Who Called Us

They have been calling me quite bit and hang up on me. I gave them piece of my mind and hung up on them.

They've been calling me from 270-650-2080. I don't answer, but clearly it is a scam.

called at 8:50PM..didn't answer. Am glad I did not.

Legitimate market researchers and survey companies are not restricted by the Do Not Call list. That list is only to prevent telemarketers from contacting you. So reporting a market research company doesn't do any good. They are not trying to sell you anything. They just want to gather opinions. If they are rude when they contact you, your best bet is to get the interviewer's name and then ask to talk to a supervisor.

called, did not know why someone with horses would be calling me, on another phone and did not answer. tried to call back in less than five minutes and there was no answer after 20 rings. no message left. still do not know what they wanted.

Have received 11 calls so far this week from THOROUGHBRED RE. I told them months ago I didn't want to participate in their "survey." They continue to call at least twice a day ~ different phone numbers: 270-643-0222; 502-458-4159; 270-631-0692; 270-985-1422.

These people continually call my home and wanting to discuss Medicare.....no way will I talk to anybody about my Medicare....I have hung up on them, asked them not to call and they continue....

Today I have received calls from 270-643-0222; 270-985-1422; 270-631-0692; yesterday I received 3 calls from 270-643-0222. How can this be stopped? I call back and the line just continues to ring and then disconnects.

My Caller ID showed "Thoroughbred Re" - and on the third day of receiving calls (1 per day) I answered. The lady stated that she was Medicare calling for (another resident here) wanting to know of that person's experience in getting Medicare benefits. It is obvious now that this is a research firm PERHAPS doing work for Medicare in some form. All further calls will go unanswered.

I spoke with the individual on the other end of the line. He told me he was representing Medicare and was calling me about my Medicare coverage. He even had my social security number, date of birth and address. I asked him pointedly if he was actually a member of Medicare, the government organization. He said know and right away I knew he was a fraud. I called Social Security as soon as I hung up. They advised me to do the following: contact Federal Trade Commission and Fraud Hotline. Also my local police. I will also contact FBI fraud division. Too bad you didn't find out what they are really up too. You may be in for a horrendous surprise

these people call me at least 3 or 4 times and i am tired of it i think they should reported for callingb people that are on the no call list

I have gotten 4 hang up calls from this number tonight.
They have called every 30 minutes. When my answering machine

They just called my cell number, no idea who they are or how they got this number.

I worked there. It's a legitimate research firm. They do not sell things and most of their studies are scientific, though they do some market research to pay the bills.
If they call your cell phone, say it's a cell and they'll take the number off the list.
If you just want out of the random selection pool, say to block your number. They will verify the number and then block it.
If the person is rude, ask to speak to a supervisor. They want their interviewers to be as polite and professional as possible.
If you cuss at them or refuse to verify your number, it won't get taken off. They have instructions to hang up if the respondent gets rude.

Just be nice, most of them are exactly like me. Students at MSU that can't find a job in the small town. There aren't many jobs available, and this was actually a really good company to work for. They aren't bad people and what they do is respectable. Don't assume everyone is selling something.

Yes, the entity is truly rude. They call, trigger the answering machine, and hang up.

Even on weekends they call.

Interesting that the website shown is now down, allegedly under conxtruction. More likely it is hiding from the cops.

Been getting 2 calls aday, say's Madisonville KY. No msg left. I called back; blocking my number, of course! Recording said Wilkerson & assoc. So I simply block the number out. If they use other number's I'll just keep blocking till they get the msg! 9-18-09

Whoever it is, it's pretty sneaky to hide behind a false Caller ID. I've never donated to any Thoroughbred rescues, so, thankfully, I figured it was a scam ID. They didn't leave a message, but if they continue to call, I'll behaving words with them.

I worked at Wilkerson and I would like to say, they do research on advertisements and some other things, but I worked as a survey operator, and if they call telling you they are calling on behalf of Medicare, that is 100% true. It is not a scam, they dont ask any personal information such as account numbers, social security numbers or anything like that and they do not try to sell you anything or beg you to donate to them. They absolutely are contracted by Medicare to conduct a yearly survey on patient satisfaction. It's all legal and its all legitimate. They will call on Sundays occasionally, because it is government sponsored and the government doesn't give a damn about the sabbath, lol. If you are on a Do Not Call list it doesn't apply to this because it is government sponsored, legitimate, and not a sales call. No need to freak out about it. The easiest way to take care of these calls is to take 15 minutes out of your day, take the survey, and vent your opinions about Medicare. It will only help you in the end. Not answering wont work because the computer automatically puts you in to recieve another call. And please folks, dont take it out on the people on the phone...we're just doing our jobs like you do yours. As for anything else they say, I cant personally tell you anything, but I did the Medicare survey for them and its legit.

We have been recieving harrassing phone calls from 270-985-1110. When I try to call them back I get an all circuits busy signal. The name on my phone shows thoroughbred re. I am on the 'Do Not Call List' who are they? They claim they are calling about medicare and want my husband. He is not a medicare receipent. When I ask questions they hang up.

Smiff says it is a survey taking company, but their website also says, "Exploratory research to test consumer reaction to “new” ads." To test consumer reaction to ads, sounds like telemarketing to me, or its first cousin.

Good idea about sending them faxes. I sent a company 22 pages of a fax, with a very large font, one repeated sentence on each page. It worked. They stopped.

If you have a fax machine send them a fax at 502-459-8392 It will get their attention more than email.

Your and your companies behavior just makes us all want to answer the phone and take your surveys!! Maybe if you and your company were more courteous and professional you would get a better response from the public! I get calls at all hours of the day and night every day of the week. i work at wilkerson and associates. its a survey taking company. they arent a telemarketing company so they dont sell you anything. and all you idiots whinin sayin im on the do not call list, they only applies to tele marketers.

They also operate from 270-631-0300. Sometimes the caller ID box lists Henderson, KY and sometimes it lists A. Wilkerson. One time they got sneaky and all it said was W A !!!!!

I've been getting calls almost every day or evening for weeks. I finally googled A. Wilkerson and came upon this website. Glad to know I'm among many complaining!

Started receiving calls from this "Wilkerson and Associations" (caller ID) after responding to a Nielsen phone survey. My number is registered on the national "Do Not Call" list, but the Nielsen folks might have sold my number without permission? Calls came at night before 9 p.m. and on weekend.

I finally got these people to identify themselves. they wanted to talk about medicare with my husband. i told him that he does not receive medicare {he's too young} after a few more questions, i realized they were trying to get to my father-in-law {same name as my husband} and talk to him. because we take care of alot of my father-in-laws personal business {he's in his 80's and doesn't hear well} i give out my phone number for people to contact me. i guess they got my number through one of these places. they never really said what they exactly wanted to talk to him about.

they keep calling and calling and calling. can't get them to tell me what they want. they ask for my husband who isn't here during the day. {he works} who are these people????
