Press # (on a rotary phone, dial 12).
Follow the voice instructions you'll hear. You can store up to 31 phone numbers in your rejection list.
To remove a number from your list:
Press * (on a rotary phone, dial 11).
Follow the voice instructions to remove any or all of those numbers from your rejection list.
To hear instructions again:
Press 0.
Notes:
You will not be notified when or how many calls have been rejected.
You may press 1, 0, #, or * at any time rather than waiting for the voice instructions.
The list you create here is separate from any other lists you may be using for Priority Ringing, Call Waiting, Selective Call Acceptance, Selective Call Forwarding, and similar services.
Outrageous, huh? I get half a dozen calls each day, sometimes with no response at all when answered, they left messages at first about the "important business matter". Now they just hang up. Never have I had ANY card or account with Macy's/Bon/Bloomingdales or any of the Federated stores or its associate companies. Done the online research and I dunno exactly ya'll, but somethin definitely aint right. (variety of numbers over the last 2 months). I sure wont shop there. If its them, they should be held accountable- if its not, their legal team should have shut it down long ago. Make your complaints people; then vote with your dollars, take it somewhere else.
hae been receiving 2 or three calls a day from this number. they dont leave a message and now they are calling on sunday.thought that was illegal. is it?
They keep calling with an automated message about a important call - but the operators are busy - please hold for next available operator.
I think not.
;-)
someone continues to call from this number and hang up. they do not leave messages and they call every hour. who are they?
Received at least two calls per day from this number. I called back and got the Macy's Credit office.
Advised them that no one at my number has a Macy's card. The Rep asked if anyone had a Bloomingdale's card. Once I answered "no"...the Rep proceeded to check to see if I knew any of the names that they had on record fro my Phone Number (including other area codes). Once I confirmed that I did not know any of the other names, the Rep advised that she record my number as a wrong number and would remove my number from their database.
I recorded the Name of the Rep and the time of my call to their office for future reference.
Thank you!
It must be Macy's like everyone else said in the comments. Thank you very much. I thought I screwed up another call I forgot I was going to be getting by saying No she doesn't live here..." (me), but it was just Macy's...
They keep calling but NEVER leave a message. I think it is Macys because I am late with them for the first time ever. Have had their card for many years and I see others comments.I am disputing with them over a credit limit drop from 1200.00 to 300.00 before I was late because they dropped the credit line without notifying me.Now they have no problem calling me repeatdly.
They pretend to give you the option to remove your number but it doesn't work.
I have been getting repeated calls from this number for the last few weeks. They do not leave messages and hang up when I answer the phone
I have received two of these calls today. On the caller ID is says; Mason, Oh. I missed both calls. No message was left. I called the phone number. The phone rang once and then I heard; "Your call may be monitored for quality purposes." Then after a slight delay, a woman spoke and sounded as if she did not know what to say. She finally said she was calling to see IF I had a Macy's or Bloomingdales' Card? I asked her, "What if do?" She said, "That is why I am calling?" I said if you were employed by Macy's or Bloomingdales, you would not be asking me this question. She said, in an annoyed tone, "Do you have a Macy's or Bloomingdales' Card." I said, "I think this is a hoax and I am going to turn this number over the Attorney General's office. She hung up.
I really wish someone would locate these people and beat them down. They call my cell atleast 10 times a day and I do NOT have a Macy's account!
They called me today 8/12/09 but did not leave a message - there was a hang up. They called a new mobile phone I just got that is under a family plan - so the listing is not in my name but another family member who opened the family plan a few years ago. I have not had a Macy's account in 20 years and it was paid off way back then. No one on the family plan has a Macy's account either. Must be a scam. Id on phone said the call was from Ohio and the number was 1-513-754-9822.
Got the phone call again today, 6 times all within 3-4 hours! Stop them from calling!
I don't even have a Macy's account and I get calls from this number..so annoying!
