hey "your face" why don't you leave your name and number so we can call you morning, noon and night at your home residence if you don't think its a big deal?

2008-06-17 17:56:36 UTCanon

Well, no surprise there. All the biggest pieces of crap call from Canada. I had Dish Network calling me 6 times a week at my business from a Canadian telemarketing company. Reporting them does nothing. At least they're not so far away that I can't drive there and take care of it myself after a little research. I had mine nailed down to the town they were calling from (even though they were unlisted, I still found them) before I stopped checking because I finally got them to stop calling. I was about two week's worth of calls away from finishing my research and taking a bloody (not the British meaning of the word) road trip. I believe the "mental duress" defense would hold up at trial.

By the way, ANY company can use 000 000 0000 as their spoofed number. I've gotten calls from a few companies using this. Today it was some insurance company (3 times).

all of us here at daves carpet cleaning think that you are all so funny get a life if you dont want your carpets clean then just hang up you losers get a life were in canada you need to be on the international list so we are not braking any laws butt faces

After dozens of cold-calls from a company offering ‘carpet cleaning’ on both my cell phone and my wife's cell, I done some research and found out the following.

Company Name: Dave's Carpet Cleaning aka Daniel Carpet Cleaning aka Best Carpet Cleaning aka Allison's Carpet aka 24/7 Carpet Cleaning aka Fast Carpets aka Stripe Carpet Cleaning
Phone Number: (Main 1-888-229-9795), 888-279-6050, 650-720-9075, 818-264-6623, 818-263-7053
Name of owner or employee: Allison, Wendy or Dave.
Massage: Hi, this is Dave calling, to see if you need your carpet professionally steam cleaned at a great price. Right now I'll steam-clean 2 rooms of carpeting for just 49 dollars. Our cleaning process is fast-drying and 100% safe for kids and animals. We also clean upholstery, area rugs, drapery, and tile floors. And because you've been so kind to listen to my message, I'll clean the hallway at no extra charge. I just want a chance to add you to a growing list of satisfied customers who appreciate good service at a great price. Please press one to make an appointment.

Address: This is their jobs ads maka.co.il if you understand Israel, you will know the address is on top of their phone and fax number. (Please help)

2007-11-21 23:02:22 UTCVictoria

Yes - I get a call from the steam cleaning robo-caller almost every day (caller ID lists as 000-000-0000) - they have now removed the "press 8 to be removed from our list" part of their message. I'm in NYC and also on the DNC list. The beginning of the message is always cut off. I agree with Gail- they are probably identity thieves fishing. What can we do about this? It's just plain harassment and illegal. Some of the calls have now started happening when I'm trying to sleep. I'd love to nail these bastards to the wall.

2007-11-12 19:32:47 UTCGail

I got DOZENS of these calls over many months, here in NYC. When "Dave" called today, I hit "1 to ask info to report to DNC-FCC. I asked the company name, phone number and local Manhattan address of the company, and got phony info on all 3 counts. When I started to ask to stop calls, the girl hung up. After reading here, I called 888-229-9795 and a man w/ Mid-East accent, answered "hello," but confirmed carpet cleaning was their business when I asked. I said I wanted to confirm their cleaners were licensed and bonded before making appointment. Man assured me they were, but put me on hold when I asked for verification data. When another man, similar accent, picked up, I repeated request, was again put on hold, and quickly disconnected. I advise NOT calling them, BECAUSE their own caller ID may confirm your number as "live," and they could LEARN YOUR REAL ADDRESS via reverse directoriy! They aren't sending guys out to phony addresses, either. I'm convinced they're in the IDENTITY THEFT BUSINESS. They are fishing for a NAME, NUMBER and ADDRESS that match up, and can afford millions of dead-ends, because of how much they can steal from credit cards and bank balances, from every ONE "hit" of a legit address/name/number they get, which allows them to get to financial identity data.

2007-11-09 04:14:15 UTCArizona

Eddie from this A-1 Carpet cleaning called me today and when I told him I was on the DNC list, he told me to "Eat Shxt." I had the phone company trace the call and then I reported it to the authorities. The authorities and the phone company are working on this. A couple of hours later, this same guy Eddie from A1 Carpet cleaning called me AGAIN! I reported it to the sheriff's department sicced Sheriff Joe on him.

