How do I stop them from calling?
- Ask the unwanted caller to stop calling and put you on their do not call list (they are legally required to comply).
- If your number is registered with the National Do Not Call Registry you can file a complaint with the
FTC. - Block them with a call blocker:
Uniden DECT1288 blocks up to 20 numbers, plus Private and Unknown, with the reject tone, without ringing the phone.
Panasonic KX-TG106 blocks up to 30 numbers, plus all unidentified callers, with a busy tone, after the phone rings once.
JF Teck Caller ID with Ring Controller blocks up to 70 numbers, and can be set to always allow up to 100 to ring through.

This could be a type of organized bullying called mobbing and gangstalking. What if they know that the people they are calling and harassing are then going out and pouring dirty motor oil on the ground or down drains or into lakes, etc or maybe doing other destructive things, would they still keep calling and hanging up? Maybe the one they call go out and smash windows or set fires, then what?

They have called a couple of times now.
Call hang up. Rude and annoying.
The DNC registry is for telemarketers, meaning sales. Charities, debt collectors, political speech, and surveyors are all exempt as they are not included in the FTC definition of "telemarketing". This was made known to you when you registered your numbers. The exemptions can arguably be sales by another name, but that's the rule as written.
Today, Oct. 22, 2010 (Fri.) at 12:22 PDT, I received a call from (202) 454-4616. It was from the League of Conservation Voters, presumably as an attempt to influence my vote in the upcoming Washington State election, and seemed to be an automated message. What they didn't know before they called me was that I had already completed and turned in my ballot a few days before this. Prior to this, Jan. 20, 2008 (Sun.), 3:13 p.m. PDT, I had already registered my phone number with the Do Not Call Registry. If they're exempt, it could be the only refuge they have.
Robo call. I pushed #### and the call was disconnected. I'm filing an FTC complaint.
Annoying calls at all times. Quit F'n calling.
Recorded message with 10 second delay before soliciting support for the League of Conservation Voters ideals. Today's call was for political campaigning for Gifford. There was no opt-out to ask them to stop calling. While political campaigns are exempt from the Do Not Call List, recorded messages are illegal, no matter who calls. File a complaint each time a recorded message is received. The FTC will use collective complaints to file charges and impose fines against responsible persons or organizations.
Doesn't it matter if you are on the Do Not Call List? I am so tired of getting calls like these- and from charities! I refuse to contribute to any organization that disturbs me by calling my house un-invited! Cut down a tree and mail out the information instead!!!
Why do these people call if they aren't going to speak with you? They say nothing when you answer.