These people are bad. Really bad. This is some serious harassment and something needs to be done about it....
It is a froeign call center that Macy's uses...I paid off my bill and will never shop at Macy's again !! People harrassed by this company should get rid of their Macy's accounts and refuse to buy from them...
This number is a collection company employed by Macy's. Macy's will put them onto you if you are one minute late or $1.00 short of the minimum payment. They won't quit until you pay up or reconcile the problem with Macy's. The person I spoke to must have been in India as I could barely understand her because the accent was so pronounced.
I have gotten at least 6 phone calls from this number over the last 3 days. No messages, they call and let it ring until by answering machine picks up and then they hang up.
its a scam, or you can sue Macys, read the newspaper
mercurynews.com
16 calls in the last 3 days. No one on the line when answered. I have received multiple calls per day over the last 3 weeks. I refuse to answer anymore and put them on auto delete.
I called the number back, and a man answered saying it was "Craig's Service," or "Craig Services" or something like that. When I asked why they called me they hung up.
They are truly Macy's. They are not a scam. Call Macys direct and found out a payment was not applied correctly.
They kept calling my phone 5 times a day for a week. They called as early as 8:20 am and as late as 8:49 pm at night! They often hung up. When I spoke with someone I couldn't understand anything they said. I asked if the guy was from India, and he said yes. He was actually rude to me and went about a long-winded way to find out if I was the person he was trying to reach; he said he was calling about my Macy's account; I told him I had paid the bill two days before and he wouldn't listen to me. He said that as far as he knew I had not paid and they would keep calling me. I hung up on him. I finally called THEM and told them that in the US you can't just call people at any time of the night and day and that you can't just keep calling for collection when the person has told you that they paid online. I am SO sick of them shipping out our jobs to a country where we don't have the same way of doing business and where there is a cultural disconnect even though it appears the people speak some semblance of the same English as us.
I unfortunately opened a Macy's card over a year ago to get a discount on a sale item.. I immediately paid it off with the address on the slip they give you that acts as your new card until you get one in the mail.. Then about 3 months later, i started to get macy's late bills, that not only including late fees, but took away the sale amount, so that i owed more than i had when i got the product originally!! So, what happens, is that Macy's put my charge on an 'outside account' not the in store account that i thought i had opened. It's a total scam..and when i called to fix it, they told me i had to call the 'other' account, and then back and forth...And i am still getting bills, despite the fact they knew enough to switch the money from one account to another! Now, in fact they owe me over $100, yet, they keep billing for late fees, etc..for something i paid off with in the first month I bought it!! And now my credit is suffering, when before i had good credit..Any ideas on what i can do? I really doubt they are going to pay me back!...And they call me up to 10-15 ties a day from 3-4 different phone numbers... Didn't Macy's used to be a bit more respectable than this?? At least that's how they advertise themselves!! I will never go back there!!
this is ridulous! I don't even have a macys or bloomingdales or....I don't use department store credit cards, and refuse to answer a call from a number listed as them. So, any idea how to get them to drop my number?
Very much like the other messages. Claim's it urgent. Calls multiple time a day. Caller is from India. Same caller each time but with a different name. Personal matter. This is constant, going on now for a couple of weeks. Last week when he called he said he was from macy's. This week its a personal matter.
Mr. parker can be reached at 1-800-545-1256 if anyone would like to give him a call back.
Phone calls multiple times a day, multiple days. Have spoken to the different individuals, all wanting me to pay over the phone my Bloomingdale's account. All are unhappy that I said I will pay in full at the store itself. No one will give a name. I have been a customer for Bloomingdale's for 20+ years, I have never had this kind of call before. I see other people say that the number refers to Macy's. Does any one know what's really going on???
It's Richs/Macys credit card collections.
I receive numerous calls from this number, up to 5 times per day. I have not answered a single one yet, and the only message left is a long, virtually silent message, like when someone accidentally calls you from their cell phone.
