Who Called Us

I'm fairly sure that this is ExxonMobil (aka Citibank). They start calling about 35 seconds after you miss a due date. Seems like desparation, especially when the amount owed was $16. I'm wondering if they are going under.

They have been calling from 502-357-7999 & 502-522-9998. I do not have a Sears card at all, or any card that is behind on payment. This is the first time I was home when they have called. The man, Brandon (who has no last name) was unpleasant. He would not tell me who he was calling for or what he was calling about. Then he told me that this was him being nice and that he could become really unpleasant, if that was what I wanted. This is super annoying. I hate this company.

Called several times for the past few days. Never leaves a message and when I do pickup, I can hear someone whispering and laughing, but never actually talks to me.

Citicard. I have a Sears card that is LESS THAN A MONTH LATE, and they have been told that the card will be brought up to date within the next week, however I get several calls a day from them. Payment was due the 5th, on the 6th the calls started. My suggestion is to stay clear of Citigroup to begin with. If I knew how bad they would be, I never would have gotten the card. Ruthless collections.

Citibank Sears Home Improvement card collection calls

no message but they have called 3 times in two days. If it is about a Sears account, as another person claimed, I had a card but paid it off and closed it 2 years ago. They leave no message and it comes up unavailable. They called me a 6pm, 9pm and 8am the next day (today). Whomever it is better hope I don't get a chance to talk with them, because it will be the last time they open their mouth.

Maybe I should have read all the post before I wrote.. I nor anyone in my family has a sears credit card, but expcially not my daughter. I think they are looking for someone vonarble to pray on.. My daughter untill now, would not have thought twice about giving out her information like SS number and such.. That is why they will not speak to another person... These are not debt collectors calling my house. For one I own 1 CC, but it is trough my local credit union... Most of this has got to be a scam to get information, either to place purchase on your CC or to make a fake CC in your name( which happens to be my daughter ) I am normally very nice to callers, cause I know that they have to make a living also. But this has got to stop.

The phone number that is calling me is same as above, but it shows up on caller ID as CITIGROUP guess it makes it look offical.

This same group has relentlessly called my home at least 4 times a day for about 3 months, stating my daughter( who just turned 18) has a credit card with them. Will not even speak with me, even though I have told them repeatedly she does not have one... I have been so mad lately about it that I told them that she does not have one and to stop calling or I would report them. In which he replied " may I speak to________ my daughter" I just hung up. Now I figured it was a scam to get any type of info out of her, so they could set her up.I told her never to answer their calls... Now how do we go about reporting them and making these phone calls, that are on a daily bases, even Sundays stop?

Citicorp calls our home ever day numerous times. Early in the morning throughout the day every day. I.D. shows Citicorp. Just received a call on my cell phone with no name, but showed the number --502-522-9998

Don't charge up what can't be paid off in a hurry when the situation goes bad.

Sears credit card company (Citigroup, Citicards, Citicorp, all one and the same) collection department. Call from 7am-9pm manyyyyy times daily. I have all the CC companies and the different #'s they call from saved to my phone and save the ringtone as silent. That way I can actually look for work as they already know my situation and my layoff and not be disturbed!!!

If you request, in writing, that they stop calling you under provisins of FDPA (Fair Debt Practices Act) they must stop calling you. Letters will continue. Always dispute and request verification with copy of original signed contract. This will keep them from reporting the concern to the credit bureau. It might buy you some time until you can do better.

Citibank Collection Calls for Sears Credit Card. Don't they know many of us have unfortunately been laid off and collectiong unemployment until we find another job. The unemployment does not even pay enough to cover absolute necessities, yet alone a payment to them! I have asked for some kind of "grace period" until I find employment but none of the credit card companies want this. So I pay important bills....roof over head and inexpensive groceries for the belly!!!!!!!

These people keep calling me, and I looked up the number its a Louisville number, I received and e-mail from the VP to say he's approved my payment.
Please help, How do I stop them.

I am tired of this phone ringing and nobody is there. They try to record as the call is going on. Who in thier right mind would even talk with that?

This number and 502-357-7999 call our phone several times a day and evening, they leave no message. This has been going on for weeks. We have caller ID and don't answer calls from someone we don't know. Used call lookup and found out it is Citibank. No one has a Citibank card or ever had one, so we don't know why they are calling. We know now that we will never get one either.

This cannot be a bill collector, the number I get is 502-522-9998. I do have a citi card but it has never been late. This number comes in twice a day but there is nobody there. What's up with that?

Rude, rude, rude. When I told him he had the wrong number, he started asking me if I was sure. I finally ended up hanging up on him.

If you receive calls from 502-522-9998 call the FTC in Atlanta at 404-656-1390 and add your complaint to this reference number #20824396. The FTC will sue Citibank to stop this abusive practice.

Try contacting the FCC and complaining about the calls.

This number and 502 357 7999 each call my phone twice in the morning and twice in the evening every day. Fair Debt Collection Practices Act??? Leaving no message but calling continuously from Louisville, KY... Are they going to pay my long distance?

This number called at 8:06am this morning, and left no message. All that came through on my caller ID was Kentucky. I don't know anybody in Kentucky!

This call came to cell phone, approximately 30 minutes after I had changed my cell phone number! I had only sent my new number to my family via text! I'm wondering if text message aren't being monitored somehow...this is too weird!!

