THIS IS A SCAM!
They will spam call you from numbers such as:
"208-783-0733", "704-456-1307", "714-495-4815", "863-904-4825", and "509-935-0671", there are even more listed on my cell phone at this moment.
NEVER GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION ABOUT YOU
No, they're a scam, call the FTC. They have a website for complaints like fraud:
ftccomplaintassistant.gov
Yep, do it
I keep getting calls from these people, despite the fact that I don't have a car. I have repeatedly asked them to remove me from their call list, but they continue to call me. It is horrible.
File a complaint with the FCC. If they get a lot of complaints from the same number they may go after these people.
Go to fcc.gov
On the left side go to forms
Scroll down to form 1088 and file the report. "Electronic Filing"
My minor aged daughter received a call to her cell phone. She didn't answer and asked if I knew who this is. I'm not amused.
These guys call my unlisted cell a few times a week from different spoofed numbers.
733-753-0974 is the other, I've added them to my phone contacts under "awesome"
The phone company did not sell your number, the marketers use war-dialing type software and get your number by chance.
You're also barking up the wrong tree going after the owner of the number on your caller ID, Richard Fanning in this case, the number is being spoofed. Poor guy.
Check out the address and link Jack posted below, harass VP Marketing.
These people obviously make money and will not go away until it stops flowing. If you are stupid enough to fall for this scam, how the hell can you afford a phone, let alone get a license, a car and new warranty? Scarey. Drivers tests clearly need to be more difficult and phone companies should require an IQ of 60 or higher for customers.
Automated message saying "your car warranty is about to expire." I get a lot of this message, from different numbers.
companies getting desperate and sinking to lower levels of advertising in these trying times. time to google earth some shit. however i think these calls are all coming from one place, the marketers are under assumed names, the addresses, while they may be real, are not the locations of the calls.
The company making these calls is:
VP Marketing
1820 Water Place Pkwy
Ste 255
Atlanta GA 30339
678-741-3188
678-741-3189
As proof, here is the first ever media report exposing these crooks! From Fox 5 Atlanta - WAGA, a 6 minute new video that confirms everything:

I just got a call from this number on my new cell phone that I've only had for 4 days. How did they get my number? I don't own a car, so why are they calling me? Is there anywhere to report this person or company and get them to stop doing this?
I have recieved multiple calls from this company, and I just bought a new car. SO I thought it had something to do with it. However I attempted to talk to someone and the phone jsut rang over and over. I want to find out who this is and complain to the BBB.
i think it's odd that i also got a call from this number, re: a car warranty, and i don't even OWN a car
anyone live near Idaho? drive up to Kellogg and beat the hell out of this guy!
How can this guy obtain unlisted cell phone numbers!
Gee...I guess the warranty on my 1994 Honda will soon be up. I'd better hurry up and sign up for an extended warranty for my 15 year old car with some jackass over the phone. I sure would not want to work with my local car repair shop or a reputable dealership to extend a warranty that expired 12 years ago! I guess the thing that frustrates me is that there are people out there that actually fall for scams like this.
Sick and tired of these calls. Very unprofessional!!! There are several different numbers that show up, this one and one from Nebraska. Very inconsiderate and sorry way of trying to do business!!! Cowards!!!
I wouldn't doubt that this guy is a creeper. i got a call from him and unfortunately was involved in some stuff a while ago which a guy with his name and age. its very creepy. someone needs to call the police in his town and figure this out.
I have not given my number to anyone that is not family, why is the phone company selling our numbers to telemarketers and spending OUR minutes on the phone. I do not purchase things over my cell to anyone I dont know. At least twice a week my minutes are being used by phone scams. The telepnone companies need to stop selling our numbers to these people.
I am really careful about who I give my number out to, seeing that I am under the age of 15. So it very strange that I keep on getting these calls. Someone really has to investigate this because it is very creepy. Also, my warranty hasn't expired becuase I don't have a car! And I've tried calling the number but it gets cut off. I guess the best thing to do is report it.
I got a call on my cell and at my house. I just moved last week and no one has my home number. how did richard fanning know my home and my cell if my best friends don't know it as its new? this is really creepy. call today 3/24/09.
The local police need to investigate this person. H is calling young people and frightening them. The local police need to do something before its to late.
Richard Fanning (208) 783-0733 446 Railroad Ave, Kellogg, ID 83837
none
Several students have been receiving phone calls from this phone number. They are unwanted.
I keep getting the call on my cell phone, I never answer and there is never a message. I did a reverse phone number look up and came up with Richard Fanning
Did not answer this call but appears to be a fraudulent enterprise. Active as of March 24, 2009. Should be investigated by federal authorities as well as local law enforcement. 208 783 0733
With Mr. Fanning's name and address, and number, the Kellogg police should be able to stop this if they receive enough complaints and filed reports of phone harassment. This will take a lot of people needing to call the department (208) 784-1131 and asking to file a report, get a report number, and call to follow up with finding out what actions are being taken. The information needed to file a report is time and date of call, and Mr. Fanning's info is: Richard Fanning (208) 783-0733 446 Railroad Ave, Kellogg, ID 83837
Reports work best to stop this when they are from multiple sources who have been called multiple times. Also, police will try to put this off on you needing to communicate with FCC instead of them but I have spoken with cell phone companies and it IS within the scope of police duties to report and follow up on harassing calls. Good luck!
208-783-0733 left no message on 3-23-2009. I don't answer out of area code numbers I don't know.
I got a recorded message about expiring warranty on my vehicle. I waited for someone to answer and ask her witch vehicle she was refering too. I was hung up on.

