PRANK CALL!

I recieved a call from this number today. I was curious who this call was from so I used reverse look-up and Cythia Fenwick came up. I googled her and this site caught my attention. I did rent from Enterprise yesterday. I am glad that this forum is here to answer questions about strange calls.

Didn't leave a message, but I did rent from Enterprise Car Rental. Called Sunday July 5 2009 at 4:58 PM.

Ditto. Enterprise rental on 6/11 (thurs). First call evening of 6/14 (sun). Second call late evening of 6/16 (tues). Here's a tip: If the call is coming to your cell phone, save the number as a new contact. On most cell phones you can personalize a ring for any contact. I had this girl who would call my cell at all hours of the night looking for some guy whose number must have been one digit away from mine. I saved her number as a contact and personalized her ringtone to "silent". Most phones have this feature. Check it out. Hope it helps.

Look. The folks defending the service call are jackasses. It is a waste of my time. If you want to use my time, pay me for it. The end. If Enterprise offers a $10 off for the call in the first ten seconds, perhaps you have a point. Otherwise, your customers are PAYING (in their time) for improving YOUR marketing. If every vendor adopts your technique, our evenings turn into nothing but checking phone calls from vendors trying to collect free marketing information and claiming it's just a little bit of our time. The price difference between Enterprise and other companies is not enough for this irritation.

enterprise survey call. left no message. called at around 5pm. called back and got a recorded explanation as to who they were and how they do not fall under the national do not call list because they're not a telemarketing firm. weaksauce indeed.

Yeah, I also rented from Enterprise and gave the number of the phone it called. And I also received the call late in the evening and no message was left. WEAK!

I also rented from Enterprise last week. I don't mind a customer survey call afterwards... but I DO mind getting it at 10:21pm!

A man has called several times to our number and asked for me by my full name. He has very rudely not acknowledged who he was or what company he was representing, but rather abruptly hung up each time once he understood that I was unavailable.

A lot of companies these days do follow up surveys to rate customer service and get customer feedback. My Enterprise person told me specifically that I'd probably get a call and they'd appreciate if I was honest. It's not a big scam or a breach of privacy, just business carrying out business.

...why are so many people afraid to just pick up the phone anymore? These guys are just asking how your service was. They aren't trying to sell you ANYTHING. This is how businesses get customer feedback in order to make ASSHOLES like you all happier. It's a 3 minute conversation, at the most, where they can address all of the problems you had or didn't have during your rental period. QUIT BEING SO GODDAM ANTI-SOCIAL AND HIDING BEHIND YOUR HANDSET! It's NOT a telemarketer!

I didn't get to the phone in time, so looked number up. Ironic if it was Enterprise, I just looked up some prices an hour ago (didn't book anything) for a possible trip next week. Didn't leave a message.

Caller ID showed number. No message. I rented from Enterprise last week. They have terrific customer service and I rec'd a good deal and a good car. I'll use them again but will ignore this number.

Merits research is calling me for a survey. If you don't want them to call to get off the list call 1 800 864 8601 do not call list. I am not sure if it will work.

Interesting web site. Recently rented an Enterprise car due to auto repair. Woman asked for Mitchell so knew it wasn't a legitimate call. Told them they had the wrong number. Looked the number up on google and got this web site. Cell phone was already registered on Do Not Call list.

At least I used a Grand Central number (now Google Voice) so I can block this number from future calls. I was NOT informed that it would be for marketing or anything other than legitimate business use.

Received call on cell. Did not answer. Showed up as missed call but no message left. Rented from Enterprise earlier this week.

Had a service loaner from Enterprise 3+ weeks ago and just got a call from this number on my cell...

I answered and they hung up...

We just rented a car from Enterprise and I first off was upset because my insurance company is paying for the car, well they ask for your ID and proof of a Credit card. Well my joint credit card was lost somewhere during the rollover accident I had so I canceled my card right away and the only other card I had was my personal ATM with only $1.20 on it. The lady asked to see a Credit card so I gave her the one I had thinking she was only going to use it as proof, well the stupid lady swiped my card, causing me to have a $54.00 overdraft. I called Enterprise when I saw that on my statement and they reversed the charges and then my bank waived the overdraft. And if that wasnt bad enough, when I wanted to return the car I had to drive 2 hours away when there was an Enterprise right in my own town. They told me that the one where I live in Calif. is based out of Tucson AZ. and I would have to pay a $700.00 drop off fee. What the....so we had to fill up two cars to drop it off out of town, then I had to top off the rental again when I got there.
Then tonight I am sitting here and get a 204 are code number show up on my cell and I didnt answer and then went on the net to look it up and found this site. I will never rent from Enterprise again.

