What's unusual is that this number doesn't ring off after 4 rings like most telejunkers.

I have HAD it with these stupid phone calls from different numbers. This one called at 9:30 on a Saturday morning! Didn't leave a msg and when I called back, it disconnected after one ring! And then Bell who I pay to have call block won't let me block it! Honestly, if I get a hold of any of these people......

I got a call from this number too and from 416-512-9770 --> this number actually called me 5 times. I didn't pick it up but on the 5th time i picked it up and it was just a background noise

I want to know who they are and what they want. You call the number back and after one ring you are disconnected.

If you want to get a hold of these fuckers press *67 to block your number and they'll pick up the phone, they will tell you that they just got the number today which they have been telling us for over a month now. This is a scam and they now what's going on. I called the operator and confirmed that they are located in Toronto. Keep calling them and hanging up on them...see how they like it. If you get their vmail leave a msg and fill up their vmail (the so called general information line)...let's get this cunt and prick back (it's a girl and guy duo).

I just received a call from this number. I kept saying hello and no response.

I called the number back and spoke to someone. He just received this number and he doesn't know anything about it. He said that people keep calling him and hanging up. Seems somethings up with cross wiring or something. He is going to call Bell Canada to find out what is going on.

I just got a call from (416) 284-2944 and same as everyone when I answered no one was there but a phone number was dialed I can hear the quick dial.

The same thing happened to me yesterday. The number called my phone and it rang once and hung up before I got to answer it. I called back the number and it rang once and disconnected the call.

HI just received this call on june 10 at 5:30pm. it sounds like a fax or sumthing, it keeps beeping until you hang up. i did get these calls a few years ago when i had a different number w/ the same telus provider, but it said private name. today it actualy showed a number.

This number's origination is from the Toronto exchange in Canada. Based on my research this could be telemarketers checking numbers to see if your number is valid before they call. If you are not on a do not call list, I suspect you will shortly be bombarded by calls from telemarketers.

When I called back today people hanged up on me a couple of times so I quit calling.

I think it's one of the Sick Kid Foundation asking for more money.

6:02 pm on April 9 - I received the same phone call. nobody replied on the other end. I reported it to my wireless provider, Rogers. They also took a look at this website. They made a "memo" of it, but said that they can't do much unless that number phones numerous times orif they receive numerous complaints.

Same thing just happened to me. I called back on my landline and it went to a voice message with someone speaking with a thick accent. I called back again and it said all circuits were busy.

What is happening her is this auto-dialer is phoning cell phone numbers to ensure that they exist, so that they can sell the existing numbers to companies that are going to spam you with either phone calls or text messages. This is illigal; contact your local police department and let them no of this, and that you are not the only one. If enough people do this, im sure the police will feel intigued enough to check it out, and shut this fuck up with his phone calls.

I got a call from this number today on my cell. But when I picked up and said "Hello", I got a screeching sound, as if it was a fax number calling my cell.

Today both me and my dad's cell phone got a call from 416 284 2944 this person at different times! tried a lot of times to call this person back, but it either keeps get cut off or no one answers, and the strange thing is that it got cut off even before the phone was picked up! it suddently just went off!it really piss me !!!

I live in GTA and my cel phones are from Vigin Mobile...about 3 months old. First this number called my cel phone (which my boyfriend uses alot when his is out of time). As soon as they heard my voice they hung up. I called back but it would ring once, then go busy....or it would just ring and ring. About 2 or 3 hours later....the same exact number call my boyfriends cel phone....I call it back.....same thing. I wasn't able to find out who the number is registered too, but I did call Virgin Mobile and let them know. They said they are going to contact the head office and take it from there. I think the poor Virgin guy thought it was the weirdest thing. Lucky for my boyfriend though....finding this website with all these posts from other people probably saved his life! I was sure it was some girl calling!! lol

They called me this morning too! After saying "hello" twice, i heard a lot of background noise but nobody on the other end. I finally said "Listen, this is crazy. Please tell me who this is immediatly!" After three seconds or so, the person on the other line said "One, two, three and to the four. Snoop Doggy Dog and Doctor Dre is at your door." At that point put the phone down and ran to the door. Nobody was even at my door! I ran back to the phone and they had hung up. What kind of joke is this? It's really bothering me.

this person called listened to my voice then hung up ive tried calling back but the person hangs up after the first ring i know its a housline and thats about it.
