It only rang four times. I'm glad I didn't bother to make an effort to answer it.

Automated message left on voicemail. Great opportunity to lower my interest rates. Yeah right. They had a menu to press numbers on the phone to transfer to a Rep or to no longer receive the calls. I think it's really just to let these people know that a real person answered the phone.

This was another call from Rachel of Cardholder Services. I only answered the phone because I thought it might be a friend calling from Florida.

The reason a complaint might not work donotcall.gov is because they are bouncing a fake number off of your caller ID. I called the number and it is out of service. File the complaint anyway, donotcall.gov the FTC still can build evidence and when they find out who was using the number, the FTC complaints can be used in court. The automated attendant Rachel idenfiied the call as Cardholder Services, advising they can lower my rate as 300 dollars or more. I was transferred to sales agent. I asked the representative for their address just to be sure I am speaking with a legitimate compnay. The representative reponded that, since he does not have an indian accent, the company is legimate. I asked another question and they disconnected. If they talk like that they are ready to rip you off.

Jail is too good for these slimers. They just keep calling. Govt is doing a great job, right?

called numerous times.

Recorded message to lower our interest rates.

I just received a call from this number. First, a recorded voice announced that "there are no problems with your credit card." Then, "you qualify for a lower interest rate of 6.9%, please press 1 and stay on the line for a live operator to take advantage of this limited time offer." I knew it must be a scam to get a credit card number, so I pushed 1 and tried to talk to a "live operator," in order to report the scam, but the liver operator hung up on me as soon as he realized I knew he was a scammer. Do not call will not work with a scammer since he's trying to steal money from your credit card accounts, not actually offer you anything.

I have had these people call from 3 or 4 different numbers in the last few days. What good does it do to have donotcall.gov?

2012-01-05 19:39:00 UTCcolorado

I answered and a recorded message: "Hello, this is rachel. There is nothing wrong with your current credit card," then blah-blah-blah about lowering my interest rate.
Are there actually people who respond to this crap? Soooo annoying.Since it is all obviously illegal, I don't understand why these people cannot be stopped from this constant calling. Why doesn't the phone company do something for us?

I have received numerous messages from this cell phone. Summary of message is " IT is URGENT that you lower the rates on your credit cards etc. Press 3 so that we do not call, press 1 to talk to our operator" Pressing 3 does nothing. Calling back the cell phone # says " this phone is no longer active". I certainly do not want to press 1 to tell them NOT to call me as they obviously are unscrupulous and perhaps a scam at the best.

Same Sxxx, Different Day. They keep morphing their phone numbers, so even blocking the ones they call from does not keep up with their nefarious, and illegal, activity. They will not honor the National Do NOT CALL list or the Texas DO NOT CALL list and will not remove my number from their calling list. In essence, they are capable of SUCKING A GOLF BALL THROUGH A GARDEN HOSE!

Same as Dan (except for the "F-U" part... left message on my answering machine saying card services, press 1 if I wanted to lower my interest rate.

2011-12-13 00:23:32 UTCST

Called twice with a recorded message about how there is no problem with our card account (we haven't had any credit cards for 5 years) but we must call back immediately. Erase message.

2011-12-07 21:52:48 UTCDan

Recording identified caller as "Card Services" with "no problem with credit card" but I should press "1" if I wanted to reduce my interest rate. I did, and actually got a person who asked if he could help me. I responded that he could and asked him to please stop calling me. His response was "F*** you cracker". Then he hung up.

WHO ARE THESE PEOPLE? They should be out of business, or in jail.

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
