Who Called Us

What a joy of ignorance! First they were using my maiden name... once I finally got it through his head that I was MA and not SIR.. finding out that the debt they were TRYING to collect has been paid off for well over 9 years... Be Careful! I of course told him that he needed to get his records straight, that that bill is NOT on my credit report, and since I had the company name and number, I was filing claims for fraudlent collections, ect. We'll see if they call back.

this is a collection agency called AACC. they use several different phone numbers. 752-209-2028 & 752-209-2019. they also use a recorded message to see if you are the person they are preying on. I have no bad debts but they call constantly.

Someone from AACC has been calling for over a year. They accused my husband of lieing about his social security number. They call almost every day and use several numbers. If we do not recognize the area code, we do not pick-up. They were told to remove our number off their call list. They are very rude and if they call back again, I am going to give their name and number to my attorney and will file a suit against them for harrassment.

Received an "automated call" on our answering machine today, stating "This call is for [somebody]...If you continue to listen, you are confirming you are [somebody]." What?! Your "computer" is talking to our "machine," and there's no human around! Anyway, they were looking for someone with a last name similar to ours...so, sent an e-mail to their website contact e-mail "customerservice@assetacceptance.com" asking them to stop calling. Don't know if it will do any good. First time we've gotten a robo-call where the computer/voice says "if you continue to listen, you are confirming you are [somebody]."

Best thing to do is not pick up the phone. The debts AACC buys up for 3 to 4 cents on the dollar are usually well past the statute of limitations. Sometimes they are not positive who owed the money to begin with so they call anyone with the same last name and initials. Sometimes the original "creditor" was pulling a scam to begin with. Like those fitness clubs that sign you up for a "free trial" and then bill your credit card. Then the "creditor" will sell your "debt" to AACC. Pretty sweet, huh?

This is a publicly traded company so the SEC 10k filings have info on AACC's executives including their compensation. These folks get paid over $300k with six figure bonuses if they make their numbers. Those of us who work for publicly traded companies should already know that as long as it's within the letter of the law, anything goes.

I also suggest you get on the do not call list and if these folks call you, once again - don't pick up the phone, report them to the FCC. Make sure your report is factual - wait until you are calm and collected before you file a report to the Federal Government.

they are a bunch of arrogant idiots that need to get a life!!! they call everyday from (434) 878-9956 or (434) 878-9958 & they say i owe money from a credit card that i never had in my life!!! a great way to have them to stop calling you is to answer the phone and wait for one of those live idiots to answer , then use an airhorn or a police whistle as loud and as long as you can. you will get there attention for them to stop calling you, and keep doing it until they stop!!!

They have only 2 years to take you to court . If you own any thing worthwhile court action is more likely. After that the only thing a collection agency can do is call you on the phone and send letters. Both of those tactics are restricted by law. After 7 years it goes away, credit report clear of the unpaid debt . Your state attorney general can help you with illegal harassment . A letter from a reputable lawyer ends most 2nd and 3rd party collections.They are making $.03 on the dollar .How far would you go for that ? Laugh in their face it's fun ,Buy a Panasonic phone it blocks numbers for free .One last very important thing THEY NEVER TELL THE TRUTH NEVER ,NEVER ,NEVER. Good luck.

STOP CALLING US!!! THEY MENTION OUR NAME AND STATE IF YOU'RE NOT THIS PERSON, PLEASE DON'T LISTEN BECAUSE THEY HAVE PRIVATE INFORMATION REGARDING "OUR ACCOUNT". WE HAVE NEVER CALLED BACK BUT, THEY BUG US AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK.

Keep calling about a debt resolved with another collection firm 10 years ago. Won't take no for an answer. Keep calling even after agreed to "investigate" and take me off their list. I don't answer this caller anymore, but they call at least once a week, sometimes more, and from several different numbers. Obviously not affected by Do Not Call listing.

These people are garbage. Trying to collect some debt from over 15 years ago I don't remember one way or the other. Pure harassment and they will never get a dime from me.

I got a call from a 248 area code just a couple of days after this call which is the same company. They also call from a 408 area code. They're sales people wanting a commission for a debt that was resolved over the 7 year deadline.

They Keep calling my Cell Phone even on Sundays..

Granted, I do have an account with these peeps (soon, I shall be free from this scourge), but they always call for the wrong person.

hAVE had frequent calls from this number.. ON 4-03-2007, my husband answered all the questions regarding a Discover Card We have never had a Discover Card, They had my middle initial and our adress incorrect. They called again today at 5:36 PM. Caller was very rude and said the next call I receive will be from their lawyer. They ask for personal info like socisl security numbers.

These guys suck. Calling regarding a DHL account I was in charge of at my last employer. An account that we had settled with DHL over a year ago. I don't answer when I don't know who it is, so this is just getting old, basically.

These people keep calling my cellphone which I refuse to answer wasting my minutes of air time. They called 11/07/06 to my zip 92110

No message on machine. Sounded like there was a hang up. There have been collector calling here for someone by a different name. I hate that stuff.

Didn't leave a message, just hung up. Called my cellphone at 9am on a Monday. I didn't answer as I didn't recognize the number. Looked the number up on Google and here I am!

They also call from 410-986-0085. They are extremely rude. I've tried to tell them the person they are looking for at my number (cell phone), and they say they'll take me off the list. They won't. They keep calling around 9pm and 8 am pacific time (2-3 times a week).

They usually call when I'm at work during the day and don't leave a message. Then when I get home and check my phone, I see in the Caller ID that they've called. They've been calling for over a year now.

Someone called my office number and left a message. It was a guy who didn't speak English very well. He kept asking for someone or something. I deleted the message.

So much for a do not call list! If someone wants something, leave a message!

Didn't leave a message, just hung up, have called numerous times in last month. I finally blocked them, just so I don't have to look each time the phone rings.
