Who Called Us

I'm getting the same name on my caller I.D but the number is (917)398-5569

they called from this number afterward: 888-271-7667 They hung up on the answering machine both times, and called at 9 am on Saturday morning (thanks a lot!)

3rd call into my residence from this number .. all times day and night .. I want it stopped.

called on 07-24-2009 hung up on ans. mach. caller i.d. had this number on it do not know why they called us we never did any business with them or never talked to them before.we are senior citizens age 70 and 66 on s.s.do not need these calls.

i recieved this call 23 times in two days from this # and 3 others on my cell phone and i too got a message stating that someone in your household has a intrest in college i finally got ahold of a lady named Kenny and told her to remove my # from the list or i would get her for harrassment no sooner i hung up i get another call from a 2012574829 same place i then called back and asked to speak to a super. and she said she was and i again yelled at her and told her to NOT call my # again she says its takes up to 24 hrs. i then told her i get a call a min or 20 hrs from now i will call BBB

Those of you who suspect this call from Facebook, take your phone number and address OFF of Facebook.....OR, keep it there, but only ADD/FRIEND people you REALLY know. Yes, that means, no adding the magic banana, that cool band with the guy that has piercings and wears all black.....lol.

As far as the 11 year old daughter receiving these messages, I'd suspect she filled in a survey or other "form" for school/college information, or perhaps even something about "scholarships" - these surveys then sold her details to these schools, who attempt to get in touch with you and get you on the "rich track" for your studies...

I recently got an influx of these calls after my ex-roommate went through career change and was "confused" on what to do next, he saw some survey online, filled it in, and have been flooded ever since..

This thing dials my cell phone nonstop. I called it back adn reached a recording stating" you are recieving this call because you ro someone in your household has in interest in further education" We never gave this number out and its on the do not call list. Tried to leave a msg but it said the mailbox is full. Sounds like a scam to me.

I also suspect Facebook app since I just created a new acct with them.. or a job/career site I recently logged onto. I checked all the inqiries as "NO" that I DID NOT want any info about returning to school, so I don't know what the deal is there. I really think that it goes back to the "old school" mailing lists that are made up of your info plugged into certain sites. Even though they say that your info is safe-guarded, unfortunately, there are people out there that can get these lists and attempt to get you to buy something...anything to make a buck. The people who are making the calls are probably told that we have given permission to be called and are probably just trying to do their job. I used to work in telecommunications where I had to cold-call people and it was hard when people were mad about me calling. I was just trying to do my job and wasn't aware..I left that job and never went back! I will just report the calls that I keep getting randomly and pray they stop. God Bless!

I recieved a call from this phone number this afternoon at 4:59 pm. I do not answer numbers I do not recognize, so I did not answer the call. No message was left. I tried looking up this number on reverse look up and all I could find out (without paying for additional information) was that this number belongs to CI Institute out of Crofton, MD. I could not readily find any information on CI Institute by doing a Google or Yahoo search. I DID try to call the number back out of curiosity and got a busy signal.

I spoofed my caller ID and called back the 410-774-8401 AS 410-774-8401 and they picked-up.

Called twice - when I answered they said they were calling as I had registered and had interest in taking college courses online, (of which I knew nothing about and had not registered) - He then offered my a free home security system just for answering some questions - after saying - this probably won't work he finally gave up

Got a call from these people and have no clue who they are. I also received 2 other calls from NJ and Washington DC....they wont leave a message on machine nor with they leave message in person. (I tell them I am not here because I do not know who they are...lol)

Called me twice today and did not leave a message. I called back and they said they are a career institute. Pressed one to speak with a REP and got someone. I asked them to take me off their call list which the lady said they were able to do. We'll see.

I've filed a complaint with the Do Not Call Registry. If more people would file complaints, maybe this company's call center will be shut down.

Got called from 410-774-8401. My phone tells me they're from Maryland. I haven't picked up yet but it's just very strange. I think I was called by these people before and the man yelled at me. What the heck do these people want?

Advice of the day - purchase a whistle .. the next time they call it will be priceless! YOU MUST FIRST WAIT for an actual person to say "hello" - then just give em all you got with the whistle right into the receiver! When their ears stop bleeding .. they'll realize their stupidity and leave you alone! In remembrance of Paul Harvey .. "Good day!"

8 calls from the same company using different numbers in two days. These folks need a cactus dipped in turpentine, jammed up their poop chute, and set on fire...

Called back and a message service said "Thank you for calling the Career Institute ..." This woman asked for Paul once before and said he had applied to go to college. I told the woman that Paul already had both a cxollege and law degree and to not call her anymore. She was very rude and then hung up.

8:15 in the friggin morning... are you kidding me? If the phone rings again from these people today, as I am sure it just might as I've been reading other people's responses, they will get an earful. Why would anyone in their right mind get a job in this kind of call center? They honestly must have IQ's measurable on a standard ruler. Who else with a normal shred of intelligence thinks that calling people blindly knowing it will irritate approximately 80% (or more) of the population is a good choice of careers?

Well, I guess they needed a place for the people who couldn't flip a burger to work.

They called three times today. Twice from the number above and again from another number 201-257-4829. I didn't answer no one left a message. And when i tried to call either number the line was busy. I have no idea why they are calling but at least i'm not the only one with this proble. O and Caller ID says CI Institute

The phone rang and it came up CI. I answered and a guy asked for my husband. I told him he wasn't here and asked him if he would like to leave a message and he replied, " Uhhh. No, there's no message to be left. Bye.". It was very odd, so I researched on the internet and found this site. The guy was rude and I don't appreciate it.

That is just plain annoying; to be called and then, once we have missed the call, for the caller not to even leave a message.

Started calling 3 or more times per day. They are a leads generation/verification service. They get leads from internet ads that you would sign up to show interest in school/college. However, the "interest", like so many other adverts is very loose so that you will get calls even if don't remember specifically responding to a college advert. They first couple of days the calls are literally dialed by hand from more than one location so that more than one number shows on callerid. If after about 3 days, the hand dialing in unsuccessful, your number is transferred to the automated call center where their robodialer calls you daily. Basically, they just verify that you are indeed interested, then sell the sales lead on to more companies who then call you more. To get off their call list, call back any one of their numbers, and press option one to speak with someone. Just request to be taken off their call list, and they will do so.

They have been calling like crazy. at least 2 time a day for 3 days now

They called yesterday and asked to speek to my husband, I told them he wasn't here and they said they would call back. They called back today twice and didn't leave a message.

Male caller asked for wife Kathy. Would not leave message. Stated he would call back