I recently rented from Enterprise. now I need to read the small print, see if i stupidly authorized these people to call me? ...this sucks.

When you call this number back you get a recording indicating they are Mara Research (or Merritt?). They offer an 800 number to call if you wish to have your number removed from their call lists.

I rented a car from Enterprise in Calgary, Alberta, Canada last week... got this number on my cell's ID... googled it and this forum came up. What losers selling out their customers. Boo!

Also received call from this number. Didn't answer and decided to google it. From what I'm reading, it's a marketing company doing surveys for people who rented from Enterprise? If so, we did not authorize Enterprise to give them my cell. They ask you for a contact number when you rent and since most are renting away from home, you give them your cell. I just put my cell on the do not call list. The number is 888-382-1222. Apparently, telemarketers are getting cell phone numbers to add to their lists to call. Not acceptable as it uses peoples minutes. :(

didn't answer the call...i did reverse look up on 411.com and came up with a lady named cynthia fenwick at 3008 gallery pl., waldorf, md. there was also a google search that shows an obituary for the same lady from the same address last august. i just rented from enterprise last weekend and these idiots are calling me on a business cell phone. never renting from enterprise again!

Funny, but I rented a car through Alamo yet Enterprise called me too? Of course I didn't answer, figured it was just another ridiculous telemarketer even though I'm on the Do Not Call list. Funny, but you have to update your number to remain on that list every few years. Shouldn't it be that you remain on the list until you decide that you'd like to receive calls from morons during dinner?

Mine too was from Enterprise. Not only were they late in picking me up, the car smelled of smoke and now they've sold my number. Since renting from them I've received calls from 2 other numbers selling junk or "lowering my interest", my number has obviously been sold.

I got a call from this number. I am giving their number as mine to a Nigerian con artist who is trying to rent me a house he doesn’t own. I am telling him this is where I work and to call me there to get the cashiers check for renting the place. I suggest similar revenge.

Just got a call from this number and did a reverse look up and got yes....same thing. Then I googled her name and found this. This is wierd but I too am going to let Enterprise know ( whom I recently rented a vehicle ) not to sell my information.

Caller wanted to know if I had rented a vehicle from Alamo on a specific date. (I had). However when I asked as to why he was calling me on a telephone that was supposed to be used only for emergencies, he could not answer. When I pressed the issue of why he was calling, there was silence. When I asked him why he was using my air minutes, there was no answer. I hung up!

If they are doing a customer satisfaction survey, they need to say so at the beginning of the call instead of Spamming-it-all-up and wasting everyone's time.

Called the number back. The company is Maris Research. They do follow-up calls with customers that use their clients services. I recently used Enterprise Rent a Car.

I rented from Enterprise this past weekend in CA, and got a call Sunday eve from this number, when I was back in the Eastern time zone. I looked it up on line because I am a parish minister and need to follow up on calls. I don't mind emailed customer surveys because they can be ignored, & the source is clear. Thanks for answering my question about who it was from!

I had a rental from Enterprise as well ! That must be it ... It's Sunday eve though, they should be less bothersome.

Walter below in a comment explains what is happening. I wrote him an email as follows to let him know how I felt about it. See if you agree, then respond either by writing to him yourself or post your view here. We need to get this stopped before it makes our phones essentially useless.

Do you know if this practice is being used by other car rentals?

If it is, then this is a dangerous path to take, because they will have renters upset beyond belief. I rent nearly every week. If I have a problem with a rental, I tell them during the rental, whether it is a bouncing tire, no windshield wiper fluid, or whatever it is. I sure don't apprecitate getting calls after-the-fact. That rental is done!

If this keeps up, my phone will essentially become useless because of all the calls coming in that I either have to "check and ignore" or "answer and get no response or no message left."