Unsolicited voice spam about car warranty expiring. Called an unlisted cell phone number that has never been given to anyone. Pure criminal fraud.
found this site on doing a search on the number and richard fanning name. haven't bothered to try calling the number. send the fbi in to investigate.
This is a FRAUDULENT number!
I'm not sure who's placing these calls, but you never get a ring tone when the number is dialed. It automatically cuts off.

Got a call from this number for the 3rd time. Left no message. Googled it to see what it was.... I get at least 2 calls a week at the store I work at from this number too!!!
Buy a whistle and when a person comes on blow the hell out of their ear drums!!!!!!!!!
fraud!!! they have called over and over~!!!!
I have got a 100 calls till now and the recorded message keeps telling 'this is the second notice of factory warranty expiry' on my car. This is very very annoying. whoever it is, they knew what sort of response they will receive from irritated guys like me. Thats why they are hiding behind a recorded message. This whole recorded message marketing nonsense should to be banned and these anonymous callers should be charged a dollar for every marketing call they make...!!!
they just called my phone and I did not answer but google directory has this info for that number.

Check to see if you are registered with the national do not call registry. donotcall.gov
Just got a call from this number @ my office. The message was in spanish...LOL I don't speak a word of spanish, so I came on here to find out who the crap it was. Time & Date of call: 10:26 AM 3/24/09
They need to leave Mikey alone.
caller hung up upon my husband answering - called back and received busy signal - spam call - we both received calls on our cell phones
I suspect these calls are a charge-off collector's india based farmed out nuisance caller boiler-room which is set up simply to annoy people who's charge-offs are lawfully un-collectable when their past the statute of limitations. Again, I'm guessing this's actually traceable back to Global Vantage, aka AACC, and they're fishing to try and find out if the unlisted cell numbers are ours.
Got a missed call from this number on my work cell phone.
Received a call from this number A.K.A.Richard Fanning on my work phone AND my cell phone. Call back and busy signal.
Sounds familiar; POS scammers!
I received a missed call from this number, and when I called it back, there was a busy signal.
Googled the number and got the ID as "Richard Fanning". Didn't pick up but got 2 calls in a row. Mikey said it; those car warranty calls are a pain in the ass.

No one said anything when I answered.
These people suck dick they keep fucking calling about my car warranty, I don't even own a fucking car.
