get this call daily for what seems like forever
Left no message. I'm on the don't call list.
Get you name on the federal donotcall.gov registry and then file a complaint everytime you get a call from this number. Some complaints have said that calls can't be pursued if they are from outside the country as is the case with this number. That is not true. See the donotcall.gov website ( ftc.gov ), which says
"Are telemarketing calls from overseas covered?
Yes. Any telemarketers calling U.S. consumers are covered, regardless of where they are calling from. If a company within the U.S. solicits sales through an overseas professional telemarketer, that U.S. company may be liable for any violations by the telemarketer. The FTC can initiate enforcement actions against such companies".
WARNING!... Do not answer 506-226-4565
Caller said this was the last chance for me to lower my credit card rate. She asked to whom was she speaking and I have always been so careful to reply "with whom do you wish to speak?" Unfortunately, in a hurry and without thinking, I said my name at which she promptly ended the call. This concerned me so I checked it out online and found this page. I tried dialing back and got a message that this is an unasssigned number. EVIL through and through!
says it was from nj.
New Brunswick
I am on the do not call list
I don't answer if I don't know who it is. Same as: 5062234569
WARNING! Have received many calls from this scam. Using the selection to have them stop calling does not work. I decided to talk to a person. This is a group gathering information for identity theft. The 506 number is the latest in the many numbers that claim to want to lower your credit card interest rates. Caller said they were in LA. Not true. Do no give any information to anyone using this scam and tell your friends and family about this. It must be working for them otherwise it would have stopped months ago.
ihave been receiving calls from this number for some time.they also say that my car warranty is running out. I have told theas people many times I don.t even have a drivers lisence and they still call. i just don't answer anymore.
I received a call today from "Warranty Service Center" warning me that my car warranty was going to expire. As I don't own a car, I assumed it was a scam, but decided to find out more. I believe it is the same company as one using 954-734-8504, which has been reported on a few sites and seems to be a fishing scam. According to other things I have read, they sometimes harass with multiple calls and try to get credit information. Most seem to be either asking about car warranty, even though they don't know what kind of car their target owns, though sometimes also represent a credit card agency.
The above is from other consumer web sites. I did asked to be connected, and tried to get more information on where they were located or the actual car company for whom they were working as an "agent" (their word). The woman was not rude, but refused to answer any questions or to let me speak to a supervisor. She was very unprofessional, sounded surprised that I would ask, and even said she wouldn't give me info because "I might be a stalker-type"! She was probably working at home. I will be interested to see if they call back.
I hit *69 and called back the number, and the message said it was unassigned. Given reports on the 954 number, I believe they are set up to not accept calls and have a bogus message. I checked, and the 506 area code is in Canada.
By the way, she was also incredulous that I don't have a car!
The pre-recorded message always says that this is your last chance to extend your automobile warranty, etc... I heard that if you press the key that they tell you to press to decline or not be called again, that they get information on you to bill you through, your phone bill? So I just hang up on them.
I asked the caller and got the answer Card Services, Orlando Florida.