Your clue as to whether I am happy or not is whether I keep coming back or not. You should pass this along to your supervisors and let them know that this amounts to harrassment and all they are going to do is make enemies, not friends.

Since it is only one number, it has to be one of 10 digits, try all of them until you find the right one. It's a toll free number, won't cost anything to try it.

Started getting this call today, twice in 5 minutes. No message left. I have not rented from Enterprise for a year or more, but I rent from National all the time, even as late as last week. Also getting calls from 800-673-7963 several times a day, almost every day. If you Google that number, there are a lot of complaints about it too. Same situtation, nobody says anything if I answer, no message left if I don't. I am going to contact the Attorney General's Office and file a complaint if these don't stop. I am on the Do Not Call list.

Yep, Rented from enterprise on 2/2/09 to go to steelers celebration in Pittsburgh. Must be connected to them? Got a good deal from them on a 15 passenger van.

I rented from Enterprise last week, I rec'd two separate calls from this number. The first time I answered immediately and no one responded. The second time, a few days later, the call ended before I could answer. Weird way to do business if indeed it is Enterprise.

While my car was being serviced, they provided a car from Enterprise. Took 3 days after vehicle returned for them to call. The caller ID showed Enterprise. I wasn't home when they called.

Called and hung up when they reached voice mail. I returned a car to Enterprise on Friday 1.23.09, call came in 2 days later.

They did say they're from Enterprise, calling to check on my experience with the last rental.

Had a call from this number today that I wasn't around to receive; Enterprise makes sense as I rented recently from Alamo, who I believe is a partner of theirs locally. I don't care one way or another if they call me but would rather they left a message so I could choose whether or not to return call (sometimes I don't mind surveys.)

I did not rent from Enterprise. But I did rent from Budget and Naional car last week. I used the 800 number 1-800-864-8601 to remove my name. They are skirting the law somehow through these rental agreements or something else they are using.

But rather to do a 2 minute survey to ensure that our customers were completely satisfied. This is done through an independent agency who gives us all the feedbacks from our customers. Believe it or not if the customer is not "completely satisfied" with an average 82% "completely satisfied" response from all customers in that month then all promotions from that branch is frozen. i rented a sweet kia suv from enterprise over christmas break. it had sirius xm radio so i was a pretty happy traveler. and now i get a call from 240-210-7049. i was pretty sure it was illinois gov. rod blagojevich offerring me obama's senate seat but i guess it could be enterprise.

I got this call tonight which hung up on VM so I reverse-searched the number on 411.com and came up with Cynthia Fenwick and the Waldorf MD address. Funny thing was it was identified as a cell phone and I've never gotten a name and address when I reverse-searched a cell number before. (I have to do this a lot for my job.) I, too, rented a car from Enterprise last week and had I not come up with this site when I googled the Fenwick name, I never would have connected it because I live in MA and rented the car on vacation in FL.

Looking at the other messages, I can confirm that it must be Enterprise car rental. I recently had my car serviced and was given a rental from enterprise. Since I never saw that number before, it makes sense that they would be doing a survey.

No Message left

Got a call twice, first time when driving and then another yesterday night. Could not pick up both times. I usually do a reverse look-up if unknown caller and no VM - it returned Cynthia Fenwick the first time. After yesterday's call, I Googled and saw this thread. I tried Enterprise just because they have a better location. I'll probably stay with Hertz - no such calls from them and their service is always excellent. Thanks every one for posting.

JUST RECEIVED A CALL 24 HRS AFTER RETURNING MY RENTAL CAR TO ENTERPRISE.

I got the call just now, which is 1 day after I returned a rental to Enterprise

Got the call, didn't answer, they left no message.

Agreeing with everybody above; I returned a rental car to Enterprise just over a week ago.

Note that they called on the Sunday after Thanksgiving at 5pm on the dot . . . something seems wrong about an unsolicited call at that time . . .

We rent often and I wondered who it was. Now that I know it is a telemarketer, I added their number to the primus telemarketer list and they cannot call me OR any other primus caller. Much better than the DNC because businesses can opt out. They cannot opt out of this. I have control of who can call me and not at the discretion of some agency.
