Who Called Us

They call repeatedly. I am sick of being nice, arguing, getting aggrivated with telemarketers. Now I only pick up the phone, and don't say a word. I run up their phone bill. Jerks!

The CORPORATE phone number for IKAN is 785 562 2791. I reached them 712-884-2381. They get your number from companies you (allegedly) have/had accounts with and the assumption is you can be called - even if on the DNC list. They promissed to take me of THEIR call list. They said that their callers are supposed to ring 3-5 rings and wait for answer (but if on a demon dialer it could happen that they take another answered call first and your call has nobody there).

This is also Ikan marketing and I continue to get several calls per day and whenever I answer there is no one on the other end and the call is terminated. I found out they were calling on behalf of Qualifed Remodeler, a trade magazine. I called the number 319 228-5200 and talked with a woman who seemed surprised there was no one on the line after the call was answered.

I keep getting calls from this number. Nobody there. When I call back it is busy. What is the deal?????

Today it aas a "missed call" on my cellphone. I am on the National DNC list and have previously reported this number for violating the program. The last time I actually talked to someone at this number, they want to give me a "free" magazine subscription. Yeah, right.

number is a computer generated call for many business trade magazines such as CFO CIO CTO etc. after the computer detects a voice it is suppose to transfered you to a rep. usally it does not happen after you answer. It will keep calling until they "update" your information. after chewing out the person that was on the line when someone finally was on the line I finally spoke to a manager Karen Nightand who stated my number would be removed. I hope.

This is a telemarketing number for Blue Valley Marketing. Just ignore it. If you call the number, the company identifies itself and what it does.

i called ikan and asked w.t.f. the lady said they are a marketing group and they dial a number and verify the person and hang up, the are creating mailing list and telemarketing list. i told the lady to have there corporate office call me or i would report them for breaking the no call list. for anyone who wants to call and complain they are ikan and there number is319 228 8855 the dumb ass i talked to was a woman named karen. give them hell ya'll

Party hung up when I answered.(2:30 PM) Guess they were verifying that my number is correct? Called them back and after numerous rings a recording said a few words which I could not understand. I don't owe anyone anything so have no idea who they are looking for.

Let's be clear: Ultimately, on this one, I don't know "chicken salad" from "chicken s**t," as the saying goes. But according to this press release from the USDA Rural Development Center (link to PDF file):

Blue Valley Telemarketing was awarded a 10-year, zero-interest loan in the amount of $710,000... to filter down to something called "Kansas Farm & Ranch." KF&R is supposedly located in Centralia, Kansas, but I can't find a number listed for them. Only thing I can find listed for KF&R, oddly enough, is this aircraft:

The only Kansas political figure I know of, desperate enough to be making these types of phone calls more than a year before the next election, is former 2nd district congressman Jim Ryun. Like I said, I don't know for sure... but he's been making calls already this year, since March or April.

Sounds like something the newspaper reporters should be digging through...

When I told Connie about the phone calls I was getting, and told her that my cell phone number had been registered with that National Do Not Call Registry since 2003, Connie said "Well, we *are* doing some phone calls right now on behalf of a political organization, and those calls are exempt from the Do Not Call list." After I discovered the information on this page, I called Connie back and asked her if Blue Valley Telemarketing was connected in any way with IKAN, out of Van Horne, Iowa. Connie confirmed this information.

So... chances are, all these annoying phone calls we're getting from Van Horne, Iowa... administered through Blue Valley Telemarketing of Home, Kansas... are political calls. The question is, what political organization or candidate is working through Blue Valley? Read on!

Next up, I called back 319-228-5200. As user "Mobile" reported back in December, I got the voice mail of Blue Valley Marketing. Blue Valley's web site can be found here:

In the lower-left corner of the page, there's a link to an email address, info@bluevalleytelemarketing.com. This address does *not* work; I tried to write them from my Yahoo account, and it bounced right back. The phone number, on the other hand, **DOES** work. So I called 1-800-882-0803, and talked with somebody named "Connie," or maybe "Bonnie." Pretty sure it was "Connie," though. I actually called Connie on this number three, maybe four times... and was told some interesting information...

Okay, so when my cell phone rings, the caller ID displays "319-228-5200." A quick look at the phone book confirms that 319 is the area code for southeast Iowa. I entered the 228 prefix here:

and it confirms Van Horne, Iowa. Van Horne appears to be something of a "bedroom community" of Cedar Rapids.

Greetings! I've received several calls on my T-Mobile cell phone, over the past week or so. The calls always come, on the nose, just after 8am CDT (I'm in Kansas). I've missed every single one, and I always remind myself, "Tomorrow morning, I'm going to answer!" But, unfortunately, I never have. I'm going to put a sign on my steering wheel for tomorrow morning, to make sure I answer it and see what's going on! I have turned up some interesting information for all you good people, though. It'll be explained in the next few posts...

Multiple calls per day.. always hangs up when picked up. Called back right away and there's a message saying it's Blue Valley Marketing, explains what they do, and says' "if thid does not answer all your questions, all representatives are busy, leave a message" so I have leaft a message asking to be removed from calling list.. STILL getting multiple calls a day.. considering legal moves.

Received call today; not the first ever. Caller(s) do not leave messages. Perhaps they are trying to verify or create marketing lists with our names, addresses, and telephone numbers, etc and attempt to circumvent the DoNotCall.gov system. We are going to block their number. FYI, according to AllPages.com, the caller is Ikan Marketing, located at 206 Main Street, Van Horne, IA 52346-9712, Tel: (319) 228-8855. Could not locate a Website for them, although they may be related to ikan-group.com.

Have had multiple calls from this number, latest 6/6/07. They get to my phone company voice mail but never leave any thing but a blank message.

i didn't answer the call I was busy. I was just looking to get ahold of yellowbook's recruiting office and noticed the numbers where very similar except the last two digits. It must be them!~ So if you guys where looking for a job... that was them.