After researching this number, it seems it's related to another slew of harassing calls I receive from a myraid of 800 numbers in which they always leave an automated message on my voicemail stating, "This call is from Macy's regarding a personal business matter. Please call 1-800-511-3207." I have never returned the call.
I am so sick of these calls all day long now for more than a month... I DON'T EVEN HAVE AND HAVE NEVER HAD A MACY"S ACCOUNT!!! I don't even shop at that hole- in person OR online- and can't remember the last time I stepped foot in one of those stores! This is clearly a scam, and it NEEDS TO STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I picked it up and said who it was and the operator said, "It is an important call."
I am like, "WTH? what is this call about?"
Operator: "It is an important call. And it's urgent."
I'm like ok... and hung up on her. What kind of company just repeated that stupid phrase over and over again? Identify your self, SCAMMER!
I got this phone call several times now, and I changed my voice (very deep, and sounding threatening almost) for the operator.
Funny thing, that person did not even say anything and just hung up after I said "hello".
Is there a way for victims of these scam phone calls like us to sue them or officialy report them as FAKE?
Got an automated call from 513-754-9822, asknig to stady by their operators were busy but they had an important matter to discuss. Hung up on it, then googled it to find it's a scammer claiming to be from Macy's regarding past-due credit card balances. I don't have a Macy's card, or any other retail credit card. So, total scammer.
We are on DO NOT CALL list; the 513 number was on our Caller ID. "Miss Lars" asked to my husband re: "important personal matter" 9:20 a.m. 4/10/08 and asked us to call 800-545-1256. I believe it is their second attempt.
I only received a voice mail regarding, "an important business matter," which I'm sure has something to do with making payments on my Macy's card. The phone number that was displayed on my caller I.D. was (513)754-9822. Area code 513 includes Mason, Ohio which is the city from which my Macy's bill originates.
Voice messages left on cell phone 5 consecutive days by 3 different voices asking for a Melinda or Donald E. (they don't know how to pronouce last name. Asking to call 1-800-545-1256 about and important business matter. I am not the person they are looking for and have no important business matter to discuss with strangers using my cell minutes! I keep having to delete messages and reset voice message notices just for these idiots! My carrier will not block the incoming phone number!!!
Macy's had a security problem and had to issue a new card and cancel old, then never credited the payments to the new card. What jerks. We cancalled the card with them.
No clue, didn't leave a message, and I don't know anyone in Ohio
I believe this is definitely a scam. The number has been showing up on our caller id for weeks now. We have never answered. Last time our Macy's card was used was well over a year ago!
Claims to be from "Macy's" and wants payment... on a card with no balance that's never been used. BEWARE!
Just received a call from this number on my home phone. I assumed it was a collection call so I answered to inform whoever it was that I "no longer lived here". When I answered, a message came on saying that they were calling regarding an important matter and to hold in order to speak to a representative. A young woman answered and asked for me. I said, "She no longer lives here. What is this regarding?" It sounded like she got a little nervous because she quickly said, "An important business matter. Thank you." and hung up.
I checked with the BBB (Better Business Bureau) but found no listing, so I Google'd it and found sites such as this one with tons of similar stories. I do have a Macy*s account, but my payment isn't due until later this month. After reading numerous experiences, I'm pretty sure this is a scam.
Best thing to do is know teh number, and pick it up, say...Macys customer service....that really screws them up lol
Mr. Brandon Seeval called and left a message to call 1-800-545-1256. Looked number up on 800notes.com and read lots of comments about possible scam or late payment on Macy's credit card. I'll just pay what's due online and hopefully that will stop further calls, scam or legit!
received a call from this #. Gave a 800 # to call back. 800 # listed as MACY's
Received a call from this number. When I answered it, there was a recorded message, "Hello, we have an important call for you but all our representatives are currently busy. Please stay on the line and someone will be right with you."
Yeah right...like I'm actually going to wait! :-)
