This call a call from Florida 321-250-2030 and did not pick up the telephone. The person did not left a message. I called them back and got a recording " the number you call is not in service ". These people do something by using not a working number gets on people calling ID. I like to put a stop on all these calls. They wait my time.

2012-10-11 19:07:35 UTCMeesha

They call me at least once a week. I never answer and they never leave a message. Today was the first time I answered hoping it would be a live person so I could tell them to remove me from their calling list, but it is a recorded message, so no such luck. Added them to my blocked caller list. FYI, the recorded message was something about Disney. I didn't listen to the whole thing.

i filed complaints with fcc & ftc ... please do the same. these idiots must be stopped.

We need to find out where this call center is. If we band together, we can overtake the guards and take control of the facility.

Here are our denands:

1) Stop calling us.

2) Stop calling us.

3) Stop calling us.

2012-10-10 16:42:00 UTCBarbara Thring

NO message left. Calls often.

2012-10-10 15:14:10 UTCJohn

Machine only got half the message, they are obviously not sophisticated enough to ave a program to tell their bot to wait until someone says hello or a message on a machine finishes. Unsophisticated means unlikely it really is Disney. Part of the message that it'd record said "as a special bonus the first 100 families to press 1 will get tickets to Disneyworld". Sounds like scammers, I have. No business with Disney, have not been there in over 12 years, so the caller is in violation of the federal do not call list.

I just ignore here calls

I'm not interested what there selling.

For the past year now I have been getting various hang up calls. Several of which were late at night and just heavy breathing on the other end. Which scared my mom and I thinking it was my sister in Afghanistan trying to contact us in an emergency. I've never been able to trace these calls, but today it happened again and this is the number that came up when I *69. No recording, no voice, just a breath and a hang up. This is getting really annoying, especially after getting threat calls recently too.

Over the years, the FTC has fined and shut-down numerous scams as well as those who ignore the Do Not Call list (auto warranty, personal finance, carpet/duct cleaning). Scams persist due to the huge profit potential. Hanging up, being on the Do Not Call list or opting-out does not protect you from their repeated calls. We can stop this with a simple, board-based and consistent campaign of taking away their profits with a few easy steps:

• Waste their time: talk to them, pretend that you are interested, string them along for as long as you can. Extending their average call length will tie-up their staff, increase employee turnover and starve their sales. My personal best is 17 minutes and 30 seconds (including 5 minutes of a supervisor’s time). Post your best times and techniques on Facebook and Tweet about it. Record your call and comments; post it on YouTube.

• Get others to help: forward this article to others, media, newsletters, Facebook, LinkedIn groups, Twitter and YouTube.

• Find and expose them: They could be located anywhere in the world but someone must be selling something to them. There are former or current disgruntled employees and managers who will tell the truth. Find them and post their comments and suggestions.

• Turn them in: go to the FTC web site and log all scam calls and those who ignore the Do Not Call list: complaints.donotcall.gov

Do not take out your frustrations on the companies who’s callerID has been used, they are victims themselves. Remember the Do Not Call list does not apply to the following calls: debt collection, political, surveys, non-profit, fund raising or to organizations with whom you have recently done business.

Telemarketer with a recorded message offering me a Free Trip to Disney World, etc

Am on the Federal DNC List

2012-10-05 16:50:59 UTCKathleen

Recorded message mentioned a Disney vacation and provided a code. When I pressed the option to speak to a representative and asked to be removed from their list, the caller hung up on me.

2012-10-05 14:24:51 UTCTom

Just press #2. I tried to ask to be removed from the list and "Juan" hung up on me.

2012-10-04 16:38:55 UTCDNCL

The are constantly calling .

2012-10-03 16:38:00 UTCPaul

Didn't pick up and the caller didn't leave a message.

2012-10-01 16:02:19 UTCdmhjmh

calls and never leaves a message---if your going to call and harass people on the DO NOT CALL LIST you should at least leave a message, if not stop calling here and harassing me.

2012-09-28 02:43:29 UTCResident47

Blah, have you not heard the phrase, ''What you permit you encourage''? If we don't report violative calls to the FTC and attorneys general and the DNC database and any other valid complaint desk, it's as good as condoning the nuisance calls.