I just found out this is Citibank calling on Sears accounts to harass the Sears card holders IF they think the account is delinquent. Sears sold all their credit card/charge card accounts to Citibank, who is the biggest cutthroat collection agency out there. They are violating every credit collection law in the land and CAN be reported to your Attorney Generals office, and to the Fair Credit Reporting Act as a violation of their rules about how many times they can call, what times of day they can call, etc. BUT YOU HAVE TO PURSUE THIS AND FILE A COMPLAINT!!! YOU DO HAVE RIGHTS. Write to Sears and inform them to cease and desist contacting you and the MUST comply - BUT you must do it in writing!!! And SOON.

I looked the number up on reverse phone number, whitepages, and it comes up as unlisted.

They call when you are late on sears payments.

They have called daily to my office the last 3 days, leaving no message (blank air on my voicemail) or once 'music on hold' for 3 min was recorded on my voicemail: 10-Nov, 2:08 pm; 12-Nov, 3:36 pm; 13-Nov, 2:14 pm. No indication of who they were, or what the call was about.

Phone rings, I answer an auto voice says "please hold". Real person comes on asks for "Frank Smith". Won't give out their name or who they are calling for or why, just want to know if Frank Smith is available and am I Lola. Tell them it's the wrong number no Frank here.
I call back the number, get a recording at first, then real person who says, Citicards, may I please have your Sears account number. I ask why they are calling me and asking for Frank Smith and what does this business do. Woman operator won't answer questions and refuses to acknowledge they are debt collection department. Just promise to remove my number.

I reported to FTC-Do No Call and to Kentucky Attorney General. I suggest all do the same.

This number calls relentessly. I do not have a sears or citibank card. they are calling my cell phone. never leave a message, never anyone there when i answer. Concerning Mr. Slaughter, citi owns the sears credit card accounts, and it was probably a sales or collection call. If you have a Home Depot, Sears, Or one of many other national chain store cards, You will get relentless calls from many numbers that trace back to citi.

I keep getting calls from this number. It's a Collection for Sears Number. According to my Research they are in violation of Section 806 - Part 5 - Causing a telephone to ring or engaging any person in telephone conversation repeatedly or continuously with intent to annoy, abuse, or harass any person at the called number. They call multiple times a day. Usually 4-5 times. If you pick up the phone and talk to them they stop, but they don't leave a message if they get your voice mail, and continue to call.

They called my CELL PHONE three times. I answered two of the times to silence. If it is citibank, scammers, or some other credit card company, I find it very puzzling. I'm only sixteen years old and don't give out my number openly, nor have I had the chance to ruin my credit with one of their silly cards. They called from: 5023757999

This # has come up many times on my husband's cell. Finally I tried calling the # back. When the teen/college dude answered asking for our Sears Account # I told him that we don't have a Sears account but someone keeps calling our # so we needed to be taken off their list. He told me (in his talking-down-to-me tone of voice) they don't have a "list" but that if we have a Sears account they can look it by the phone #. I told him the phone # that's been getting bothered and he had a wrong name listed for the # so he said he would mark it as a bad #. We'll see. The whole tone of voice thing just ticks me off with these ppl though...THEY'RE the ones making the mistake and causing the problem but they have the nerve to speak down to ME?!?!

They just called and harrassed my 85 year old mother. They claimed she owed 300 dollars right now on her Sears card (not a credit card, just a plain sears card) and they demanded her checking account info to "bring her account current", her account is current. I dont know who these people were, but after I took the phone from mom the women told me she couldnt talk to me.

The person who called me from this number is breaking the law of "no call" list. I am also sending this information to the FCC, Better Business Bureau, The Attorney General, and the Fair Market Bureau.

I get calls 6 times a day from either 501.522.9998 or 502.357.7999. I have the phone logs online via my Vonage account. They call at 8:25am, 10:28am, 11:40am, 12:46pm, 1:54pm, 2:56pm and finally at 4:02pm to my home. I get calls at work also but I work 2nd shift so I get quiet voicemails. I did once get what sounded likea threat, the caller from 502.522.9998 left a messages saying " it only ends one of two ways with me cuz". This is ridiculous... I have to say that I am also going to tear up my cards and stop using them. I dont even want to go into a SEARS store anymore the experience is so poor.

I am cancelling my sears card they actually call my CELL phone 20 times a day if I am a day late on my payment. I only owe like 200 dollars I am so paying it off today. I am glad this there is this information on the internet

Yeah, this was Citi something calling for the Sears card that I have calling on my late payments. Come to find out, the lady at Sears screwed up on my large purchase and didn't put it in as the 6 months 0 interest 0 payments as I had qualified for. The people at this number were very friendly. I spoke to 3.

I get a call from these people all day! They call every couple hours. I have had some calls right after one another..like seconds apart! I know I owe them money but why do they have to constantly bother me..if I had teh money i would pay!

Have been receiving numerous calls from a Kentucky number 502-522-9998 telling me to hold for an agent about my Sears card which I do not have. Then started receiving calls from a North Carolina number 336-522-8999 asking for an Ann Taylor. All part of this same scam. Caller ID just names the state it is calling from.

Some obvious teenage voice called claiming to be calling on behalf of Sears Master Card for my wife. He then started asking questions to "verify" my wifes account. It was obvious he was attempting to scam the credit card number out of me so I just laughed and hung up.

A Google Search led to this information about the phone number:
