Who Called Us

On 2/18/10 at 4:10 pm I called back, a person picked up and identified themselves as the American Institute for Cancer Research (AICR).

Called this number and they answered. 'Cancer research." Asked for my name. I gave them my phone

number and asked to be deleted from their list. Hope this helps others.

I get this call daily, no message left and I don't answer it.

202 area code and AICR ID calls at least 4 times a week. Never leave messages. When I try calling back it says disconnected. Finally this morning I answered Saturday, 9:14 a.m. Lady told her name and was not asking for donations but asking to spread Breast Cancer awareness. She said she would be sending 15 envelopes/ breast cancer awareness literature in Msrch and my task is to address and stamp them to the neighbors on my road. I told her no thank you and please take my name off calling list. She was apologetic and said she would. So I shall see!

Just got this call this am. Said it was a political survey and would ask two questions. Was I a registered voter in California, and "in the matter of abortion, would you describe yourself as pro-life". I answered the question wrong, and I think the push poll is deliberately set up that way. Who's going to say no to the question, are you "pro-life". What are you, anti-life? Extremely misleaading, and no way to correct a wrong answer.

This was a push poll with Huckabee asking all kinds of leaning questions about abortion and the free choice act--ver anti abortion and obama.Misleading as usual

SOLUTION - You can call 202-461-3450 and asked your number be removed from their database.

We are CONSTSANTLY (and I mean constantly!!) getting calls from FRNKCMPN. I do not pick up anymore, but they are irritating, just the same. I wish someone would call them 5 times a day with just such nonsense!!!

Got a voice saying it was Congressman Steve King (R Iowa). seemed to be asking a couple of dishonest questions regarding gay marriage.
Why he is using these robo-calls for a state matter is beyond me but why would he be calling phone numbers that are not even in the
district he represents makes one wonder as well.

He represents the 5th district in Iowa, I live in the 4th.

And just confirming what one commenter said, myself having worked in a call center for a couple months in the past,
political calls are exempt from the DNC along with a few other types of calls as well such as survey, charity, and
businesses that you have a relationship with (ex. credit and store charge cards).

I answered, and a mechanical voice said, "This was a political survey call. We may call back." It then immediately hung up.

The robotic dialers MUST hang up if there is no one to put on the line. We should be able to opt out of these calls too.

SO, I just blocked them. They will get a busy signal when they call.

We are as well on the DNC...still getting this one...get them about 3 - 4 times a week!

FYI: The National Do Not Call Registry does not limit calls by political organizations, charities, or telephone surveyors.

Call from this number on at 10:07 AM. Caller ID showed FRNKCMPN Message left urging me to call my state senator and save "marriage = one man + one woman" in New Hampshire.

Don't you EVER push your religious views & hatred on me again. Automated survey because they are cowards.

They left message that they are taking a national survey and may call back later.

Don't stop complaining here..... If you're registered on DNC, report this number a donotcall.gov and file a complaint! This is the ONLY way to stop these calls.

@R - I put my number into the DNC as well. Still getting calls just like you. I know that the CT AG is going after companies that continue this nonsense.

I wonder why I even bothered to put my number on the DNC list since it doesn't stop annoying calls from coming!!!

This was an odd one. I could not terminate the call until the caller stated, answer yes, no or say nothing. Wonder how to stop these unwanted intrusions on our privacy.

I let my answering machine pick up the call.

The recorded elder male voice said: "This is a public survey call. We may call back later. Thank you."

I don't want all the little guys thinking it's o.k. to be a flaming qr. Thank you for not trashing American values by allowing gay marriage. Gay people need counseling, not additional rights.

Congressman????? That should be announced in the message. It sounds like typical automated political intrusion into my phone line. Dear Congressman, I resent uninvited phone calls. Please work harder to keep my phone line secure from uninvited callers, especially automated ones. I would have been more than willing to respond to your survey in the form of letter or email, but did not give this automated call more than 1 minute to identify where it was from, and then slam it on the internet. QUIT CALLING ME!!!!!