As for a technological defense, I consider it a measure of last resort after direct confrontation and court action. But a direct approach is not always possible when the call center is in a foreign country and/or cannot be found without an extremely costly effort. Hardware blocking gadgets are soon overwhelmed, to be sure. What's needed is something flexible with unlimited capacity, like the caller management features available on a good VOIP service .... incidentally like the ones the scammers are using.

2012-09-27 23:39:15 UTCblah

What's the point of filing a complaint with the FTC when it's so easy for scammers to spoof their number on your caller ID? And what good are number blockers when most scammers are using a different number every time they call?

2012-09-27 21:45:34 UTCSue

Caller ID said Florida call.Don't know anyone in Florida.Of course they didn't leave a message.

2012-09-25 22:22:17 UTCJustice

I just notified the Attorney General,s office in Florida. If you are on a do not call list which is national, they can. E prosecuted for calling. I am upset this is an unlisted number of a person who violates the law. Please report this to the attorney general.

2012-09-15 15:41:28 UTCAnita

Calls every day over and over . My number is on the DNC list.

2012-09-12 17:50:39 UTCTeresa

Call from Kissimmee, Florida. They call over and over again. Not long enough for the machine to pick up. Tried calling back and it says it is not a valid number. I am on the DNC list. They have called 7 times today and it is only 1:50p.m. Will be reporting them to the gov.

2012-09-08 00:28:27 UTCHannah44

Call from Kissimmee, Florida. They have called several times. I don't answer and won't. They never leave a message; hang up before the answering machine picks up.

2012-09-08 00:02:25 UTCGina

No message left on my machine

2012-09-07 02:45:45 UTCkay

2012-09-05 23:32:34 UTCSue

Caller ID said Florida call.Didn't answer as I don't know anybody in Florida. They don't let it ring long enough for the answering machine to pick up.Do Not Call list is such a joke!

2012-08-29 22:15:23 UTCStan

This was a sales call recorded message. Reported it to the DNC but it doesn't help!! When you listen to the whole bs recording it asks if you want to be removed from their call list and to input your phone number. What a scam cause they don't remove you, they just and your number to more telemarketing shit!

2012-08-10 21:22:12 UTCBarb

First call from this number received on home phone (IL):
Thursday 8/9/2012 at 7:26pm
CallerID: Kissimmee, FL
Didn't recognize the number so I didn't answer.

2012-08-09 22:11:35 UTCMary

I was expecting a call, so I picked this one up, despite the unknown name. It was some crap about "let the memories..." I tried to hang up on it, but when I picked the phone back up, the recording kept going.

2012-08-04 00:20:44 UTCjcr-Seattle

Got the call during dinner. The answering machine picked it up. The only part that got recorded said, "If you want to take advantage of this offer press 1 if you want your number removed press 2." So we pressed 2 but got no response. And we are registered with DNC.

2012-08-02 18:58:24 UTCcurious

idiots

2012-07-29 09:22:18 UTCResident47

The purpose of the federal DNC program is not a secret, Looie. If you go unregistered, you have to negotiate with every single nuisance caller to quiet your phone, and you must wait for a pattern of calls to emerge before you can sue for relief. Having a blanket opt-out makes the *very first call* from a given sales firm instantly illegal.

Q&A: The National Do Not Call Registry
ftc.gov

When you've been registered a month, there is a 99.x% chance that all violative calls are from ignorant scammers. The FTC is not in the business of selling you out to those criminals. Access to the registry comes with fees and hoop jumping to establish that the applying telemarketer pledges to operate legally. Those who pay for access and break laws anyway stupidly expose themselves to prosecution. It is much simpler and cheaper for a scammer to ignore such listings and to set an autodialer to blast every phone number with a pulse, meanwhile hiding behind cheap VOIP connections and spoofed numbers.

2012-07-28 15:56:59 UTClooie

Who the hell are these people, and what the hell do they want? And why bother signing up for the national DNC registry? I think they sell your number to these telemarketers.

2012-07-19 19:49:18 UTCSuspicious

Hang up

2012-07-03 18:09:00 UTCWill Sterr

Called back on Skype - "Number Doesn't Exist"
I don't ever answer Florida calls anyway because of the large number of scams that originate from there.
Kissimmee, Florida should be Kissamyass Florida

2012-06-27 22:49:12 UTCJ

Florida Call, Hang Up

2012-06-20 20:41:16 UTCcherly

they keep calling

How do I stop them from calling?

  1. Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
  2. If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the FTC.
  3. Block them with a call blocker:
