I received aletter from Health and Human Services about a week ago saying they would be calling about childrens immunizations. You can either call them at 1-866-999-3340 to tell them you want to and not be part of the survey. Phone numbers are randomly picked by computer is what the letter said, the letter was signed by Edward J. Sondik, Ph. D. Director, National Center for Health Statistics CDC. It probably is taken due the up tick of certain childhood deseases due to non vaccinations of children because of internet lies that vaccinations cause autism. Due to this many districts have hit the tipping point of 10% non-vaccination children which the main fear at this time is that a once eradicated desease as POLIO has made some in roads and the survey is to find out if you have any children in your household are they vaccinated for the danger is real and even those families who are vaccinated are at risk as well. Thats all I know but you can either participate or not.

Caller wanted private info on my children's vaccines that they have had. NEVER give info like this out. This is private. This is personal. What will the gov try to force on us next. Not liking the direction of this socialist government. I don't believe in handouts and I certainly am not going to offer any private info on my kids. These people called on a Sunday no less.

They call a few times a week. Twice have left messages about immunization survey.
I just don't bother answering the phone wehave caller ID.
If they REALLY want information on immunization habits they are better calling pediatricians and asking them to contribute to a legitimate research study.

NORC is a front for private investigators. They seek information as to who is living at certain addresses and then turn the information over to a client who wants to know who lives at these addresses and any information about their ages, gender etc. This information is useful to whoever hired norc because it provides a profile as to HOW MANY PEOPLE live there, and by when the phone is answered, or not answered, when the addresees are in and when they are not in. knowing who hires them to get that kind of information lets the seekers of the information know when to break in and burglarize or rob the persons at that address.Someone ought to expose norc for their activities

This is a research group calling on behalf of the CDC to research flu prevention. However, when I tried to participate, they insisted on speaking to my husband who will never do a survey. When told this they insisted they needed to talk to him and kept asking when would be a good time to call to speak with him. "Never" was not acceptable to them. I finally hung up on them. My mistake was not telling them to not call us again.

I was called three times (about 6:30 p.m, 7:59, and 8:34). The female person that first called sounded of African American background. At the time of the call I was busy. She insisted on completing the survey. I found it suspicious that she did not identified herself and did not give me an option to decline participation in the survey. She was demanding and insistent.

This is the 5th time they called, all with a different story. One said a family member was in a wreck and they needed my information to confirm I was related (and to confirm I was 17 or older), and the next time they called, they said something about me winning a sweepstakes... Either a prank calling line or some other crap... Next time they call me, it'll be the last... They call me at different times too. Today, it was at 8:46, the other day, 5:24, last week, 2:12 (all PM).

I think they are exempt from the NCR so they can continue to harrass us undeterred. I think the best idea is to flood their emails, just like they do our cell phones. If ANYONE calls wanting personal medical information about you and/or your children (whether it's from a government agency or anyone else) it's in your very best interest to be cautious.

They've called me at least twice a day for the past week and a half, ALWAYS on my cell phone, and ALWAYS while I'm at work. We never received a letter. If I had, I probably would've done the survey on my on time, on my own terms. I find their methods incredibly annoying and won't be participating in any survey.

Tried calling the Verizon Unlawful Call Center 1-800-518-5507. They referred me to National Do Not Call Registry 1-888-382-1222. Filed a complaint with them and referred to this webpage for additional information. Hopefully filing a formal complaint will get us somewhere! The daily calls from this company are getting old!

THey called my minor child's number 5 times. I asked them twice to stop calling. Won't stop reading from a prepared script. They make it sound like it's 'official' and quasi-mandatory to answer. Why is ACORN involved with the CDC in conducting a survey via the National Opinion Research Center (NORC) regarding the immunization of our minor children? Has anyone else here refused a vaccine for your child? (Do Not answer that here!) My thought is, we may be a targeted audience for this survey. If you have refused any immunizations, it is entirely possible that they are making a list! You have the right to safe guard your child's medical info and you have the right to NOT answer questions from callers on this survey. "Information" - just so you are aware, I just received a call from these people. I have never received a prior mailing explaining a survey being conducted by the CDC through NORC,etc. Frankly, if anyone calls my home and asks unsolicited personal questions, especially about even the presence of children in the household, I hang up. Secondly, medical records are private and I would not give anyone (especially someone that I cannot verify their identity or need to know) access to my records or anyone in my family's records. There are laws to protect this privacy and you would have to have half a brain to tell a stranger you have children in the house, their names and then hand over access to their medical records. The CDC/NORC can get its research data in some other way. Immunizations are needed to register for school, all kids must go to school...so other than flu vaccines and Gardisil types of questions they don't need to randomly bother people and invade their privacy anyway. They can also get data on H1N1 and Gardisil in other ways too and I suggest they use their brains and get out of the telemarketing mindset for such a sensitive project.

Come on people, at least check out the legitimacy of this before making stupid comments. We received a letter from the CDC regarding this survey. In part, it states "Your phone number was chosen randomly by computer. It is important for us to interview every household we call to get a complete picture of your area's immunization rates and key factors that affect them. The study is important, but you do not have to take part, or you can decide not to answer one or more questions." They only sent letters to households that they could link a phone number to an address.

There is also a toll free number to call to find out what your rights as a study participant are. 800-223-8118 is the number for the Research Ethics Review Board at the CDC. You will be asked to leave a message saying you are calling about Protocol 2006-04.

With all this said, I have no intention of answering any questions. There are no young children in our household, and even if there were, I would not. It is true that they are also contacting Drs' offices to obtain immunization information. The forms they are sending to the Drs. are also on the website.

Please educate yourselves and stop overreacting. It is your choice. Additionally, since it is a survey, the DNC list does not apply. You can however, decline to participate and ask them not to call again.

Called my business line and cell phone simultaneously at 911pm EDT on 10 July. It was a recording that started with, "This is a call from ." This was followed by a series of choices. The first was, "Press 1 to accept this call." I didn't catch the second. The third was something like, "Press 3 to record and listen to this call." I just hung up.

Caller ID showed NORC U CHICAGO @ 7:56 PM. Did not answer and they did not leave a message. From the comments previously left, I will not answer it but may take measures to prevent this call from happening again.

The firm NORC is an entity of the University of Chicago. To stop them call the U of Chicago and ask the the Office of the Provost, the secretary name is Susan. Tell her to contact NORC and tell them to stop harassing yoy. if needed call tythe University over and over. This nORC also has ties to the Center for Disease Contro;l in Atlanta, Georgia. You can call them as well and make the same demand. It's time to stop these people.

They are calling to promote Gardisil for young girls to give them permission to be sexually active.

new phishing scam involving children's immunizations. it appears they want to know the demographics at the number they are calling.

Asked to take a survey about children's immunizations. They wanted full names of children, pediatrician's name, income bracket, etc.

They have called 5x in last week, last 3x I have more or less screamed at them to stop calling my 10 year old kids private number.

Called several times over the past week. Never left a message. Called the number back tonight (11/16/2008). Switchboard voice-mail picked up. Appears to be for a national survey for immunizations. Probably because I have young kids.

Called on a Sunday evening asking for me to take a survey and I said I was on the do not call list. They said it wasn't a sales call but a survey and I hung up on them. They have called daily at 6pm.

They didn't leave a message. I do not answer calls from numbers of people I do not know!