Usual carpet cleaning deal. Press 1 and get some yahoo

2007-10-22 17:24:01 UTCErica

Have any of you tried filing a complaint through the FCC Do Not Call list page? See here: fcc.gov
I know it's hard when they have a masked caller ID, but if everyone complains to the FCC with all the evidence about who it was calling, they may actually take some action against these idiots. (They called me on my cell phone, which is also on the DNC list even though cell phones don't need to be.)

2007-10-17 21:25:54 UTCTony

Here's the message I got:

Allison, calling to let you know that we're now offering a carpet cleaning special in your neighborhood. That's right we'll steam clean your living room and hallway for only $42. We're a local carpet cleaning specialist with an excellent reputation for quality and service. We also clean upholstery, area rugs, and tile floors.
Press 1 now to schedule your cleaning.
Press 8 to be removed from our list.
Again press 1 now to schedule your cleaning.

I got this call, called 888-229-9795, got the same middle eastern sounding man, who called himself Ben. I asked to speak with his supervisor and "He's not here". So I asked to speak with the most superior employee there, and he claimed to be the only one there, and to try again in the morning. I called back four more times to confirm.

2007-10-10 22:18:49 UTCSam

Got a call on my cell phone from "Alison" - spoofed caller ID showed 1-000-000-0000, but I tracked them back to Best Carpet after some Google sleuthing.
Their actual number is 888 229 9795 and I called and made an appointment for carpet cleaning (3 rooms and a sofa) at a fictional address. Cheerful woman took all the info (Alison?) after the call was transferred a couple of times (by a couple of men). I will call to make these "appointments" daily. Just doing my part to help.

2007-10-06 14:39:06 UTCNew York

Phone rings, I pick up, get a voice recording of "Dave" who will clean my carpets and will clean my hall for free. I hit "1", a man with a thick Middle Eastern accent answered, I told him to never call my number again. Rat bastard.

This Dave character needs to stop calling...every day between 9am and 10 am for two weeks...I spoke to "Eric" @ 8882796050...he said he would call me back later ! I blew an air horn , hung up.

Let's bother the crap out of them! Everyone call their numbers and schedule a carpet cleaning! Even better, multiple times! However, give them fake addresses and numbers so that they'll be going out to different houses endlessly!!!

2007-09-24 15:23:10 UTCsam8988378

I received a call this morning 9/24 from Dave's carpet cleaning. I called 888 229 9795 (ty Andy), and asked for Dave's capet cleaning. Apparently Dave & Alison are related. I asked why he is calling our # as we are on the do not call list. He took my # (I was calling from Skype, so no number shows) & said he would pass this on to his supervisor. Of course I filed a complaint on the donot call site.

My brother just came in. It seems Dave calls his house, too. Of course he is also on the do not call list.

Is it possible Alison/Dave is using the list as a source for phone numbers?

2007-09-21 03:41:49 UTCFry

1. Agreed, these people need to be stopped. They have been calling me for over a year now, using spoofed (faked) caller ID. I am on the DNC list and have an unlisted number, so what they are doing is totally illegal. No surprise. Plus, any attempt to talk to the woman who comes on the line when you press 1 is met with an immediate hang up.
2. Filing the DNC complaint is fine but does absolutely nothing. The FCC is so overwhelmed they won't do a damned thing. Besides, these carpet cleaners spoof their caller ID now, so how do you know what number to put on the form?
3. I have worked in the telecom industry and in information security for over 10 years. These people are not bad at covering their tracks, but there are some openings in their armor. I am fed up with these guys, and I intend to bring them into small claims court. I have a plan but I do not want to post it here because they read these sites. If I have any success I will post a guide on how to nail them. Stay tuned.

2007-09-20 00:34:21 UTCAndy

I pressed 1 and made an cleaning appointment with that company. When they show up I will tell them I don't need a carpet cleaning and ask them how they feel about people wasting their time, like they've wasted mine many times with these calls.

Guys do the same and teach them the lesson until they learn it. BTW I asked the receptionist for the real number for that company, it's 888 229 9795.

These people call me regularly, but I'm almost ready to start giving them BOGUS CARPET CLEANING JOBS AS A WAY TO RETALIATE! In other words say yes I want my carpet cleaned, but THEN do one or more of the following: 1. Order and then cancel, just before they show up. 2. Give them a phony address. Have them come out and explain to whoever shows up the absolute "PHONE H#LL" they're putting me thru, then when they are present, get their name, address, and service phone number and report them! 3. Or ask them exactly who they (as a "legitimate" carpet cleaning business) contact to do their telemarketing?!
THERE JUST HAS TO BE A WAY TO GET THEIR ATTENTION AND GET A SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION TO THIS CR#P!

