How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

Forgive my French, but these F'ers are really starting to get on my nerves. It is not just one call that I get, I get several a day, and they are from various different 506 phone numbers. I have called the number back on the land line, just to get the recording that these numbers have not been assigned in English, then a French recording of some sort. I believe if I could get my hands on people like this, I would pound the piss out of them. It would do no good for scum like that, but I would sure feel a whole lot better. I am assuming if you press the number 1 or 2 that something bad will happen, so I have never pressed it. I just have to say that what comes around goes around, and these scumbags will get theres in the end.
Over the last few weeks these are the calls I've gotten from this EXTREMELY ANNOYING company. If I answer it often drops. Sometimes I wait for a live person. They say they are from "Card Services" or "Credit Card Services" then I ask them to do me a HUGE favor because they call me ALL the time and I'm NEVER going to do business with them so let's not waste each other's time and PLEASE take me off your call list. THe last lady told me she would, but if I get another call to instead of pushing "1" to talk to a live person, to push "2" to get off the list. I still get calls and when I push "2" it drops.
I've reported them to the Do Not Call registry and the FCC last spring. Obviously it hasn't done a thing. 1000s of people are complaining about these people. Why can't anything be done? They are breaking the law.

All tied to various automotive, card and vacation scams. Area code 506 is NB, Canada, but given that the last digit of the 3-digit exchange code changes and almost all are 11 digits, these calls probably do not originate from Canada. Likely an offshore scamster out of Costa Rica (+506).

Got a call from an international number? Don't know how they got my cell number or who is calling or why but it sounds like credit card request. The cellphone companies cannot block these international call either. It is pretty much sometype of international spamming.
Got a call from this number today and no message was left. I thought it might be one of my friends from out of town, so I called and there was no answer, but it definitely sounds like a number outside of the country.
