Taped Message saying to lower interest rates press 9 to speak to an account representative. We have 2 phone numbers & a Fax & all 3 rang with this same # at the same time so I pressed 9 on one of them & got a rep. He was very rude & hung up because I don't have any credit card balance & wasted his time.

card marketer who is committing wire fraud by misrepresenting themselves as my existing credit card issuer. When asked what card company they actually work for, they hang up. Please note that I started getting these calles after I spoke with a private stock sales representative (in a boiler room)located on Ventura Boulevard in Los angeles.

recorded message. claim that you have good credit rating thus they can lower your interest rates on your credit card.
IT IS A SCAM.
file a complaint instead: complaints.donotcall.gov
these people call me EVERY day. usually in the morning, eastern time.
I am posting this everywhere in hopes non one gets scammed (and that they stop)

incessant - we do not answer unidentified calls!

2009-03-03 19:22:20 UTCPK

Do not answer, period.

If you answer, they will definitely know that your number is actively in use. Yes, they call me almost every day, but sometimes only every week. OF COURSE, everyone wants them to stop, but there's nothing anyone can do right now, so just ignore their calls. If you answer, you're obviously in the mood to get screwed.

*do NOT call them back

I am sick of this type of phone call. I called them back and they hung up when I tried to complain. They are slime!

Company: None, bogus CID (Exchange 000 is invalid)
DNC Status: NONEXEMPT
Call Purpose: SCAM
Recommended Action: Do not answer/request cessation of calls and hang up, report to law enforcement/FCC/FTC/telephone company.

These scumbags are at it again. They keep changing their phone numbers because honest citizens like us keep reporting them to the FCC. Americare Software AKA Versa Debt you are true vermin that only the state of Florida could harbor and allow to flourish in the hairy armpit of Jeb Bush's legacy. Why don't you sell crutches to quadriplegics instead? Or, better yet, DIE/

I also don't answer if I don't know who it is. I re-registered on the Do Not Call list but I guess they've found a way around it.
How rude and annoying!

Just got a call from these imposters. Recording stated I was eligible for a lower rate; when I pressed nine this woman came on. I asked what bank she was from and she said "any of them: Chase, Citibank, Wachovia". I asked her how that was- I work for Citibank and no one can offer a lower rate but the issuing bank. She called me a smartass know it all and hung up on me. Definitly someone looking to get information.

2009-02-20 18:04:18 UTCbea

They did not leave a message.

2009-02-20 17:06:05 UTCMark

I don't answer if I don't know who it is. So I called it back and I get a message that says "My call cannot be completed as dialed"

These idiots tried to scam me too saying they can lower your interest rate!!! BEWARE WE ARE ON TO YOU!

2009-02-18 22:43:02 UTCWatt

Automated system answers and ask to press 9 to lower intrest rates. Phone rings nobody answers and when you call back the number is disconnected. I think this is a scam.

Kept Eric on the line for over 15 minutes looking for my card info. He got upset and made a vague threat that he knows my phone number then hung up.
Card Services standard crap about lowering your interest rates. NO option to remove, constant do not call violator.

These people are sooo stupid. Make them wait for information they'll never get.. They'll wait forever if they think they'll get a card number from you!

Woman called to say she was calling to lower the interest rate on my credit card. I asked which one and she said on my mastercard. I asked which mastercard and she said the one that started with a 5. I said, "Don't all mastercards begin with a 5?" She immediately hung up!!! We are also on the do not call registry.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