2007-08-25 16:38:05 UTCRose

I don't answer unknown Caller Id's. If they want us bad enough and legitimately, they can leave a message. Didn't answer and no message left. Thanks for the warnings.

Uses a spoofed email caller ID showing 41555510000. However, they have at least 11 other phone numbers. Call them! 8882796049, 6050,6051,6052,6053,6054,6055,6056,6057,6058, and 9496067821. I'm sure there are many more! I checked these phone numbers on Yahoo. Each number comes back with three addresses. In three different states. Ca, Il, and Wa. Check it out. When you call a women will answer the phone during the day hours only. There is no answering machine at night. Some of the business titles they use are: Carpet Cleaning 1, 24 hour carpet cleaning, A+ carpet Cleaners, and Best Carpet Care. Possibly, just a creepy telemarketer. give her a call, see if you can place a bogus order? If they show up, tell them someone must of spoofed your phone number. Wasn't me! LOL Or you can just keep giving old Alison ringy dingy's. some of her own medicine. She how she likes it. Happy hunting!

I get calls from this number 2-3 times a week and it's a pre-recorded ad. I no longer accept calls from this number. If I try to dial back to that number.AT&T tells me "that number cannot be dialed"

These people call me multiple times a week even though I am on the Do Not Call list. I have started filing a complaint for each incident: donotcall.gov

I also called the 888-279-6050 number THREE times and requested to be removed from their call list. After I state my request, the woman hangs up.

I've been getting calls from alison too! each time I file a complaint with the ftc. Today I called the ftc and finally after going through all of their menus got to talk to a person. Do it today!!

I received a recorded message at 9:00 am 8/20/07. I pressed "1" and woman said, "BEST CARPET" do you want to make an appointment. When I asked for their phone number, she hung up. This is about the 15th call I have gotten from BEST CARPET in the last few months. Day and night. We are on the "do not call list." When I redial their number it is busy although one time a woman answered and then hung up when I asked to speak to her supervisor. Stop them.

Recorded message saying it's "Alison from Carpet Cleaning Specialists". Hitting one gets a woman asking for info and when you tell her to remove your number from the list, she gets all bitchy and hangs up immediately.

Yup, am getting more calls now...

got two calls in two days

These are their other numbers:

888-279-6049,
888-279-6051, 888-279-6052, 888-279-6053, 888-279-6054, 888-279-6055, 888-279-6056, 888-279-6057, 888-279-6058

All these numbers are current and working as of today. They are answered in the names of various carpet cleaning companies, Best, Carpet Care, etc.

I've been calling and hanging up for half an hour. When they stop answering one number, I move on to the next.

LETS ALL CALL THEM AND CALL THEM AND KEEP THE LINES TIED UP!

I urge EVERYONE to call 888-279-6050 and TIE UP THE LINE AND KEEP IT TIED UP UNTILTHEY WILL LEAVE US ALONE.

If you want a laugh, ask for "Alison." Apparently, they only hire women named Alison, lol.

All the Alisons have the same line too. "We're a charitable organization." Baloney!

Call, people, CALL!

Steve, thanks for posting that phone number. (888-279-6050) I just called and asked "are you the people who are making cold calls to people on the DNC list while masking your real number?" The nitwit who answered stuttered "uhhhh, ummm, why do you think we are doing that? How did you get this number?" I told her I got it from whocalled.us and that I was reporting all their linked numbers and that they would indeed pay someday for breaking the law and harassing people.

Of course she hung up on me but I feel better!

I plan to call them several times a day, at least, and I urge EVERYONE to do so.

I'm going to go buy an airhorn this afternoon and from now on, I will not even bother to speak. I will just blast them.

They've earned it. I don't even HAVE carpet.

I have gotten in excess of 20 calls from Alison at Carpet Cleaners in the last 6 months. Pressing 8 to be removed DOES NO GOOD.They just keep calling.

Second call from these carpet cleaners. Pressed "8" to be removed from call list and was promptly disconnected with no confirmation of removal.

A1 Carpet Cleaners on the prowl again with a spoofed callerID.

This person called by some miracle to two different phone lines in my house at the exact same moment. A recorded "Alison" called to tell me about an exciting carpet cleaning special for $40 in my area. "Press 1 to schedule an appointment, press 8 to be removed from this list". I pressed 8 and was immediately disconnected. Can't we stop these people?

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
